Nice Reference! As for me, perhaps my most relished realization was when it finally became conscious... that I'd stopped taking the universe personally. Life is no longer a runaway river, sweeping poor little me along. It's more akin to dancing now when life unravels. Or to swimming in a strong current river. The river is still carrying me along, but i'm no longer a victim of it, i'm actively engaged while personally withdrawn. It's a mean foundation for some serious stillness and bliss of clarity. One of the most resonant Taoist tenets for me is this one: which just keeps getting more resonant as i age. The Sage is in the world, but not of it.

putting this on loop and grabbin my gal for a quick spin... edti to add: compelled to add Annie's version. We got to see her live @ Hollywood Bowl. She toured with Sting and my god... the tonal quality of her voice @ 60! was like a crystal freaking bell. Talk about resonance. She utterly dominated that show front. to. back. I was gobsmacked.

I've become a big fan of Media Fasting. When things were their most 'Trump oo'ra Bigoted' around here... I took several breaks. Every time it was a benefit. It's been very slim pickings here for the last four years now, even moreso now that there are no mods. In the end, even this is cultivation because where I take the universe personally is inevitably where my work lies. So even a well placed troll is conducive to productive self reflection. I have a certain amount of energy to use in one day. It can go to nurturing something i love, or despising something ugly. chains of gold or iron... In the end, all of this come from one source. All i love and all i despise. one source. The difference between them then, must stem within my awareness...?

any energy is better spent elsewhere... Na, this is my last troll feeding here io. You would not be able, or willing to engage it from within your fishbowl.\ Nor is any of this worthy of further energy. peace.

I'm becoming fascinated by Pali in the last few years. Particularly certain 'buddhist' terms and their various translations, citta, ananda etc. -

Our neighbors. She's a nurse. He's a Vegas Lounge singer.

Great people. Love them. But whenever he 'rehearses' I have to crank our speakers up, or put on my headphones, or lose part of my soul to the raw, unbearable, offkey shrieking.
Â
I'm desperately hoping he doesn't go Full Italy on our neighborhood and try to give us a benefit concert on his porch...

The Biggest Threats to All Governments Worldwide are Spiritual Enlightenment in Humanity to Attain Infinite Siddhis Powers to Become Rainbow Bodies of Light

Zhou Ting-Jue was jailed for a time. Quite a time. When released, he was not bitter, not resentful, no interest in retribution. He moved to America and began healing and teaching full time. I agree with the old adage that the best possible retribution is to go and live an amazing connected life. One of the softest while simultaneously most powerful men I have ever shared presence with. He's an example of the only people I want to get even with... those who have brought me to deeper clarity of my true nature and taught me how to create conditions whereby my body can heal itself most effectively. *deep bow of respect* -

I've broken out the last of my Kinnick-Kinnick and loaded my Eagle Pipe. Grown on Rosebud land. Offerings of smoke and my own presence to those who've gone before. Lots of gratitude and respect for what has passed, that I may stand here now with all of you, facing this.- 317 replies

Pandemic Panic - Transcending the Fear
silent thunder replied to Michael Sternbach's topic in General Discussion
We are focusing on eating really well, healthy, nothing processed. Good sleep and plenty of it. Naps whenever the mood hints. We're listening to a steady stream of satsangs and comedians and playing games. We've also been reading out loud to each other and starting another audio book this evening. Lots of good music. Spontaneous dancing. I've been painting and sketching a few hours a day, or every other day. Shelter in place does not mean suffer. I'm noticing as the extremes amp up, a steady and spontaneous response of dissolving into stillness and clarity when mind isn't actively involved. Without actively engaging, the process simplifies into raw being readily and this emanation feels similar to what you describe with your heart fire image... though it's low emanations arising from no specific location, just the beingness. Cheers Gal... nice to hear you here.- 317 replies

sobering and nauseating but only at certain levels of magnification... myopia has me fixed for now on this interplay of form but there is little inertia or gravity to entrain attention on it for long... already the ebb shifts and local awareness tunes into the return of equilibrium and the thrumming presence of stillness and clarity underlying all... truth cannot remain hidden for long. Every despot, every king and peasant, every couple in love, every calamity, every war, every invention... all playing out on a pale blue dot, a mote of dust, suspended in a sun beam. The earth is a very small stage... encircling an insignificant star, one among trillions of billions in a sea of inky space. We're not all that. -
