Do you have a blog or a website?

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

If you have any kind of blog or personal website and are at all interested in the possibility of (free) cross-pollination with TDB site here, will you please email me at somlor [AT] eml.cc with a link to your site?

Would appreciate it.  ^_^

Thank you,

Sean

Oh, just run of the mill revolutionary plotting, supersecret scheming, confidential shenanigans, etc. You know, ordinary shit webmasters do when they collude.  :P

My blog isnt even necessarily Daoist, but in accord with the fiction i write, the daoist influences are greatly valued by me n_~

Besides, my "World in Progress" RPG concept borrows heavily of Daoist charts and concepts.  Though much more than Daoist...   mythologies of all sorts.

So what would take place during and after this cross-pollination?

Hi Sean,

I'm glad I saw your thread proposing cross-pollination.

here is my long-standing site, up since the late 90's:  www.taichimania.com

(It needs a new homepage and I will include a link to TDB when I have it designed.)

I also have another one which I launched in 2010, which for years has had a link to TDB.  But it's down for major overrhaul and I will send you the link when it goes back online.

Best,

Terry Dunn

It was a big loss for the site when you erased your PPD here.  Post for post you had the most concentrated practical advice  on esoteric energy work.

Sean, could you elaborate on what you mean by cross-pollination? I have a colorful web presence including a good portion of philosophical musings and general thought- and heartfulness in sometimes unusual forms. Not sure what you are looking for and what not ... and for what purpose.

My website is currently mostly a link hub to those various channels of expression.

I'm interested. :)

Just started a Qigong community that I'm attempting to get off the ground.

Some cross-pollination sounds awesome!  :D

Email sent.

I have two blogs - one specifically Daoist-related, the other a bit more tangential:

http://way-and-wayfarer.tumblr.com  ...  this is my work-in-progress of my version of the Dao De Jing.

and

http://onceness.tumblr.com  ...  this is my journal interspersed with my poetry.  Many of the posts bear some relation to Daoism, though not always so obviously.  This blog doesn't get updated as regularly as the DDJ one.

Thanks. These are both beautifully crafted websites. I've added them to my bookmarks and will read them slowly with the attention they deserve. I'd already looked at the first few chapters of your Daodejing and found them insightful. The only word that jarred for me was your use of 'sky' expressing "earth & sky". Of course 'Heaven' is problematic but to my mind so is 'sky'. However I know you'll have considered all your words carefully.

(I can readily see your personality in your choice of words now I know a little of you from your Dao Bum posts. That's something that comes across after reading multiple translations - I get insight not only into the Daodejing but also into the conceptual framing of the various translators. Zhuang Zhou says a person can free themselves from human attributes - but then there'd be no words, just Daoist silence.)

I got the new modernized website loaded into my new domain URL.  Made it myself:  http://taohermitage.com

Nicely done.  It looks good.  Nice flow, good pictures.  And a truly amazing deal, just a fraction of what most retreats are.

In a couple months my last bird is leaving the nest.  I'll give you a buzz, sounds like a retreat would be quite an adventure.
