Proving Breathless State to Medical Community
SecretGrotto replied to SecretGrotto's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, but freedom and the breathless state are not mutually exclusive, since the breathless state is a reliable indicator of a minimum level of 'freedom' the master has attained. Only through absolute physical stillness can one generate full spiritual movement. The stiller the outer the more movement in the inner. This is the great mystery of life. At extreme Yang, the Yin emerges, and at the extreme Yin, the Yang emerges. The so-called second-level Saturnian masters have an outward manifestation of a big 30-feet ovoid of Light, that is absolutely still. Only through that physical stillness can those godlike beings simultaneously inhabit thousands of bodies across the galaxy. Self-imposed limitation is the key to real freedom. One cannot attain freedom through the exercise of free will. Yogananda simply gave the breathless state as an outward indicator whereby one can ascertain how advanced a practitioner is, in addition to indicators such as highly infrequent blinking and total suspended outward movement. Stopping the heart, I imagine, should also fairly accompany a breathless state, but will probably only manifest after the breathless state has been achieved. This stopping of the heart too can be used as a highly interesting phenomena that can be completely medically scrutinized beyond doubt and alternative explanations if it is done at will. Yes, a couple of Indian yogis have been buried alive for years, but what the world needs is recent proof performed in a best medical setting such as an academic USA hospital, with a lot of publicity. Otherwise if one refers to proof that is +50 years old very few people will take it seriously. The proof needs to be redone, and needs to be done to absolute satisfaction in multiple hospitals. Almost like the Harvard brainscans of experienced meditators. But why beat around the bush, if a highly experienced yogic practitioner is willing to display the phenomena achieved in his own body, why limit it to only brainscans? The proven phenomena does not necessarily have to be the breathless state, but this in addition to stopping the heart or bloodflow at will is the best phenomena I can think of that can be reliably medically scrutinized. And it will give great cause for the mainstream to take a more serious look at the claims of taoist and yogic practitioners. -

The line between educating and proselytizing is perhaps a fine one -
You don't know how lucky you are to be living in the US. There are seriously high calibre teachers in the US, and so many opportunities to learn. A worthwhile teacher will probably never respond to your request, but perhaps only a teacher that can teach you the sort of lessons you need to learn at this stage. A good teacher will want to see self-drive, deep yearning and a willingness to work hard and independently, before they will spend any real effort on you. Speaking for myself, I don't see the need to bother a teacher for the next 5 years at least, because really, all the instructions you could ever want is a couple of clicks away. It's really up to me to do the work. Have I meditated at least 2 hours today? Did I do at least an hour of Qigong today? Did I perform an hour of selfless service today? Something I posted before: I live in South Africa, studying full-time at university, no income. I've been dreaming of taking Stillness-Movement seminars, Wang Liping seminars, Steven Sadleir retreats, and Damo Mitchell retreats. We're talking about at least $1500 just to get me there, before even talking about the seminar or subsistence costs. Fancy that +$3000 Wang Liping retreat cost. Africa is a spiritual wasteland, it is only once in a blue-moon that we get a real master to visit us. I have yet to attend a worthwhile internal alchemy seminar in South Africa, never seen one even advertised. Yet, every day I sit at Yoganandas feet as I read his unequalled metaphysical elucidations on the Bible, drinking in his spiritual vibrations and savouring his every illuminating word. Every day I journey with Wang Liping and his ancient wayfaring teachers deep into a wintery wonderland, over hilltops, through rolling fields, witnessing his sparkling diamond skin as he cultivates in the shine of the moonlight. Often I sit with Peter Meech in Dr. Chow's office, catching chi and circulating the heavenly orbits, and laughing at Dr. Chow's mannerisms. In the cold dark of the night, when all have gone to sleep, I dance in the oceans of chi during Gift of Tao practice, after doing some stretching with Roni Edlund on Youtube. Then on my carpet I settle down for Stillness-Movement and usher in Hu Yao Zhen, Wang Juemin, Lahiri Mahasaya, Pranabananda and Michael Lomax. Maybe one day I will get to meet a teacher in the flesh, but perhaps that's just a luxury.

