  6. Dharma in the time of COVID

We share a lot in common mate. I was thinking that as i shared. I'm good for cremation though. It was profoundly impacting for me to be able to hold in my hands the physical remains of my Mother and my Father. Who both chose cremation. And then be able to pour them back into the Earth of South Dakota and Waters of Lake Michigan with my own hands was beyond my ability to find words to describe. Such intimacy, such profound resonance, such connection. Resonant Gratitude. I want my son to have that experience when my body is ready to give back.

I wish we used our poo, instead of chemically castrating it... get those minerals back into the soil properly. and stop planting our dead in odd gardens that grow only strange stones with letters on them while we're at it...
  8. Covid positive side effects

Everywhere we turn, folks are behaving admirably. Showing appreciation, maintaining respectful, intelligent distancing, not sour, bitter or glum. I have always loved and appreciated the town we settled in when migrating to Southern Cal. It's a wonderful mix of immigrants and transplants (from elsewhere in the usa) and natives. But that respect and love has grown exponentially along with this virus and it's fallout. Many are heeding the shelter in place order evidenced in that the streets are bare aside from a few. The beaches here are utterly bare aside from a few stragglers wandering the sand. At the grocery store this morning, our second run this month, the line stretched around the store to get in... that's because Von's took the time to place markers for maintaining social distancing while people wait to be let in the store. They allow 15 shoppers in the store at any one time. They've also marked out spacers on the floor for the lines inside to remind folks of where to stand in relation to others in line. Waited about an hour to enter the store. No yelling, no crowding, no pissing or moaning. Politeness, respectfulness, even cheerfulness. These times bring out the extremes of folks... but that means the good not just the bad. Everywhere I turn, I'm encountering more people behaving admirably, than shitty. Then I log into Dao Bums...

We're all looking from the point of view of our own reality tunnels. And when we begin to realize that we're all looking from the point of view of our own reality tunnels, we find that it is much easier to understand where other people are coming from. All the ones who don't have the same reality tunnel as us do not seem ignorant, or deliberately perverse, or lying, or hypnotized by some mad ideology, they just have a different reality tunnel. And every reality tunnel might tell us something interesting about our world, if we're willing to listen. Robert Anton Wilson We all experience life from the center of our own awareness. This is perhaps why presenting facts seldom changes people's opinion, because their opinions are created from the center of their awareness, and any facts are viewed through this lense. do any two people see the same room the same way?

How it is? How it is?! I have no idea how it is. I only know how it seems to me. “I don't believe anything, but I have many suspicions.” Robert Anton Wilson

I use three pouring mediums. Floetrol, Elmer's Glue and distilled water. I use various mixtures of these three. Premix in stored bottles marked and labeled. 100 floetrol 90 water 10 floetrol 65 glue 35 water 95 water 5 glue 100 water I start with a 2 to 1 floetrol to paint mix, then add distilled water, or water glue mix until I get the right viscocity for the effect I'm hoping to create. I also play around adding silicone, varathane, varnish, wd40, rain repellent, mineral spirits in with the paints just to see what arises. When they go horribly wrong, I simply scrape them and pour over with another mixture. Or use the mix as primer for another canvas... very little waste, though pouring takes a hell of a lot more paint than brush work... like 8x more.
  12. That's a great game. We love it. We keep it in our camping gear along with Story Dice. Story Dice works like the card game but you roll a set of dice and create the story by incorporating elements from every die rolled. We have the physical dice set, but the above link is to an app.

Wow... I adore her pastel work! I used to work in those in my 20's. Thanks for the recommendation, she's now on my radar.

No. I don't use watercolors or brushes lately. Last few years I work in oil or acrylics using knives, working the paint in layers, and layers and more layers. (mimicks the layers of inner work) Organic forms and abstract plays of color with form in flow. Recently I'm thinning acrylics way down and pouring them directly on the canvas to nice effect, tilting and allowing gravity to cause the colors to intermingle (mimicking the aggragates of life co-mingling).

Don't even need a full bidet. There are add-ons for regular toilets that install in 15 minutes with no plumbing required that perform well. My wife's Aunt and Uncle got one a few years back. They are in their late 70's. They rave about it.

*bow of respect* Natural communal growth through mutual benefit reveals what is highest to me, not derision of weakness. This repeatedly has been illustrated through the evaporation of illusions of my former paradigm of individual achievement. Focusing on what is wrong is... focusing on what is wrong. Build a model that renders what is wrong irrelevant. Play to strengths, uplift. Connect. All my most influential teachers shared this aspect. Many of them 'normal' non lineage people. But consumately connected. And not all of them human for the record. (but that's another trail) The reason we have teams is that in teaming we play to each other's strengths, not deride and spend energy on the weaknesses. Whatever we feed, grows. Feed what you despise... it grows. Fighting what you hate depletes your stores. Nurturing what you love increases your potential and that of who your connected with. High skill is communally beneficial. I'm reminded of the Sage like woman who pairs up Parolees with Pit Bulls who need fostering. In connecting with these dogs and finding ways to help them assimilate into human culture, the parolees find themselves healing along with the dogs as they connect and mutually bring benefit to each other. Win Win Win. Feed what you love for the win.

perhaps in the highest of skills... though more often it seems to stem from the 'this is for your own good' school of teaching through bullying and intimidation. Who among us knows just how much untruth another must encounter before they awaken to their true nature? Am I the Arbiter of What is good for all? Even buddha walked his middle way. Not the Middle way.

Hi and welcome back. Your words and actions come across like traffic sounds for all they reveal of your awareness. They lack substance, and stem from an unqualified observer. Irrelevant and Insipid. carry on ignoring me mate... I'm not looking for feeding fan boys and haven't accepted a student in 14 years.
