You mean evening practice no? (7:00-10:30 pm) Sifu Terry advised that we moved this conversation about the availabilities of everybody in the flying phoenix topic already existing. And we will keep this one only to announce upcoming events. Aurélien

  3. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hello everybody, I created a new topic on the forum for the flying phoenix grou^p sessions, just put your name if interested and the schedule you're available (California, Los Angeles time) and we will try to figure out something together. http://thetaobums.com/topic/33820-flying-phoenix-worldwide-events/ Thank you Aurélien

I can do the secretary job, no worries, for the sequence of meditations maybe you can tell us what you think would be the best combination if for example we choose to do a one hour session as you are the more experienced of all of us. It has to be something that beginners can do, so I suppose the best mix of sequences from the DVD 1 and 2, but if there is as well people more advanced they can have their own sessions with the more advanced meditations. Maybe one secretary should take the registration for the "basic" meditations, and an other one for "advanced meditations", what do you think? I'm really excited about this too. Maybe in the future you could even integrate a part to your taichimania website, where people could subscribe, and see which group meditations is coming and subscribe. Aurélien
  5. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hey guys, I was thinking as it is most powerful to practice flying phoenix in a group, why wouldn't we try to create some online worldwide events with a set time and see how it goes, Everybody would register, let's say 24h before by just putting his username, and all we would have to do would be to have an intention to practice flying phoenix as a group, which is kind of implicit if people already registered for the session the day before. and we could try as well to set a sequence of meditations or not, or just a length of duration for the practice. Anyone interested? Aurélien

Yes I did, the breaths just took me longer to perform, but stopping dairy products was the thing that really helped me.My sinuses are probably not as open as a person that wouldn't have that kind of problem, but it's enough for me to practice.
  7. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hello Mr Why, I asked this question too a couple of months ago I thin, as it was a problem as well for me to have clean sinuses. And I didn't get any reply, so that's probably good that somebody else is asking the question again, as sometimes questions can be unnoticed, but that's normal the Flying phoenix topic is quiet important now. For me my sinuses are not annoying me as much as they used to, probably the results of my practice and as well some dietary modifications. I don't eat dairy products anymore, I noticed it really tended to clog up my sinuses, and as soon as I do, even just for example a piece of milk chocolate I clearly feel the difference. So I'm really been careful about that. But that's for me, everybody is different, but maybe it might help you too. Best, Aurélien

Thank you for this very complete answer Sifu Terry, I'm impressed with the vast knowledge that you possess and your ability to answer most questions by quoting books and references and to be as well as open as you are. The real knowledge you have shows through everytime you write something, it's not just blablah about spiritual stuff, you're pointing to the direction we should go if we want to find the answers to our questions I think I asked the question about the shapes of the same avatar because you mentioned the term Christ-like avatar, instead of just Christ avatar, which made me think that once enlightened it was possible for an avatar to come back in the cycles on reincarnation and transfer his essence/consciousness to several bodies human or animal at the same time or not. But if we take this reasoning further, it could mean that different avatars might end up being the same one, like Jesus might just be the incarnation of the Buddha no?
  9. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hello Sifu Terry,, I didn't dream, the second part of your comment wasn't there the first time I read it right? If it was, I feel a bit stupid for insisting and asking you more details about why masters healers were more focused on humans than the rest. So sorry for that. Thank you very much for your answer. Could you please elaborate on what is exactly an avatar? Christlike or others? Can the same avatar be met under different shapes? Thanks, Best regards, Aurélien
  10. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Thanks for your answers Steve, I appreciate. And I agree that the zero point is the goal of all seekers. By possibilities I was referring to how the knowledge we get from any yogic art, so from the zero point, can be applied to all the different fields of expertise that already exist : like agriculture, ecology, biology, engineering, architecture, chemistry etc... The use of knowledge in those fields might bring balance as well and help people and the world to get healed too. So creating external systems that could work on the internal of all things.
  11. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

So if most masters deal exclusively with people, I suppose that they are charged by Heaven to do so right? Or is it a matter of choice? I'm just asking this question because if by mastering any yogic art we come closer the Oneness of things, why do masters keep an exclusivity to human beings for healing, it sounds strange no? Does it mean that God thinks we are more important than the rest?
  12. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hello everybody, Hope your practice is going well. I was reflecting today about chi kung and its possibilities of applications. I was thinking about the world and all the ecological problems that we have arising a little bit more everyday, and I was just wondering if those could be healed the same way a human being can be. For example if there is too much greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, would it be possible to bring it back to the right level with chi kung, would it be possible to decrease the temperature of water in the areas where it's becoming problematic, would it be possible to regenerate the ozone layer where it's depleted, to counteract radioactive emissions in the sea? I know that those problems won't be resolved if we don't change our lifestyles radically, but what if we could slow down the on-going process which would give more time to the mentalities to evolve toward a more environmental based attitude and lifestyle. and so complementary to this question what is the limit of chi kung? I listened to several podcasts made by Master Jim Nance who is a Spring Forest Qi gong system healer, where he seems to claim that based on the fact that everything is energy, anything kind of looks possible. So I would be curious to know what Sifu Terry, and Sifu Garry have to say about that. Do you guys sometimes do healing sessions for the earth? I'm just very curious about all the possibilities that chi kung could be used or maybe I'm just an eternal dreamer dreaming of a better world =). Cheers, Aurélien