I rate this video as one of my most memorable finds of late, right up there with Hai-tanks one-finger handstand. Whether this is a hoax or not, this medium could've given Osho a run for his money, the message is spot on. I like to adopt an optimistic, open-minded view of the world, and secretly I consider all plausible miracles as a part of my reality. If it turns out to be false, I release it and move on. I very much like to think that there are ascended masters who operate in a more flamboyant manner than the 'typical' yogi or inhabitant of Penglai, especially if they were in developmental stages during the Renaissance and had to mix with royalty to steer the fate of humanity, like St. Germain. I consider the literature and stories falling under the Ascended Master/Theosophy categories as a favourite hobby of mine, and I just love finding clues in real historical texts that allude to a class of humans who operate outside of the confines of agreed-upon physics. Nowhere are these clues more abundant than with St. Germain.

The earth opens up, and I'm standing on a huge burner which spews out massive all-consuming violet or golden flames all around me. It fills the room from the ground upward and then spreads out to include the entire building. The flames amplify and become hotter and more intense every second, consuming all negative energy in its wake. This is my go-to visualization, it's in my 'muscle'-memory and I use it automatically when in distress even in dreams. When something distresses me and gives me chicken-skin, I automatically open up the burner and surround myself with super-hot energetic flames.

How bad would Red Speckled Kidney Beans rate on the Bigu scale, compared to wheat? Taoist Master Wang Liping eats beans, and he promotes a bigu diet for his students during seminars. From Opening the Dragon Gate: But there are a lot of sources that place beans on the prohibited list, for example: From http://thetaobums.com/topic/24484-yoked-to-earth-a-treatise-on-corpse-demons-and-bigu/?p=353122 I began using well-cooked Red Speckled Kidney beans as a staple this week, and I experienced some very weird symptoms since its consumption, good symptoms I suppose. It was first my Liver that started vibrating, almost like when a muscle involuntarily contracts at a high frequency. This lasted for a couple of minutes. And today my stomach or spleen also started vibrating, and if I remember correctly my small intestine as well. My Eustachian tubes have been periodically 'cramping', almost like it is clearing up. I have had issues with my Eustachian tubes for a long time. And I feel really great. I have a family history of diabetes, and personally I have always experienced lethargy, often resorting to high-GI grain products as a pick-me-up but crashing soon after. I have had a life-long food allergy that I only recently began to realize. My lips have always cracked up, as long as I can remember since being a kid, and the lips would quickly fall off and get replaced normally within two days. I have deep scars on my inner lips from a life-time of damage. If I eat cereal with milk? Forget about it, my lips fall apart like clockwork. I'm thinking that both gluten and dairy are the cause. If I eat egg, I can feel my lips literally growing into thick callous-type skin, which soon detaches from the lower skin layers. So I've now resorted to Beans as a staple, and I feel great. It's still too soon to tell if I have eliminated all food-allergies that make my lips fall apart. But the beans are keeping my energy levels really even, and I get the sense that my body is healing from gluten-damage.

