It is on late-night cable. HBO. Time to once more make an ass of myself in the name of science.

I'm guessing that my way was not the way you were looking for, Taomeow. Although I think you might want to try it--what came first, the chicken or the egg? The mother becomes the child. At any rate, I have to stop what I'm doing and go backwards, because I'm going to be on television in three months and they want me to demonstrate my earlier abilities. So I have to strengthen those as much as I can. My life is very silly!

Hmm.... I know how to do endarkenment. I think it's a girl thing, and, as you say, enlightenment is a boy thing. I owe you. I've forgotten how to do the basic daily life things I knew so easily at seventeen, and you have helped me tremendously in getting my basic health back. I know you have a master and I'm certainly not an expert at this sort of thing, but I might be able to swap some tips. You said you had children. How did you give birth?

Yes, I know, but less hogwash than this one.

Really? I was giving mantis some allowances because of his young age. Maybe I was assuming too much. They got a lot of their history wrong, particularly religious history. And it's certainly no secret that there's a lot of pagan influences left in Christianity, for instance. Life's too short for me to go back and watch that. If you want to see it done better, watch the zeitgeist movie. Also, because I am so easily hypnotized, I am aware when someone is trying to hypnotize me. They used deliberately hypnotic music and other techniques in that thing.

I find nothing funny about a person inadvertently taking a pratfall. But I find everything funny about a person who has taken a pratfall and thinks it's humorous themselves because life is full of pratfalls and we all take them. Exposing the weaknesses of others is not funny. Exposing one's own weakness is. It assumes a common human experience, a human connection, because we laugh together. Like when Oscar Wilde said, "Either this wallpaper goes, or I do." There is a shared secret between two people laughing, and it does take the sting out of awful things, as you say. Although I am perfectly capable of fully crying. I can easily cry for hours, so I don't think my enjoyment of laughter stems from unexpressed grief. I think it's more an intimacy, a camaraderie, and a recognition of the human condition that no amount of crying can express.

wait, wait, don't tell me...the answer is Ron Paul! Did I guess right? I've only watched the first clip. There's a lot of half truths in what I've seen already. Don't get too fooled.

You know very well that I agree with you about researchers. And you could convince me of anything; I trust in the truth of what you say. I do believe what you said. I believe that taoism leads to that; it's just not a place I want to go. My whole heart belongs to someone who makes me laugh, and I'm realizing how much he is my master, even if he is a Christian. Also, as a witch I follow Hathor. One of her most famous acts

Finally a place where we disagree! http://www.cerebromente.org.br/n13/mente/laughter/page2.html and the source of smiling http://books.google.com/books?id=ZessQo9jv...QCXkVYieeqQSeSg both are primate behavior. If anything, laughing is more authentic than smiling. In primates laughing signifies play, and smiling signifies submission, not pleasure. The thing I treasure underneath the laughing and smiling is the uniquely human trait of finding humor in not only the pain that life brings, but the pain we carry inside ourselves. I think it's a more human response to laugh in sympathetic understanding than to disconnect oneself from emotions the way buddhists try to do. I believe you when you say taoist masters do not laugh, and that has convinced me that's not a thing I'm interested in--finally! Although good health is good, of course!

Thank you for this thread! I had just made up my mind to try Kunlun because I'm curious (and lazy). But this has convinced me to hold back.

Salmon swim upstream in autumn's rain-filled rivers my heart swims to you. whoops! should have been speedier!

what shows? Then I am as far away from being a taoist master as one could possibly get!

I will add my two cents. From a witch point of view, or I should say my witch point of view, since having two witches in a room means three religious beliefs, everything is fundamentally astrological. On an astrological chart there are twelve houses, and each house is a realm. 1.) House of self 2.) House of the body, money, nature and the material world 3.) House of communication, language, local movement, school 4.) House of home, emotion, heart's needs (and witchcraft) 5.) House of self expression, fun, children 6.) House of daily work, food, health 7.) House of the other, partner, spouse, enemy 8.) House of sex, other people's money, the occult, secrets, birth and death 9.) House of foreign lands, travel, college, law and philosophy 10.) House of career, power, social status and life's work 11.) House of friends, society, the Internet and chi (house of air) 12.) House of dissolution, dreams, confinement, the Jungian collective unconscious Between each house there is a doorway, the "cusp" of the following house. Four of the doorways are considered very important--the ascendent (or rising sign), the descendant, the midheaven and the nadir. These are sensitive points on a chart. I get the feeling that many posters here are trying very hard to reach the point right before the ascendant or descendant, they want to wander in that realm and never reach the doorway. The 12th house is loss of self, and if a person wanders outward there can be a complete dissolution of the self, and then there is never the crossing into the first house with rebirth. The cycle is ended. Likewise I think some here want to wander in the sixth house and achieve perfect neverending health. They want to hoard all of their vitality and never give it to someone else and live forever, with a body that is always young. In a way, and this analogy will make people angry with me, it reminds me of Paris Hilton who wants so much to be right before the midheaven, at the point of fame without crossing over and grasping power and doing something useful with her life, fame for its own sake. I think for some rare people, pursuing these various courses is the right path for balance. My religion is based on astrological balance and pursuing the point of the north node. If a person's north node fell on one of these spots, then it would be a very good thing for them to strive for. But most people's north nodes fall into one of the houses, and for some people the path to balance is their career or having fun or travelling the world. Each person's path is different. There are twelve houses where a person's north node can fall, and twelve signs it can be, determining the flavor. Then there are the angles with the planets and the whole rest of the chart, so really I think a person has to work things out for themselves.

