  1. Animal Flesh and the Fall of Man.

Yes but having your eyes opened rules.

but atleast you get to hear people lecture who are idolized by many. To hear them say things you would never expect a "scientist" say is... well... eye opening.
  4. Deng & Blofield works. Is it ethical?

This is not what I mean and I am thankful to you pointing this guy out before I even considered reading his books. Which I will luckily avoid like the plague after reading the opening post. I have no love for the fakes and scams.
  5. Thank you I will give this advice to read.
  6. Deng & Blofield works. Is it ethical?

"He who can't learn from a fake guru can't learn from a real one" or in this case gems can be found from cow dung that maybe lead the wise beyond what the fake had in mind.
  7. Some quotes to ponder: β€œThe only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.” I've seen this attributed to Einstein. "Learning consists in daily accumulating; The practice of Tao consists in daily diminishing." DDJ(Wu)

It's an unlucky number also for the same reason in Korean and Chinese cultures. Same as many western countries with the number 13. And yes, it sounds crazy getting punched out of the blue for mentioning the number in English where you can't even mistake four for death or dying.
  10. I've been in places you would expect really bright people to find out the genius was mostly one-dimensional. If you want to be smart you will train body, mind, spirit, ethics and eat good food. Read some but practice is better than reading. There are always alot of laymen who read alot and never quite get it in any subject...
  11. We're going with this one. Thanks.
  12. I was asked this by someone whose practice is just meditation. I'm trying to understand the possibilities here and if I can help them.
  13. A plea to all tao bum members.

Best to avoid trollpits if you can. The second best thing to do is go and read but staying calm. The scammers and trolls are usually pretty obvious once they can't appeal to you on emotional levels.
  14. The Tao of Dying

What makes you think Steve Jobs was more serious about Zen Buddhism than all of us into the Dao?
