I'm with Max. It is the end for this country. Nations have karma and it doesn't matter if 1/2 the nation is against the war, everyone will pay. Mind you, the force (secret agenda) that is behind this country will continue on with strength because it has a different idea of borders then we do, but it will leave this country to rot like a spent carcass.

I was talking about this with Max this morning at my job (boss was out) and I mentioned to Max that the problem I see is that a lot of people on these on-line boards have no goal with respect to their practices. For example, these are goals: 1.I want to be immortal. 2.I want to attain _____ samadhi. 3.I want the 2nd jhana. 4.I want a tantric relationship with a woman. 5.I want a stronger aura to pick up chix. 6.I want to change my fortune. 7.I want to look 10 years younger then I am. 8.I want a body that stores no trauma and has emotional maturity. etc. etc. etc. When you have goals, then you view everything you do through the correct filters and discussions about retention become moot. Max wants jhana so for him celibacy is less hard because he has a goal, and he does the practices which help him attain the goal which tend to drain off the sexual energy into a different direction. Value judgements are only with respect to your goals. If you goal is the world record reps with kettlebells press while bridging on a persian rug then hammering the ham once a week is perfectly acceptable. It would be really constructive if people listed their goals here. Just a simple act will take this community to new heights. Otherwise we can try crazy sleeping cycles and pop tao-in-a-bottle but nothing will ever get done. While I may have a history of jumping around and trying every shit out there, I had and still have very specific goals which I am finally beginning to make real progress toward (although my bad karma has made it an exhausting journey).

The problem with not having a tangible goal is like someone saying Taoism is about Wu Wei so they are simply not going to do anything. Here's my goal: Give Smile's mom an orgasm.

Thanks for the warnings--I have no idea what the show is like other then it is probably inspired by Howard Stern. Sean, I have modified my posts to remove insults and bad energy. Allan, I would never argue with you. Maybe because I know you in person? I understand your concern about stacking modalities, and there are risks. Time is running out for me, however, so I do what I have to do. I suspect (and I may be wrong) that Sean is suffering from overload as well. Generally speaking, to be sensitive means that you can feel the karma of all these people yapping away in cyberspace. The connections are there and to train correctly (if I may use words such as "correctly") is to open oneself to these forces. When I was talking with Nan Huai-Chin one night he confirmed something for me that I had long suspected, and that is that nobody really knows what to do about all the endless karma that arises from incorrect AND correct action. For example, I insult Thaddeus and it may have had the result of creating a warm discussion, but it ruins my weekend because I am aware of the energy I have created that now looks for resolution. It doesn't matter if I don't care or remain unnattached, the karma is there and it will be eaten by someone! To be open forces one to be responsible because to be irresponsible hurts. Unfortunately, being responsible hurts as well. Look, if a Buddha yells at you in order to save you, would you question his virtue because he yelled at you? I am not saying I am a Buddha, but I am saying that it would help you if you dropped your preconceived notions about virtue. Thaddeus has not grasped that supporting others on the cultivation path is a very high virtue. He boasts of his income, yet he will not shell out money that he would shell out for an average lunch to support someone who translates a Taoist text! His behavior is disgusting and deep down he knows it, which is why he responded to me so. As a child, Thaddeus never learned the value of sharing with others or supporting others. Notice also that Thaddeus used a "take-away game" to "punish" me. When Thaddeus was a child, his mother used this on him, and it hurt him so bad that now as an adult he wields it to punish another who could care less about his intent to punish. Does such a sleep-walking human being not deserve a foul-mouthed wake-up call?

It is actually very typical that when someone is confronted with the ugly truth about themselves they go unconscious! NOTE TO EVERYONE WHO READS THIS: It is typical in politics that when someone is losing due to superior skill to see the loser of the debate resort to mockery. The reason for this is that mockery creates laughter, which switches the brains of those in the audience to mamallian mode and out of intellectual mode, thus making the loser into the winner since nobody can remember the winner's beautiful arguments. Thaddeus is using this common technique. Too bad I don't have much of a defense against him other then educating my audience.
