I train in Michael Winn's neidan system and I have experienced much greater clarity, more empathy, a lighter body, less sickness, more understanding of myself and my purpose in life, more intuitive "knowing" of things, more creative energy and much other stuff. That to me seems way more rewarding than some siddhi skills that can send people flying - why would you be interested in those?

When I meditate for more than 20 minutes I get a significant pressure in my third eye. It can build until it almost feels like I have the flu, and I feel knocked out. I started about a month ago with the meditation and the headaches have lasted for two weeks. Perhaps it's related due to my spontaneous kundalini awakening some years back. Somehow, a cup of coffee completely cures it. But I'd like to avoid coffee. Meditation for 2x10 mins also avoids it. But I'd like to meditate for 20+ mins. A couple of times I have had success with imagining that my head is filled with a fluid that slowly starts moving and clearing out blockages and then slowly pours down into my torso and is distributed there instead. But it doesn't always work. I've done the classical stuff like triple heater and standing in stillness. But it's not enough. I can ward of the worst symptoms with some coffee for now, but in the long run I'd like to avoid this altogether. Have any of you used some specific exercises to deal with this?

I'm basically doing mindfulness meditation. Meditating on nothingness/being. Kubba, thanks for the reply. I have talked to a couple of teachers yes, and overall I would say that my awakening is now bringing me great benefits - after I've learned to relax about it, and incorporate some neidan exercises to clear out blockages. -

What's the difference between the two - the tongue position? If so, it's nothing I've ever thought about. I just put my tongue to the dental flesh and that's about it. If you've got the idea from reading Mantak Chia books then my humble opinion is that he really loves details - and a bit too much for my taste .

I think both of these are at play: A certain set of rules exist that ensures that things are pulled in the right direction. A bit like an ecosystem: Atoms come together to form cells, cells eventually form organisms, and organisms eventually evolve into more and more refined entities. Those are the general rules that are laid out: The universe moves towards complexity. But within that frame there is vast opportunity for creative chaos - will, decisions, coincidences - all of it so that evolution doesn't become stale or super-controlled like a Soviet economy. Instead it is a creative, evolving and interdependent web of life that never ceases to surprise itself. Namaste my friends -

This is meant as a thread to warn others so they don't make the same mistake as me. I've been trying on and off to try and flex my PC muscle so that I could orgasm without ejaculating. About a month ago I was masturbating and upon orgasm I flexed as hard as I could. About 5-10 seconds into the experience it was like something "popped" in my belly. It felt like a hole opened with an inwards suction in my belly. Like something got sucked in. There was no pain, just this strange feeling. The next day my belly bulged outwards and was sore. For some reason, my penis is hanging to the left now and seems longer when in a relaxed state. Ever since then I've suffered from premature ejaculation/penile hyper-sensitivity. It doesn't take more than 10-20 seconds after I begin masturbating until I pop, and there is no way I can control it. I used to be the master of personal control in that domain, but no longer. Also, there is like a knot in my stomach when I masturbate and lean back in the couch. I don't have a clue as to what is wrong, or which doctor to contact. They'll probably look at me with a blank stare. My best guess is that I've strained some sort of muscle or nerve in the groin or stomach. And somehow this is connected to the sexual centers and making them overexcited. Or maybe I have developed a weak or over-tense muscle somewhere, and this is causing it. As it is now, I wouldn't recommend PC muscle exercises to anyone. My suggestion would be to try and see if you can use your concentration/mind (no muscle contraction) to separate orgasm from ejaculation instead. So, there it is - a friendly warning for all of you out there. Proceed carefully in this area. You don't want to hurt your best friend .

