You make a potent observation here. The basic form of perception is hallucination. All that we perceive is being recognized now as not direct observation, but interpretive hallucination. All human perception is an aproximation, not a direct experience. Our senses are triggered by signals and we interpret those signals into our perception of reality. We do not see/hear reality as it is... we transduce our aproximations of reality from signals through the conditioning of our perceptual process. Generally it seem when someone's confessed interpretations of the signals of life do not jive harmoniously with their native culture, (particularly when it makes the majority nervous or frightened), we seperate them and isolate them and treat them, to make ourselves feel better.
  2. Women in Eastern Tradition (taboo)

@Dedicated that's an intriguing thought. Recently, duality for me no longer represents a manifestation of two distinct seperate 'things' of and to themselves; rather it represents the manner in which there are expressions of one dynamic process along a continuum of polarity.
  3. The point certainly doesn't seem to be interest in exploring the topic, but rant about unrelated personal opinions. Effectively a thread killer if they don't lose interest and move along to the next target. Unfortunate. Strong minds explore concepts. Average minds dwell on events. Small minds obsess over gossip.

I've been waiting and hoping for several decades for humans to begin approaching medicine through the fundamental use of sound and light, instead of carpentry which seems to be the current focus.
  9. Well done bob... you've just participated in a conversation for a brief moment, rather than project your fear onto others and assume you know what they derived from the book or what is possible to derive from the source that is Castaneda. And then you are back to assuming and projecting your assumption and fear onto the world about you and others. Not that it matters a whit... but I'd be far more intrigued to know what you derived from the books instead of your projected fears and anger about the man behind these insights. No need to fear for us bob, we're all experienced seekers, quite capable of engaging without "being a new ager who swallows anything in print". We don't need saving bub. We're just having a conversation and exploring a topic. Of course, if you need to vent... c'est la vie. But expect some push back, cuz that shit is low hanging fruit in my world and my tolerance for it is nill lately.
  10. Some folks feel the rain... others just get wet. Find a new hobby bob?

I have a similar device. It was used to stimulate bone growth and healing after two intense reconstructive surgeries. I was very grateful for it and still have it 18 years later. Very useful tech.

and your engagement with my sharings are opinon and being an unqualified observer of my process are to me, the equivalent of bird song (or traffic noise)... meaningless chatter and background radiation. Be well or not mate.

What we consume is the literal process of merging of our inner and outer living process. It is the manifest expression of our interplay with the five aggregates and the co-arising conditions of life process. This can be a conscious and engaged, or unconscious and dissociated process. As organisms we comprise the environment in which we arise. Any distinction between self and environment at some point, relies upon an entirely arbitrary boundary set in mind. We often accept such boundaries from those who claim authority around us, to whom we give our agreement and thus accept as our world experience. My natural state is to be my own advocate in the experience of awareness, presence and beingness. Far more impacting than any physical substance I've ever consumed on my state of mind and beingness, are the media and thoughts I allow my mind to consume and ruminate upon. The emotional and mental states that arise that I feed and imbue with energy, abide and endure and become my ground state over time. One thought can heal, dissolve hate and resonate our entire being in bouyancy wholeness and loving kindness. LIkewise, repetitive thought patterns can poison, disempower and reduce connection and vitality. Assumption, projection abound. The Storyteller is an amalgam of all the figures of authority who've appealed to our sense of self to whom we made agreements of consent. We each experience life from the center of our own awareness. Energy flows where attention resides. Only you will experience what arises and dissolves in your engagement with the physical and the meta conditions of life. I undertake this process actively and do not innately accept or reject the projections and assumptions of others. I engage life and assess in flow. So claims and experiences of others are not an authority until I've engaged with them directly and see how they process. I do not accept even one bit of information from any of my formal teachers, until I've run it through my own process and see how it resonates in awareness, presence and being. Nor are we static flows... so revisiting is beneficial. Some aspects that have been beneficial for years may at a point in life become toxic and need to be reassessed and allowed to pass. Appeals to authority abound in present life. I see a culture desperate to 'teach' and be seen as a teacher. So much projection (much of it well intended) streams through our media feeds and from the mouths of those about us. It is remarkably empowering and freeing to engage the living process on all fronts and assess what arises within awareness with frank open loving acknoweldgement. What arises in others and for others is not rejected, nor is it adopted on their claimed authority. It is a potent emanation to engage life without instantly needing to accept or reject whatever arises.
  14. Do What Thou Wilt

Thanks Nungali. I know a few of us are aware. No section of this site should be allowed to be treated as a personal blog and if one looks at the recent weeks/months of posting. The pattern is clear. Pages upons pages of spamming personal rants of stream of consciousness rambling. I've made a report regarding the posting style along with a request to look into ban status.

