  1. Mysticism

Yet you seem comfortable claiming with certainty that there is no influence. Interesting. Blanket statements of certainty in realms of this nature seldom seem helpful, but they are revealing.
  2. The Cool Picture Thread

    Lifa! Great band.
  3. Calligraphy of Liu Fang Yuan

My impression of the calligraphy exhibit was deep adoration and respect. The brushwork lyrical and mysterious. Each of the buildings in the Chinese Garden had their main columns adorned with scrolls and then one building housed the main exhibit. Though really, the garden itself is an achievement beyond words. There is nothing else like it, literally, being the largest Chinese Garden in the West. Over a dozen buildings, pagodas, half dozen bridges, criss crossing the man made lake. Talking Stones arranged around the walking paths all the buildings and bridges constructed in the traditional manner, with the most incredible craftsmanship. I've been a professional wood worker for about 25 years. The work is simply spectacular, awe inspiring. If anyone is ever in Southern California, add the Huntington Library to your must see list. And with how often I'm there, you may catch me enjoying tea on one of the balconies.
  4. Calligraphy of Liu Fang Yuan

Headed up to Pasadena to take a covid test today to clear work for Monday. Since I'll be in the neighborhood, I checked out what's going on at the Huntington Library, which is one of my most beloved LA hangouts. The Chinese Garden, the Bonsai collection and the sprawling gardens are staggeringly beautiful all year round, but right now several sections are exploding with blooms. And fortuitous timing! It turns out, they're currently hosting a Garden of Words exhibit. The Calligraphy of Liu Fang Yuan in addition to their permanent exhibits, (most of which are now opening up again). I'll share a few pics later.
  5. Voices from the world -- of space and time

Japanese Millenials: Man, the Elders are really dragging us down! Ningen Isu (3 pensioners): Oh yea? Hold our sake! Just straight wall of sound from a 3 piece... and those lyrics. Solid.

Two words come to mind with the recent bend of this conversation. Morphogenic Fields.

  8. Om Mani Padme Hum and it's profound benefits

We are never separate from source. Perhaps one of my most treasured realizations in life.
  9. One source, many names. One source, many experiences. We all experience from the center of our own awareness. Like the hub of a wheel with many spokes, all paths begin from, rotate about and return to the still void dao.
  10. Moving house, space clearing

Yea, we're blessed to still be here 12 years on and thriving. It's the longest stint we've had in one place by far. Our previous 20 years together were very nomadic.
  11. Moving house, space clearing

Figured I'd share a description of my clearing of our last place if anyone's interested. Short version is, using music, chanting (myself and recorded) and then a thorough sage smudge and while 'singing the bowl' with the intention to begin occupying and honoring what has passed. More detailed version follows.
