Defense Minister of Canada discloses cooperation with aliens
xor replied to effilang's topic in The Rabbit Hole
There's obviously a huge amount of bullshit floating around UFOs/ETs. My idea is that either they exist and I can't do anything about it or they are a hoax. Either way my idea is that it's better to stick to what I know. -
No to all. Besides not agreeing to these choices, instant enlightenment(whatever that means) for everyone isn't the way it's supposed to go.

Scientists declare consciousness not exclusive to humans
xor replied to effilang's topic in General Discussion
Everyone else who hadn't been fooled by the earlier brainscience and had observed any animals at all knew this before these scientists. -
I've heard of Soul Retrieval in a shamanic context, but there is a daoist one? What is it like?

Many scammers attack other teachers as being fake or crazy as part of their strategy to lure in people.

There was an interesting study done on people who moved to the countryside. 10% of them were unhappy with their choice. I bet getting sunshine, taking a swim in clean lake or river, eating a bellyfull of berries that taste 500% better than the expensive crap you can buy at a shop and walking barefoot on the grass(without fear of drugneedles or broken glass) has alot to do with the 90% who were happy. Exactly. Once you're content there's not much need to talk money is there? Only the poor and the wanna-be noveau riches will think money all the time. It's not like you will keep it in the grave.

Love Shys, Involuntary Celibates, True Forced Loneliness, etc.

That could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how much compassion you have. -

Society places too much value on sex. I'd like to think that you can be perfectly happy without having had sex ever. If I wasn't with my partner, I'd probably go full celibate. Maybe what these guys need is another option and encouragement that they don't need sex to be happy? -

Can anyone translate this (Vietnamise) for me?
xor replied to Unseen_Abilities's topic in General Discussion
Played around on http://vdict.com/ for a minute. The beginning seems like it says "to that some heavenly angel replied:"? I think you're going to have to wait for a real Vietnamese to translate it, since you need to get the accents right or it will be a complete miss on google translate. -
Somehow this inspired me to wake up at 5 and do standing meditation. Didn't even plan for it, just woke up and started. Nothing close to 2 hours for me yet.

Tis Fcuking Food which Control Our Minds and Feed Our Desires!
xor replied to Rebel Emperor's topic in General Discussion
Half-joking only because I know some of us hate the taste/smell. I thought it's actually not as bad as advertised but then again I like bluecheese too. Yeah I got some in the fridge right now. It's good stuff like you say. It's a cleanser(also of the brain) and a vitality booster in one. You get the enzyme and an easy source of the much neglected and needed K2(MK7)-vitamin. Here's some reading about the benefits of natto: Nattokinase: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nattokinase K2(MK7): http://meguminatto.wordpress.com/2011/04/18/you-need-more-mk7-type-vitamin-k2/ http://www.westonaprice.org/fat-soluble-activators/x-factor-is-vitamin-k2 PQQ: http://pyrroloquinoline-quinone.com/pqq-info/pqq-rich-food/ -

Eat some natto, that should take care of everything. -

One of the Finnish old folk wisdoms is to not cry for the dead. There are many interpretations as to what this means, because there are not many people wise in the "old ways" around anymore. Folklorists say that the reason for this rule was that the dead still exist, not in their bodies but in Tuonela(the Finnish name for the after death place). When we experienced the "shared NDE" as energetic movements and bliss surrounding the room and following us for our trip home the feeling was one of holiness. All sorrow was erased from me. For me that moment gave me a glimpse of true reality, maybe you could say it was a holy moment. To grieve after having felt the holiness and even happiness of the departed felt like sacrilige.

Seeing "babes you want babies with" or "ugly beneath makeup" both are reactions. It seems neither of these ways of eating is good for you. -

Good points there OldGreen, there's bound to be practioners in your family line. If not in your parents then maybe further away. You may need to dig deeper into your own culture if you can't find any in your family histories. I've been thinking of my ancestors some times, but thinking about it I'm getting inspired to do more. -
I've always thought Russian is surprisingly close to Swedish too. Mostly modern English feels like a distant cousin to other European languages. Well some still take the Ural-Altaic theory seriously where Japanese, Korean and Fenno-Ugric are considered related. The only problem why it isn't accepted generally is really lack of shared words. The question is then why did these old cultures learn grammar(including honorifics similiar to the Japanese -san that used to be in Finnish) from each other but not words?