Welcome Julian and congratulations for choosing this beautiful practice. I'm a beginner as well, and after almost 5 months of practice all I can say is that I totally agree with the term you used "gem" to describe this system, I really feel there is something very very special about this energy. Good luck with your practice =) Aurélien

Hello Tao stillness, Yes I think you made a very good point, the speed at which we breath seems to really be an indicator of our state of relaxation. I will try to keep my focus on the speed and not the on the feeling that my breath is deep or shallow, and I'm sure that the depth will come on its own. Thanks =) Aurélien
  15. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hi Sifu Terry, Thank you very much for you comment, I'm glad to know that I'm on the right track. I'll keep practicing diligently. the one thing that really conditions my practice is the quality of my breathing at the time I do it. Sometimes my breath is short and my diaphragm doesn't move how it's supposed to, and in this case I feel like that the more I try breathing deep and the more tense the breathing gets, that's where I'm trying to improve my practice, because I know I would make it a lot easier, if everytime I would be able to control it. Aurélien

Hi Cihan, Thank you very much for your comment, I'm glad to have a bit of feedback from other practionners. Yes I know the commitment is probably the most important, and for me I know I would even have more motivation knowing that I'm doing the form properly (I'm already really motivated), because it would allow me to erase any kind of doubts that I have sometimes. I realized that taking videos of yourself while doing the form is a really fantastic way to improve the way you move and do the form, you take the video and after you try to compare it with the ones on the DVD, and you really learn a lot. I'm thinking of doing that like once a week to check the progression. It would be awesome if everybody would be ready to make videos of them practicing, it could be of a great help for all practionners. And a bit more real, than just discussing about the flying phoenix system, we would have material to discuss it in this way. Seeee ya, and enjoy your practice =) Aurélien

Hello everybody, Here is a video of me while doing MSW2. I invite you all to give me any critic, advice, comment that you may have and that would help me to correct my form. Thanks in advance, Aurélien
  18. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hello everybody, I'm in my fourth month of practice, and I have to stay that even though things seem to be a little bit better, there is still some little things that prevent me from having a very good practice everytime. One is related to my lungs and sinus problem, I have my nose stuffy most of the time due to an allergic and asthmatic background, and it's of course a bit worst during winter. And because of that, it's much more harder to do the breath percentage with an extreme precision, but I always try to do my best, to be as close as I can, but believe me it's really annoying given to the fact that the secret of this system relies on the breathing sequence. So it tends to piss me off, sometimes I feel like I'm breathing through a straw put inside one of my nostrils. But I'm a perseverant guy and I really don't want to give up my practice. And I was wondering if sometimes it wouldn't be more efficient to do the breathing sequence through the mouth instead of the nose (we say we have to listen to our bodies right?, and in this case I really feel like I don't), because it seems much more easy to handle it this way in this particular context. I just want to maximize the benefits of my practice, either ways, with a nose stuffed or not. Another thing, I've got another blocage with my kidneys, and because of that it takes me a while in the morning to really wake up and not feeling sleepy anymore, and the energy of my practice is always better when I practice in the evening than in the monring. And so I think that my energy tends to sink down if I don't get active enough, and sometimes with the monks serve wine meditations because there are 7 repetitions, it takes me longer, and I really try to go as slow as I can, but I realized that if I go too slow, I kind of start to get sleepy, and it's a big trap for my mind because, it seems like there is not a lot of thoughts, but it's not a clear state of mind. So yeah I don't think I should move to that speed, it's probably not good to cultivate that state of mind. I remember reading somewhere that at some point for meditators there was a big deal, like the more you improve your concentration and the more you have to deal with laxity of your mind, and the more you move on the more it's subtle, and hard to notice, and it prevents you from making progress. So it's about finding a good balance between excitation and laxicity. I think I read that in The attention of revolution by allan wallace. So I don't know if it's the same kind of problem I have, I would be happy if you guys could share their experiences about this. Thanks a lot, Aurélien