Imagination or Visualization is never a good method
witch replied to exorcist_1699's topic in General Discussion
Witchcraft is like 80% visualization. It's the accepting of a thing that's the hardest part, that's why visualization is vital. At least from my point of view. -
I'm fascinated by how what people eat (and drink and ingest) affects their neurotransmitters which in turn affect their personality, particularly how they think and write.

SFJane, frankly I'd be curious to see what would happen to you on my diet, very curious. I think tendencies towards depression and bipolar disorder are actually secondary sexual characteristics--that's my pet theory. And in a time of plenty, evolutionarily speaking, I'm pretty sure these tendencies would have mainly beneficial effects--it's just the omega-3 deficiency that causes them to be a pain in the ass. On the other hand, you are in balance. Might be like jamming a spanner in. Still, I'm curious. "Line" is an understatement! Drew, the congruencies in mathematics are inherent. All the beauty of it is completely isolated from anything else, and flowers up simply from the initial step of 0 and 1, separating them out. It's infinitely elaborate, breathtakingly beautiful, and ultimately empty. The only tiny sign of connection with something outside of its own closed system is a new surprising development on the prevalence of ending digits. Long story, but there's an anomaly there that should not be there. Also, I have to ask, are you with the sacred mushroom Gnostic people? Just curious--my neurochemistry hobby getting the best of me.

I was a math major at Brown. I don't bat an eye at CT people anymore. Got my conspiracy theory cherry popped over at the colboard. You should post over there if it ever comes back up. I'm assuming you've seen the zeitgeist movie and you are really into Ron Paul, yes? Why not self publish at that place where Max published? Although I'd hardly call that a "book," you've barely got 90 pages double-spaced, more of a pamphlet.

Eh--not that there's anything wrong with ALA, but I think EPA and DHA are much more important (and the conversion ratio makes ALA not worth it for that). A vegetarian source of DHA is Omega-Zen, if that's the issue, made from algae. You can also get "marine oil" made from krill that has EPA and DHA. And krill are basically bugs of the sea, not like eating a soft-eyed moo cow or an intelligent pig. "Fish oil" enhanced milk and eggs are simply replicating the foods that we evolved eating, before animals were raised in factories in tiny cages. The food we eat today isn't something our bodies easily recognize as food, hence the widespread malnutrition when it comes to omega-3 fatty acids.

This article is a little less autobiographical: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22593988/page/2/ Yes, I've got a British edition of my book (and soon a Polish one! ) The Times trashed my book and I've been in the tabloids over there too. It's been a strange and public year. That's not my website, although I do recommend the coital alignment technique. My website is here: http://www.orgasmicdiet.com

Anyone want to dicuss Taoist Yoga: Alchemy & Immortality?
witch replied to MatthewQi's topic in General Discussion
They aren't my findings, they are Dr. Stoll's, someone I met with with the possibility of doing research together. http://archpsyc.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/full/56/5/407 He doesn't go that far, to say malnutrition causes it, but I do. Here is epidemiological data supporting my hypothesis http://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/cgi/conten...act/160/12/2222 Bah! Why am I doing this! I'm going to stop now. I'm tired of fighting, I'm tired. Anyone want to dicuss Taoist Yoga: Alchemy & Immortality?
witch replied to MatthewQi's topic in General Discussion
I am certain that taoist practices can overcome the symptoms of a disease, just like they can overcome feelings of pain, but I'm pretty sure bipolar disorder is partly caused by malnutrition, specifically a deficiency in omega-3 fatty acids. I'm not picking fights, I just happen to know something about this. -
Exactly, I'm a May Day witch! Thank you. Not that there's anything wrong with being a Halloween witch, but not my cuppa.

Oy. It all has to do with dopamine, at least this sort of thing. Meditation raises dopamine. Cutting raises dopamine. Street drugs raise dopamine. Of course the cat disease schizophrenia raises dopamine too, but just because a schizophrenic and a person with natural healthy levels of dopamine may share some similar traits, doesn't mean the latter is sick. I've gotten a lot of criticism from people saying I am putting women at risk, because of course my diet raises dopamine, and people are worried about kundalini psychosis from it. I warned a little about that in my book. But I think if this rising awareness is tied to a similar rising sexual power, that the person will stay grounded. I think it all depends on how it rises. -
"But if you fail the morals test then you are not ready for the next step and you must wait till the council of elders call on you again. " Whew! Well, that lets me out!
