Yes, but a forum connected to a specific school might have more of the rules of conduct which you seems to express that this forum lacks.
-
Yes, but that is not in line with the founding principles of THIS forum. Maybe a forum connected to a specific school, based on the teachings of that school, would be more to your liking?

An unstruck sound 😁 Fitting in the hindu section.

Yes, you can divide a practice in the things we can explain and the things we can't yet explain. There are many effects in qigong that can be explained by (not so well) known physiological reactions, with or without psychological aspects. And some explanations are before their time (that is, more or less unvalidated speculations). Some things are yet unexplainable, and who knows if and when we will ever understand them.

Wu Qin Xi : Traditional Five Animals Frolic : Mystifying Disorganisation
Mudfoot replied to rideforever's topic in Daoist Discussion
If the entire cycle had been in reversal, it would have been one of the classical interpretations of the Wu Xing cycle, with the focus not of bursting through it or controlling it but gently allow the changes to take place. But I only say that because that’s how it is done in my tradition, as well as in the five element one needle acupuncture tradition that my teacher favours. But yes, it sounds like the method you describe has issues. -
Wu Qin Xi : Traditional Five Animals Frolic : Mystifying Disorganisation

You could always call wood to water "reversal". The same with earth to fire. But maybe it is Wu Xing five forms, not Wu Xing five phases? -
I think you are taking too big a bite out of the smorgasbord, but you will have to discover that for yourself 😁 Ahh, something buddhist, willing to do 3-4 hours a day, willing to do IMA and standing, long time-perspective. My ppd is full of it.

But even if there were (and you have always been at liberty to start threads on the subject), this would still be an open forum based on a café model, which tend to deteriorate to a "pub at 22.00 friday night" - model, rather than an internet-based school setting. How long do you think it would take before those subjects went south? I believe that there were a suggestion about an area for teachers like a year ago, but that had a poor fit with the rest of the site. Maybe if you start a site yourself, you can mould it according to your vision.

I have the same experience, and came to the same conclusion. It is a nice package. It is six simple movements which you fill to the brim with goodies. And yes, if you do IMA you will say that’s all there. But that is not the point, the point is did you learn it in such an easy way, and as quickly? I practiced the crap out of it for six months, and than like a thief in the might I took every principle I had learned and put it to use in my regular practice.

This becomes a problem on a forum. And in real life also, because in that lies the claim that every other daoist school base their teaching on flawed material and/or flawed understanding. That also devalues your critisism on whatever the other dudes name is, because it becomes hard to tell whether you are on his case because he is "creative" (=makes it up as he goes) or if this is just another secterian Pie - throwing contest (which fills this forum). I like your posts more when you downplay yourself and discuss the issue at hand more. Your post about Fa versus actually having a spiritual teacher was very good, to name an example.

LMP, SonOfTheGods, Mercury Fire Blood and Honey

Try spelling it Long Men Pai 😁 The top thread in Fuxi have a link to a Texan that can initiate you as a Daoist priest, and like a supermarket you can choose between traditions including Long Men Pai. Ian Duncan also teaches from this tradition. These are first generation westerners doing this. Wait 10 years, and their students will have diluted the teachings and started to write books. -
The world is an illusion....wtf does that mean ?
Mudfoot replied to Arkx6's topic in Buddhist Discussion
No, but the latest star wars film fits nice with the first, when they wonder if Anakin is the one that will balance the Force. And in the latest, she seems to be the first to embrace/accept her dark side while still strive for the light. It will be interesting to see if they develop that line of thought. -

One finger chan. Very good. 😁 -
According to TDB rules (someone will probably post that here) your title and position in your lineage or congregation carries no weight here, if you claim authority here you are "self-appointed". You might not like it, but that is beside the point. The bums is built from a café model, which means that a rank beginner may argue against you in a subject you are an recognized expert in, and you still are supposed to be civil about it. Only if you have his IQ test ready. I'm sure more will come. Everybody likes a show.

The Gold Standard everybody else is striving for and comparing themselves with. -
Unfortunately, natural wellbeing mostly depends on changing behaviour and lifestyle. And those who needs it the most, will search for the pill that will fix without effort. (20+ years in the health care sector has shown me this... ☹️)

My favourite textual sources says the same, work with the LDT before the trigrams.

Yes 😁 Well, no, but everybody that does that have different approaches. But your description in your ppd is excellent. Bruce Frantzis have an I Ching meditation, but the focus there is on getting to the empty space in the middle of the bagwa. Elliott:Wuji qigong and the secret of Immortality, also have a practice. And you can discuss whether it is complete or not😁