'Zero Rest Mass' equals the Speed of Light. Achieved in meditation?
SecretGrotto replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
The faster something moves, the more massive it behaves according to a stationary viewpoint. To move instantly from point A to point B, faster than the speed of light, would require the moving object to appear infinitely massive. This requirement is met by masters who have realized that they are one with all creation, thus effectively taking on a body of infinite mass, which allows them to move instantly from any point A to any point B, regardless of distance. -
High energy state attracting unwanted attention
SecretGrotto replied to idiot_stimpy's topic in General Discussion
I appreciate the spirit of your argument, even though I am partial to the idea that it is not improbable for average humans to experience very bad episodes with negative entities. In fact, I am convinced that thousands of people have such experiences, although they usually don't know the supernatural cause of their dilemmas. I stand to be corrected on all matters, but for the time being I subscribe heavily to the teachings of practical mystics and exorcists like Robert Bruce and Jerry Johnson. I found 'Practical Psychic Self-Defense' by Robert Bruce quite the enlightening read, and the countless accounts relayed by Aunt Claire of exorcisms done in and around Perth, Australia. Much practical advice may be gleaned from run-of-the-mill movies about what sort of actions lead to infestations and possessions. Like visiting a reputedly haunted place during night-time or similar trouble-seeking is ill advised, and may land you a Neg-hitchhiker that could be very hard to get rid of. I have read accounts from social workers in the USA visiting drug-addict domiciles and routinely experiencing the CLASSIC symptoms and signs of Neg-infestations like the cat urine smell, stuffy atmosphere, all light-openings blocked and leaving with an unexplained headache and 'out-of-it' state. A drug home is an ideal festering and breeding ground for Negs, which can be seen clairvoyantly as very distinct astral creatures and demonic figures. Robert relates how he has done exorcisms where green 'ectoplasm' spews from the possessed face before a brick is being pulled out of a standing wall by the possessed. He advises that one should get the hell out of there asap if confronted by a similar situation. Or how about the Neg-afflicted man who has to touch all the rear-lights of ALL the cars in a parking lot or suffer an instant bowl-movement out of his control, with no psychiatric explanation due to the lack of accompanying symptoms. Or how about the child that sticks power-extension cords in his mouth whenever his parents turn their backs, despite everything being done to reason with the child, together with a whole host of other unexplained behaviours of obstinance to the point where they had to find an exorcist. One who after months of attempts to dislodge the particular Neg that has attached to the child, failed and finally had to offer his own body as a compromise. This was Robert Bruce, and he explained that the child befriended the Neg and kept calling it back after each exorcism. When the Neg entered Robert he immediately threw up and systematically began losing control of his limbs, which would perform actions without his consent, a classic sign of possessions. After months of hopeless struggle to free the Neg from his body he went into the wilderness without supplies, and was guided to a place where he fell asleep. An underground stream earthed the Neg during the night, and he was freed from the Neg. However, years afterward when he ran into the previously possessed kid, the kid's face was overshadowed by the Neg who smirked at Robert just to let him know the Neg came back. I release you from these tales of horror, sleep well. -
High energy state attracting unwanted attention
SecretGrotto replied to idiot_stimpy's topic in General Discussion
Agreed. I also found it interesting that one should shield with electric-violet light, instead of white light, because white light makes you stand out like a beacon and that attracts astral entities to you as well like moths to a flame. I know some dislike the word 'visualization' and that one should use intent or immediate manifestation instead, but I combine the two with good effect when I visualize the earth around me open up like a gas-flame plate spewing huge electric-violet flames from the ground upward into the heavens. I then imagine that all entities that may be present become consumed in this unnegotiable fire. Having watched some DragonBallz episodes are useful for constructing these visualizations :-) -
How do you properly drop your Brain into the Lower Dan Tien?
SecretGrotto replied to SecretGrotto's topic in General Discussion
From HealingDao.com, a very cool chart showing how to "drop the brain": And Mantak Chia giving a rough overview: Mantak's books/teachings never really resonated with me when I was starting out, because the instructions and requirements seemed so arcane and impossible to do. Like needing to spiral the LDT, I felt like "What does it help I visualize something when I feel absolutely nothing?" But now that I do feel the LDT, it is a different story, and I get really into the 'visualizations' required and feel like something is happening when I perform the connections to the galaxy/earth. Thanks guys for the instructions you gave also.- 33 replies

God, how far can we possibly be from our roots? The Anointed one means Being covered in ..
SecretGrotto replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
Some believe that "The Anointed One" refers to its direct translation "Christ" or Christ Consciousness, which is anointed as the intermediary between God and Creation/Man. Christ Consciousness is Individualized God Consciousness, which manifests Infinite Creativity through the Holy Spirit/Aum/Amen vibratory "motor" that keeps all of the Astral and Physical manifestation intact. Humans have been endowed with cerebrospinal energy gateways that give them direct access to the consciousness/creative Spirit/Christ Consciousness that is responsible for the "ideas" being manifested by agency of the Holy Spirit. Jing -> Qi -> Shen -> Void -> Tao Perhaps Void here in the Taoist Cultivation sense, is synonymous with the Christ Consciousness, and Tao is God Consciousness. You have to go through the "anointed" intermediary of the Void, Void as in nothing being manifest, as in Christ Consciousness singled out apart from the Creation it is responsible for, thus being Void of Creation. -

Sometimes when I'm a passenger in a car, and my door window is slightly open, it is if I can hear a symphony of music in the wind. It is almost as if I am creating the music in my head, or steering the music, but with an uncanny creativity. Then at times the music becomes so clear I have to look around to see if it is not a car radio somewhere, and it never is.