I heard that one man's experience and subsequent opinion is not indicative of the entirety of human experience.

  17. Questions regarding Damos books

A few hours with a good book is one of my most treasured passtimes. What's a few hours investment into a process meant for a lifetime of discovery? As to listing possible dangers... that would be a book by itself and an irresponsible one at that. I won't begin to try and guess what may arise for you. Particularly if you're kundalini active. In that case I'd be simplifying, not looking to add more. Peace.
  18. Questions regarding Damos books

Only real way to know what you'd get from a book is to read it. No one can tell you how it will impact you. I find books are like meals, but for the mind. I don't know how it's going to affect me til I've tried it. I appreciate everything of Damo's I've encountered and got benefit from them all. (haven't tried the white book yet). As for Chia, his reputation here is one of wary cautiousness to outright disdain, mostly I expect because over the years there have been a plethora of folks who read his material (some of which is pretty advanced) put it into practice without a good guide or an established foundation with an in person teacher, they subsequently messed themselves up pretty deeply following Chia's descriptions. They then came here, some in desperation and in bad shape seeking help. So we've seen a fair amount of harm attributed to exposure to Chia. I read two of Chia's books for theory. His sharings left me neutral, but again... no way to know how anything will affect you. Like I said, books are like meals for the mind and they cost about as much as a dinner out... so there's not much to lose in exploring.

I make my oatmeal with coffee instead of hot water... It's f'king brilliant!

@roamthevoid Here comes that bias and fundamentalism I was telling you about... The site is rife with it. C'est la vie
  21. Taobums creator

If someone chooses to share their own identity and info online that's their perogative. When others do it without consent, across platforms, it's doxxing which is illegal.
  22. Use cannabis to build Chi

@roamthevoid It's your path in this life. Only you can walk it. In my experience, there's one source from which all arises and to which, all returns. Due too this, I tend toward a fearlessness in exploration of consciousness and energetic exchange. The use of elixirs, pills and a wide variety of intense and sometimes deadly substances is well documented in myriad sects of classical and modern daoism and many other traditions. The list is nigh on endless. Entheogenic use is foundational in shamanic processes across all traditions among the origins of our kind for a reason. So I don't put much stock in the fundamentalist conservative bend of recent times and the over simplification in villifying all plants (or coffee, chocolate and rice). We have cannibanoid receptors in our brains, this is a fact. Myriad substances affect and have effect on our awareness. Nature does not waste anything. We are in constant relationship with our environment. Yet this does not imply all things are beneficial at all stages in our process. Only you'll be able to distinguish the effects on your mind and body, but you can benefit greatly from a teacher in an established lineage with a history of prior exploration. Stranger's opinions on the internet carry no value with me and rigid 'one way' thinking is always an enormous red flag. Folks who claim one way with absolute certainty are usually selling something, even if it's not monetary but in propping up their authority ego. Far more important to me than the effect of cannabis on my meditations would be access to a lineage and a teacher in whom I could trust. If it were me and I didn't have an in person teacher or much experience, I'd not put much stock in the opinions of folks who habituate online forums (yea this includes me)... I'd keep things very simple and direct my energy toward finding a teacher and then let the questions flow. In the absence of a teacher, explore as you can and reject whatever does not bring benefit. At the origin of every established lineage, was a human being, exploring his or her own consciousness. This is our primary birthright and no one can tell you with impunity what can work for you.
  23. This is an assumption based on your current perceptual modeling. It is an opinion you hold currently and does not necessarily apply to all minds in all states of being. There is no one answer, or one way mate.
