how to stop fighting your subconscious ?
silent thunder replied to nine tailed fox's topic in General Discussion
Being aware of detrimental thoughts is strong awareness. But the resulting self judgement (here we go again, I've failed again, etc.) can be worse than the original thought pattern. Rather than fighting against anything, which only increases resistance and stress, I change my focus to be entirely on my breath. Single pointed focus on the leading edge of my breath and how it feels in every fiber of my body, until the cloud of emotion/judgement, etc. dissipates. -

I focus on the Lower Dan Tien to strengthen the foundation of the energetic body and to increase the potential Qi flow through my entire system. I focus on the LDT for preventative medicine, to remove blockages and to create/sustain a stable/grounding support for increasing the potential in my Middle and Upper Dan Tiens to make work in emotional and spiritual areas easier to sustain. So far the work is paying dividends.

I've been into vibrational theory since I first got a taste for it some years ago, reading case studies of the application of tonal vibration and coherent light in medical situations. That led to Solfeggio Harmonics and Cymatics. On a personal note, the easiest way to notice this in myself is my ability to affect an emotional storm by using music. The universe as I experience it, is vibratory. Much like two tuning forks resonating sympathetically. If one is struck in a room, the other will vibrate sympathetically without being struck. I know my mother used to dislike going to church, even though she was a hard core evangelical. When I left the church, she stopped going for a long while and I asked her why. She responded, " Well since I don't have to take you anymore I don't go because I don't like to cry in front of others... and the music... I just can't stop the tears. It's like the flood gates open and I have no control." Guess the Beach Boys had it right all along I use Solfeggio Harmonics daily and music is a big portion of my cultivation practice. Also body tapping, thumping and shaking, all with lots of relaxed vocalization. This all started instinctively and then later, when exposed to a teacher, I found out they were well established traditions that have very practical applications for affecting consciousness and emotional states. Nice post. Cheers mate!

Yup, I can't point to the Tao in myself or any thing, yet Tao is present in all.

Yes I've read a few of RAW's works. He's A-list in my world. I first encountered the term in Wilson's work Prometheus Rising. Timothy Leary originated the term/concept I believe, but Wilson really expanded it and added a depth to it that is staggeringly poignant for me. A: I don't see reality, I see what is filtered through my cultural and familial interpretations B: I don't interpret what little I do see, accurately. I see what I intend to see basically. This went a long way to driving the concept of Maya home for me in a very tangible way.

Those pesky reality tunnels... no cognitive dissonance ever gets in them... ping ping ping... your logic bounces off my defenses of intolerance and bigotry... na na na na na

Why on earth would one practice more than one system?
silent thunder replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
One of the best pieces of advice from my teacher was to start a daily journal and log anything noteworthy after practice. It's become part of my practice and has been invaluable being able to go back and have a clear record of things that have transpired years and months ago. -

I'm with you on this too. I'll go and study with the supreme science qigong foundation when they travel through my city, just for the added inertia of four days of practice with 400-500 like minded people... talk about energy surge! But then I'm right back to my system for the rest of the year. Consistency and commitment is fertile soil for prosperity. -

Nice. I'll check it out. Thanks.

I've crossed those tracks many times on my way to that amazing beach. One of my oldest friends lived there for 15 years. Enjoy!

If it involves money, people are willing to do just about anything and I'm rarely surprised any more the lengths they'll go to...

Nigerian Pastor Tries to Walk on Water Like Jesus, Then Drowns in Front of His Congregation
silent thunder replied to SonOfTheGods's topic in The Rabbit Hole
really odd that 200+ parishioners couldn't swim and didn't save him. either that or they figured, well if he can't walk on water. of course... god could have saved him... -
of course you would

Not every discussion must be an argument. Not every argument needs to be won.

I don't hunt anything. If there is effort, it's geared toward letting go and releasing. I find success with full body breathing and present awareness.
