Doesn’t sound like a practice endorsed by the Buddha.

Mudfoot's guide to the Nei Jing Tu. Coming soon to a PPD near You.

My teacher wants me to make an effort and find things out by myself rather than having it served on a plate. A "find the three corners" kind of a guy. That's probably good for me.

Buddhism is ‘liberation through Yin’, and turns you into a ghost forever. Agree or disagree?
Mudfoot replied to Phoenix3's topic in Buddhist Discussion
I found both the Nei Jing Tu and Wang Mu's book on nei dan more interesting after delving into tantric stuff. That is just my interpretation of what happens in my practice though, a daoist trained person might disagree with my conclusions. But, relatively seen, I agree that the tantric material seems to be clearer in its presentation. -

Mudfoot replied to Phoenix3's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Yes, I saw it I felt that it needed to be stated again (and again), because this site is dominated by daoist thought (at least the parts I normally hang out) and many seems to belive you either do Emptiness meditation or stand in the low Ma Bu when you follow a Buddhist tradition, and it is more complicated than that. So you will see me stating it again -
That is a reference to posts made during last years WuLiuPai visit, when this came up during translation discussions. Prefere the dual road myself (teacher and books), which still makes me perplexed most of the time. But both buddhist and daoist classics states that the high road (quick and intuitive learning) is for smart people, so I guess i'm youknowwhat....

Mudfoot replied to Phoenix3's topic in Buddhist Discussion
So, if (!, I'm new on this subject) I get it right, you energize upp your system ("method"), which leads to an experience of Emptiness ("wisdom"), and then you unify these experiences as to remove the duality between them? And since, if you dump the lingo and cut to the chase, this seems really close to Nei Dan, even a daoist would not have so much to critizise? -

Is correct view in it self enough to achieve the rainbow body? Buddhist Tantra say you should have a union of method and wisdom, which seems to mean a union of energy and Emptiness. Or is it only when you do this that you have correct view, and a person who only sought for Emptiness missed half of the deal? -
Eye movements uses part of your working memory (which is why it is used in EMDR), so it diverts your focus. Maybe that is the part of the point with it?

Many health care systems use acupuncture for pain. You can use needles with electric stimulation. You will find out more about this if you do not search the TCM acupuncture sites, search acupuncture, pain relief, endorphine.

Welcome! Many people start with Chias books, they are fully illustrated and catch the eye. TDB might not be the place to get help to explore those methods to the fullest, Healing Tao USA can give more and better feedback on Chias system. Here on TDB you might get strongly biased advice to investigate other methods.

What is Buddhism/the Buddha incorrect about?
Mudfoot replied to Phoenix3's topic in Buddhist Discussion
If you know this, it would be easy for you to find out for yourself. 1) which notable Daoists? Track their names down, probably not hard. 2) I am certain that in texts, really close to their names and the term "buddhism", you will find their line of reasoning. Answer found, problem solved, and you mastered the method of finding out for your self in the process. Or if you are here to test if the resident Buddhists have practiced enough, just write "buddha smells like butt" and see what happens. -

Doesn’t the full, Original quote also criticise some daoist practices? So it is not daoist against buddhist, it is Nei Dan against everybody else (except tantric traditions, possibly). -
The ortodox church have written extensively about this. The catholic church came to a different conclusion. They argued a bit.....

Has anyone met or know anything about these guys

I have a videotape in my basement from 2001, of me practicing empty force on one of my practice partners, where I make him loose balance and fall back in a sofa. I was standing 3-4 feet away. But, he did not resist, on the contrary, he tried to feel what I was doing. That is an entirely different animal than a contactless useful martial technique.- 46 replies

It is not contactless (referring to Changs statement about this, which my initial comment also was about), and it seems to be performed on students. I saw this back in -98. So from the point of view of what has been discussed lately in this thread, this is a diversion from the discussion, avoiding the issue. And you are right, learning from a teacher is the best way. PM me if you want to get examples of traditions that use the basic exercises, so you can find a live teacher.- 46 replies

Google Ling kong jin and you will find sources. The basic pulling and pushing exercises are in Mantak Chias book about Cosmic Qigong which is a translation of Kong Jing Gong.- 46 replies

Technically, I commented this. And this is a subject widely discussed, as my post stated. And the result from others, as stated on for example M.A forums, is as in my post. Many who have discussed this (claim to be) are internal martial artists of good standard and quite a few years of experience. I tend to question many things, like this. If it works on a non- compliant opponent, this should be quite easy to prove. There are probably many seasoned martial artists that are willing to exchange blows with someone who is willing to use only Kong Jin. If you say it works, ..... But now you are writing that if someone questions this, you will, what, sulk? As for my self, I practice an art called Kong Jin(g) Gong, and practiced the pushing, pulling and freezing ages ago. It was fun. But the other side of Kong Jing is more interesting.- 46 replies

No known person today seems to be able to show this effect on persons that are not in a teacher-student relationship, at least not on an aggressive challenger. This have been commented again and again by various teachers and discussed at length on martial forums.- 46 replies

No, that is not my logic. Actually, my logic strikes both ways. If you say it doesn’t prolong life, you would have to add some proof otherwise it is just your opinion. If someone else states it does prolong life, that person would also have to add some proof or that is also just an opinion. What most can say about it is that you can have interesting experiences that you connect with your notion of the MCO, which technically is a statement that is none of the above. I am a believer in the entire family of pasta monsters, if that is helpful So the last part of your post is in agreement with my logic.