What would your "perfect" retreat look like?
SecretGrotto replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
Hoping to do a minimum 4-month intensive self-retreat next year, with a minimum 12 hour practice each day. This is my first time doing this, so I'm open for suggestions. I'll be renting a cheap, quiet apartment with trees nearby, walking distance from shops, to extend my budget since I'm houseless and transitioning from a student life. 4hr routine eg. 8am-12am: [30m] Rebounding/Squats/Pushups/Jogging/Tree qigong [30m] Progressive full body stretching [2hr] S-M meditation [1hr] Gift of Tao sets I/II 4hr routine eg. 2pm-6pm: [30m] Rebounding/Squats/Pushups/Jogging/Tree qigong [30m] Progressive full body stretching [2hr] S-M meditation [1hr] Gift of Tao sets I/II 4hr cultivation period: 11pm-2am [3hr] S-M meditation/cultivation 2am-3am [1hr] Gift of Tao sets I/II- 25 replies

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I would also love a similar elucidation, on the Taoist interpretation of Lu Tong's poem, if anyone can solve it: Lu Tong's Seven Bowls of Tea 七碗诗 卢仝(唐. 790~835) The first bowl moistens my lips and throat; 一碗喉吻潤, The second bowl breaks my loneliness; 二碗破孤悶, The third bowl searches my barren entrails but to find 三碗搜枯腸, Therein some five thousand scrolls; 惟有文字五千卷, The fourth bowl raises a slight perspiration 四碗發輕汗, And all life's inequities pass out through my pores; 平生不平事盡向毛孔散, The fifth bowl purifies my flesh and bones; 五碗肌骨清, The sixth bowl calls me to the immortals. 六碗通仙靈, The seventh bowl could not be drunk, 七碗吃不得也, only the breath of the cool wind raises in my sleeves. 唯覺兩腋習習清風生。 Where is Penglai Island, Yuchuanzi wishes to ride on this sweet breeze and go back. 蓬萊山﹐在何處,玉川子乘此清風欲歸去。

Question 1: With the knowledge of all you have seen, learnt and experienced, if you have to restart your practices as a neophyte, what would your practice program look like? Question 2: How important is the transfer of lineage energetics for spiritual/alchemical progress, and can sufficient individual effort be a proper substitute for it? I have all of Damo's books, which have inspired me thoroughly, especially the accounts of his personal experiences of growth and failure. I love how his journey took him from martial arts, being taught from a young age by his parents, to focusing on Internal Alchemy today. It is like the inevitable conclusion of his search and study of so many paths leads to the superior path of Neidan. I love that his teacher training program actually aims to ensure that the teachers have actual energy manipulation skills, and that his courses and retreats are so relatively inexpensive. Damo certainly seems very humble, and avoids bickering and debate, opting rather to practice and benefit from personal experience. An example I would do well to follow. He says in an interview video that the emphasis really comes down to the basic Qigong routine (Ji Ben Gong?), being done daily as the bulk of the practice.

Spirulina in a fish tank in front of a window that gets sunlight. When fresh, it is tasteless with a consistency of butter. It's the densest protein you can cultivate in a given space, and you can almost entirely feed the growing medium with urine. I once did the calculation, and if I remember correctly about 10 sq. m of growing area will produce the RDA of protein for one person, indefinitely, with minimal nutrient additions required after each harvest. However, Spirulina is chock full of iron and other elements, and to take your protein RDA with Spirulina alone would mean you will have to regularly donate blood to avoid iron buildup.

length of hair in relation to level of awareness
SecretGrotto replied to sunchild's topic in General Discussion
Correlation is not causation -
There is probably a logical explanation. However, a paranormal cause is not to be dismissed outright. I know sensitives who have experienced much worse physical manifestations like banging drawers and moving objects, which was caused by negative spiritual entities. A daoist priest or local mystic can help you with a screening and exorcism, if it persists and you find no logical explanation. If you want to do the exorcism yourself, then you can burn some essential oils and waft the scent into all nooks and crannies in your house and attic, but nothing is guaranteed.

My Experiences with Sadhguru, Isha, Inner Engineering, and BSP
SecretGrotto replied to Lucky7Strikes's topic in General Discussion
Sadhguru must not be familiar with high-level Qigong healing, where the goal is not to cure, but to help a person reach their destiny. That is not meddling in life, but giving the greatest assistance possible whilst respecting free will at the highest level. And the funny thing is, almost always their afflictions disappear with high-level Qigong treatment, which suggests that it is every person's destiny to live and play on this planet as incarnations of divine beings. Being perfect and manifesting their destiny. The karmic debts of a person touched by high-level energies may be spontaneously settled, which may remove the need for further suffering. I will never accept that a person must make peace with a diseased state, as if it is unalterable, as Sadhguru suggests. Through the practice of correct methods every capable, if diseased, human may realize his own divinity. -
I may have also read that Chunyi Lin was healed (on the soccer field gathering?) by master Yan Xin, but it is just hearsay. Certainly seems like that gathering was conducted in the same manner as the typical large gatherings of Yan Xin.
