Have you studied with him?

I'm not sure about the manner in which you are asking if I've studied with him. Yes I have, but not necessarily in the way you are thinking. Have you studied with him?

I've wanted to connect to someone who has sincerely devoted themselves to learning from him.

Can you be a little more clear in regards to how you studied with him? I have never met him, but exchanged emails, and he asked personal questions of me, which I didn't care for.

May I ask you how it would serve you for me to become more detailed?
Have you already become idle in a dead-end cognitive-culdesac in regard to who he is?

This forum is about a free flow sharing of information so that anyone interested can evolve their practice. There are many discussions of teachers here with both pro and con on each one. That way one can make an informed judgement as to how to proceed.

My interest in this thread has to do with how surprised I have been at how vastly Gary Chicoine has helped myself when I have really been humble enough to put into practice what he suggests.

Respectfully, I feel obliged to mention I am already a bit cynical of this thread cause I just see people in this thread as being really dismissive of him before seemingly having been investigating/exploring his teachings in any considerable, significant way. It is like some people just glanced at his website and thought that they were aware enough to correctly know what there is to know about the website and him off of that quick skim. Maybe some people gave it a little bit more effort, but that does not mean it was significant in any way.

It is like there is so much pride in the lower faculty to judge things, but that is really just pretentious as opposed to some glorious informed decision. It is not intuition. It is just excessive pride in cognitive deceit.

It is just rash and arrogant to form a conclusion without having made a sincere effort to investigate. It is a failure of the brain to understand its limitations and to reach toward better understanding through a practical effort.

I do not suggest people just idly talk in a thread about their imaginations about someone and some teaching they really know nothing about.

I do not see that as proactive at all.

I do not see that as a positive evolution of practice.

But I mean, maybe my perspective is just a loner here.

It is obvious his guidance is not for everyone, but that does not justify ignorant judgment really.

I am just saying sometimes someone is more of an unknown to us than our conclusion we have drawn from pretentious conclusions based on cognition being rash and arrogant. Sometimes it just does not have the data to know anything, and sometimes these things cannot be reduced to data collecting and logical processing.

We were taught in school to be able to quickly reach conclusions, but sometimes our conclusions are just premature at best.

But I mean how has Gary Chicoine helped me? The deepest experience of tao I've witnessed in the past few years I could not have experienced without his assistance. That is really all I wish to say to an audience that is operating just off of cognitive analyzation as if that is a good faculty.

He asked me if I was married and a few other personal questions which I felt were not necessary. Have you had personal contact with him? According to his site, he only meets students at his home in Lapland. Is that still correct? I just am unable to travel that far to meet someone whom I know very little about on some kind of journey of blind faith.

I did not like what I had written so I just deleted it. I am not smart enough to be clear here, really. But I would suggest others to not be arrogant too.

Jumping to rash judgments with poor cognitive faculties does not qualify as having illuminated the truth about such a website and the author.
I doubt any of us have actually followed through with experiencing "higher" faculties toward perceiving the website and the author.
And I doubt any of us have actually sufficiently tried listening to his advice and practicing with his advice to see what it can do for our "awakening"

I just do not even know why the emphasize is on him personally and meeting him instead of the actual point of the website. But that is what the emphasis is on.
Nobody here cared to expressively wonder on this thread whether his website can actually help with awakening cause instead it was made to be about judging him into shallow conclusions.

I just think this begs the question of what it is we are really doing here if we are not making the most of our opportunities. And instead if we are throwing them away.

But ironically not much of this thread is even about him or his website.

And I just do not see how this thread is really doing anything for any of us.
I would rather emphasize what it is he is giving.
What can judging him possibly do for any of us?

Like here is one answer I received through the absolute oracle

"It is your duty as an individual to pay attention to what is really going on and drop all unnecessary activities."
To go as far as to say such a statement put into practice cannot reduce blockages to tao/zen awakening would be to miss the point of it.
And there are many other potentially helpful "answers" too from his website that are not dead end answers but rather igniting the search for greater depth.

So I just do not see why the value here would be on criticizing the author based on our ignorant considerations instead of actually awakening

That is unless this daobum website has nothing to do with "awakening" or whatever you want to call it. But with just rushing around judging things as if that is something helpful to do for evolution.

Even if he is not who he says it is how would you or anyone else here even begin to know that from merely glancing at him or having a brush of a confrontation with him?

Even if it is a prolonged confrontation with him/his website.

Even if you did momentarily see him in a clearer higher faculty, to say those moments sufficiently "defined" him as who he says he is or not would be arrogant and ignorant
I just think the act of judging him is just self deception cause it implies an understanding in a place where there is no understanding.
I have been a student of him and have received much help from him over years, but he is still very UNKNOWN to me.

And perhaps a more worthy consideration is of what he is giving. Perhaps that would be more fruitful than just being a person who rashly judges everything they come across.

To sincerely try learning from him instead of being on the defense and blocked like his potential authenticity or lackthereof is threatening so is a social concern here.
If you approach him like that of course you are going to remain all shallow about this and not find anything helpful.

I just would like to have a sincere discussion of him/his website, but I do not know is any of us really have the will power to make that happen together.
Instead there just seems to be shallowness/inertia masquerading as doing something real about this.

I did not write what I was meaning as well as I intended so I wrote like us, you, me, etc. I made other mistakes. But really I am just discussing this in a general sense and in a really unclear way. It is not really specifically directed and if it was I'd call the specification unclear and not well thought out. So please bear with the lack of careful delivery.

Some people posted online conclusions based on some authoritative icons in their respected field that had never heard of Gary Chicoine.
How much more lazy can someone get about all this?
That was enough for a judgment.
