Specificaly while meditating or doing forms/sets.... I thought of this while looking at Chia's crazy photoshop illustrations with the skull bones broken down to the elements, directions, planets and so on. since then I have been facing south as this orients the skull with the directions and it seems to be doing somthing nice. Also what have ya'll found with your skull joints? Any good intergalactic radio shows?

Its in Taoist Astral Healing. I usualy faced east unless I faced some other direction for some random reason. When I started Tai Chi I began hearing of facing different directions for different reasons. The only one I knew of for a while besides facing east was to begin with your back to the sun which can of course change throughout the day. As I leaned different things different direstions would come up but usualy when it came down to it the direction doesnt realy matter.... I just like learning details and trivia and experimenting with their effects. Another line of thought which seems a bit related are/is striking points and accupressure points changing thruout the day.... I am assuming dividing the day along the 12 big hours and according to the animals and elements of each hour. I had the thought that directionality might change with the hours and in accordance to your condition. and thanks on the avatar..... thats an actual photo of me.

What are your findings and understandings and relations with The Observer? The Observer being that part of you which observes, found under different names in different traditions. Like Lao Tzu on the innerlandscape diagram, HGA in ritual magick and so on.

what would you say if I say I think I am a bit past it making me crazy?

Not that you will read this but what a great Idea..... and not that I havn't thought of it myself, I just am having a hard time cutting off all the tentacles that this modern wonder has sunken into my soul..... I spend way too much time in this net instead of the more accepted form of consensus reality which really does seem to pan out more satisfying and real information....... from the void? Anyway I think it a wonderful thing to leave off this machine for more time in the doing. I will miss your posts and presence here. Where are you in Colorado? I am in Santa Fe if you ever make it down this way..... get in touch.

Please do add more... as you know I am interested in your experiences and learnings over there... just havn't come up with specific questions yet.... perhaps this will lead to some.

Though I would love to learn to actualy speak chinese I suppose It would be very difficult without immersion. I have heard rosseta stone is very good for any language. For now I want to learn to read and write Chinese to possibly read original texts one day and also to get into the mindset of that language/ alphabet..... so I guess its for acedemic reasons. What is the difference between Chinese, Cantonese and Mandarin? Are they dialects? Same Alphabet? Whats the most widely used? Chinese?

Well I've been trying to search for various things before posting but search ain't letting me search.... Anyway I don't think this is repetitive, pardon me if it is. I have read about people doing the five tibetans here and I have done them myself but I have been wondering how they work internaly and how they are used in context of tibetan buddhism or bon or where ever thay are traditionaly used. All the web sites that I can find are skimpy on such background information. I know theres a book or two on the subject and wonder if anyone has read them and are they any good? Does anyone know of this info or a good source to look?

I get a hard on every time I hear the word zen.

Ok, so it seems to be pretty well fabricated or just shrouded in mytery.... as for hopes of authenticity I suppose I could look towrds the Silk Road for the sources of what seem to be sufic influence. There are alot of sites which are running with the Tibet story and no shortage of benefits lists and a few how it works thought the best I have found was pretty mixed east and west I thought as his elemnts were 4 western ones. Then I wondered If the postures would fit the elements. 5 rites ... 5 elements but I couldn't see how that would work. The exercises seem helpful and nicely packaged but I just have a hard time regularly practicing something I think is made up..... and who knows, maybe these were sent by evil aliens to take over earth.

Hey, I'm wondering what methods you have used who have relaxed your Kua.

I had always figured that the subject of this book is why I so easily understood and felt at home with asian traditions and worldviews..... The historical foundations of Tao Bums... "Ex-convicts, anti-Manchu rebels and adverturers, the Chinese pioneers arrived in the Land of the Golden Mountain with firecrackers and lion dancers, adding glitter to the quest for gold. The Chinese had built the Great Wall and could easily build a railroad; Charles Crocker (yes, of the bank fame) imported them by the thousands. With the railroad workers can gamblers, joy girls, and wildcat-eating hatchet men. For the next fifty years they fought, lived, loved and worked, weaving their traditions inextricably into the fabric of the new world. " Where did you think they got the idea for Caine, grasshopper? http://www.plumpub.com/info/Fun/Tongwars.htm

Which brings me to the memories that I have of relating to this part of me is that it is more of a relationship with part of me that seems to be guiding way. One thing I am culitvating is a wholeness of being.... conscious, unconscious and whateverelse... I will to not have my person pinched off and segmented. The idea comes to mind that we only use about 5 to 10% of our brains not to mention becoming body conscious.... I would like to acsess as much as I can and remain balanced and helathy. And for me on this way all the mythical and flowery descriptions and language of taoism has been very helpful to me. As I experience more I understand more of the phrases and know what they mean and I appreciate that things wern't all spelled outfor me. If I had things nicely defined, organized and explained I would probably stop at intelectualization and philosophizing. As a level or stage is reached I am bombarded with the coresponding animal, phrase or whatever that is in the Taoist descriptions of the phenomena. I have been drawn lately to be more closely in cahoots with my 'observer' and have really been digging the idea of Lao Tzu sitting there with his long eyebrows. Which reminds me to ask if anyone heard of white eyebrow kung fu?

Ok, take a look at this clip and any others from the index page and tell me what you think the point of any enlightenment or salvation would be for such a person. http://www.bohnsplace.com/betty_butterfield/bbbuddha.mov http://bowerbird.typepad.com/mmmhellooo/

I do practice some internal martial arts.... and this is what I was getting at.... I am familiar with some versions of the exercises you have mentioned. There is some old stuborn fear stored there along with the tension and wonder if anyone has dealt with that specificaly and how and to what success. I would love any more specific exercise descriptions focusing on this area and/or links that anyone is willing to post.... even brief ones.

Hey Zenwind, I lived according to the tides for about a year up in alaska and ever since have been very aware of the moon... even in the city. I cut my hair and nails and used to plant according to the moon. I don't plant much any more. Lately I have been teaching myself constellations and locating them... have you come across any good star maps in your moon wanderings?