    Is your question for me?
  20. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Yes I try to pay attention to the way I breath, and at the same time sometimes when I try too much to control it, it feels not really natural, so I'm trying to find the good balance between letting the breath goes on its own and me trying control it. I can feel when I breath properly but I haven't found a way yet to do it all the time, but I feel like things are improving, so I think I shouldn't worry too much and let things happen until everything gets regulated. It harder for me as well to breath with the belly when I stand than when I sit, but well I'm sure time will make everything smooth =). Thank you all for your nice encouraging comments
  21. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hi everyone, I'm a kind of new practionner, I discovered the flying phoenix system like 6 months ago roughly and when I did it for the first time it seemed incredibly powerful and relaxing. I did it for 2 weeks something like that and I started to feel that it was working on my blockages, on my lungs especially which was kind of annoying, because I felt like I couldn't really breath at some times during the day when I practiced. So I kind of quit the practice, but I put it in a corner of my head because I really liked what I was feeling during the practice even though it was making unconfortable after the practice. I did try another system just after that, but it was different, so I decided to resume my practice 2 months and half ago, and I have practiced daily since, maybe missing 2 days, no more. And this time even though I could feel like it was working on my lungs again, it was a tad bit better, which was encouraging, so I keep going. About what you said Shivashakti, I really feel too, that if I do too much some days, the next days sometimes it's a little bit hard to handle, as if the energy needs to ground itself yes. I feel like too, that if one day I practice more time than usually, I need to get more active during the day, otherwise, the energy gets stuck, like if I spend my day watching series on my computer afterwhile I don't feel like good. But on the opposite If I go jogging, or do a bit of sport, it feels fine. So I really think I need to adapt my chi kung practice to the amount of activity I have in the day. These days I try to do less, I was usually practicing twice a day with a 60-90 sessions, but now I do only one of 45-60 (sometimes more when I try to move at the sanddune speed lol, today I did the second MSW, and it took me one hour to do the 7 repititions, I don't think I've already spend this much time for only one meditation). And it seems like since I have reduced a bit the amount time spent on practice, I do feel more grounded and with more intergity, so I'm gonna keep going and see what happens. Thank you everyone, for that great forum topic, thank you for all the informations and support that everyone can find here, Warm regards, Aurélien =)

Hi, Thanks for everybody's counselling I find that really helpful, and it comes to confirm some things that I was already thinking about, and some are a bit related to stuff that I already tried. I tried shamanic healing twice, and I saw a kind of chinese doctor that was probably clairvoyant. Even though I feel like I feel better from what it was at the beginning, there is still that depression state that is turning around my head still quiet often but less than before. I had a conversation today with my parents about the conditions related to my pre and postnatal conditions, and something that might be in correlation with my lungs problems, and there were things that I found really relevant. I forgot to mention I'm premature baby, and was born at 7 months which is exactly the period of time when the lungs are finishing their developpement, and so after being born with a cesarian I was placed in an incubator with an oxygen mask. So I really thought that all of that might really have something to do with what I'm feeling now. Talking about the healing possibilities, I'm really ready to try everything that might work, it would be really great to get rid of that problem, so I would really appreciate if one of you, or somebody that you think to be competent would accept to be my therapist. I don't know whether or not it's possible to do that via skype, as I live in France, but I'm really ready to give a try to all the possibilities that I have. So Sifu Terry and Tao Stillness, tell me all the possibilities I have, to give a preview of the kind therapy involved and the results expected, and the time required/number of sessions and stuff like that. But thank you again, it's great to meet people that seem to see clearly into my problems and propose a solution, because I have to say that I kind of tried everything I could do just by myself, and really did it wholeheartly. Not that I'm desperate it's better, but still looking the light I'm able to see some days. =) Cheers, Aurélien

Oh... sad to hear that, I was really happy to have found that flying phoenix system. I just have to put all my energy into the doctor skills now, I was thinking about seeing an acupuncturist, but is that really a good solution too? I mean it's an energetic discipline too, so he's just gonna send more energy to the parts of my body that need it, like for a qi gong practice. So what kind of doctor should I see? I really hope I will get rid of that problem, it's such a pity to know such beautiful healing system exist when you can't use it. But thank you very much for the sincere answer. Aurélien
  24. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Hello Sifu Terry, I really need to get some guidances about the practice of the Flying Phoenix system and my asthma/sinuses/polypes/breathing problems. I feel like there is retarded effect coming after I do my daily session, during the session I feel fine, it's not particularly hard to breath, but during the day, I get oppresssed, like I can't breath properly, I've got a weird sensation around my heart chakra as if that part doesn't get enough oxygen or I don't know, and it lasts for a long time like 4 or 5 hours. My attention get sucked into that sensation and I try to breath the best that I can, but can't really do anything, and because of that it's like my cognitive abilities are not quiet ineffective, I can't really think properly, or read, or even follow a conversation, like it's making me be more depressed and duller that I already am. So I was wondering what should I do about that? I really want to have an energy practice, because I want to have a better health, but I can't handle to feel like a vegetable, thinking that it's gonna get better if I do that for 6 months, I feel like I need to get rid of that lungs throat nose problems first and come back to the practice again. Or is there another kind of qi gong practice where there is no focus on the breathing involved, because it might better and suits me more, if I only focus on the moves. The breathing part really makes me suffocate. Thank you in advance for your answers Aurélien