What are some great books that you've read? Not necessarily with a spiritual content, but just a book that somehow made an impact on you. Or a book that simply entertained you, or that you found readable. We've got a lot of interesting people in here - would be nice to get their input. Perhaps people can be inspired for some new additions to their reading list for the coming summer-vacation . I'll start out: 1984 It's a classic and I'm not ashamed to list this oh-so-obvious book on my list. It's amazing how you can read it seventy years after its first printing and it still gets to you. Some parts of the book just made me shiver with compassion for a man who does not even exist. A Brief History of Everything - Ken Wliber The most impactful book I've ever read. I'll never look at reality the same way again. A Dance With Dragons - George R. R. Martin A different kind of fantasy story - one with moral complexity.

I pulled a muscle the day before yesterday. Something internal in my stomach, it seems. Now the stomach is bulging a bit outwards, and the lower part feels tight. Also there is like a "belt" of tightness around the lower stomach all the way to and including my kidneys. I was trying to flex my PC muscle when it happened. I must have flexed something too hard because suddenly there was like a "suction" inwards in my lower stomach. It felt incredibly strange. There has been no sharp pain really. Just a tightness down there, and a stomach that bulges outwards. And the lower stomach (above penis) bulges a bit inwards it seems. I know, I'm a weird guy . Anyways, I've experimented with using energy attention to calm down the area. Moving an energy ball gently around in the area. Not sure if it's making it better or worse though. Anyone knows the general guidelines for that: Is it good idea, or should I back off until it's healed up - whatever it is that I've strained?

Yep, saw a doctor yesterday. He wouldnt do anything as i have no strong pain and as there's no bleeding. I think somehow the sexual centers have come under pressure and are fatigued. The kidneys have a slight ache. Its hard for me to flex my stomach muscles, so sonewhere in that area something must have been strained. I know the transversus muscle touches on pretty much everything down there, including kidneys and penis, so maybe thats where the problem stems from. Will try to chill and see what happens. Fortunately im leaving on vacation now and can get some rest. But nothing can scare me like when my little friend is in trouble .

Thanks for the replies guys. It really helps to have someone to interact with about this. Man im scared, i must admit. Something must have happened to my penis because it feels hard and dead, without being erect. It scares the fuck out of me. Dont think ill ever do the pc exercise again. I just hope everything heals up well.

To give you the background story, and to warn other people against it, here it is: I've been experiencing with seminal retention for some time now, which by the way works great for conserving energy. During masturbation a couple of days ago I tried to flex the PC muscle when climaxing in order to avoid ejaculation. I haven't put too much training into the PC muscle exercises, so I probably did it the wrong way. After flexing really hard for 5-10 seconds it was like a point in my stomach collapsed inwards (between navel and penis). It's the strangest physical thing I've ever experienced. It wasn't painful at all. It was just like the area collapsed, and got sucked in. I immediately stopped. 30 mins later I thought "what the heck I'll try it again". Stupid fucking me. But this time my penis felt weird, almost retarded. It wouldn't get fully erect, and it behaved oddly as if it was closing to climaxing just 10 seconds into the experience. As the retard that I am, I flexed my PC muscle again, or whatever it is that I managed to flex, and the collapse in the lower stomach happened again. I think I may have hyper-strained the transversus muscle in the stomach, or something similar. The next day my stomach was bulging outwards as described above. And the area above the penis feels tight. There is a belt of tightness stretching around the very lower part of the stomach and out to the kidneys. Probably fits well with the transversus muscle. Also, the penis feels kind of retarded. A morning wood isn't a morning wood, but more like a confused half-wood that is way more excited way more quickly than what is normal. I don't think I've hurt my PC muscle, as that is located closer to the perineum. In such a case the discomfort would be located closer to that point. I don't think that an organ has been squeezed or come under pressure either, as that would be way more painful. My best bet is that it is some sort of internal muscle or ligament has been strained too hard, and then it gave up and collapsed, and is now bulging a bit outwards and putting pressure on other organs in the vicinity, possibly also putting pressure on sexual centers. Three days into it now and the tightness is less extreme, fortunately. The stomach isn't bulging out as much as before. Perhaps a couple of weeks rest with no sexual activity is all that is needed. But fuck it's strange. And there's no real soreness to speak of. Beware when you flex your PC muscle. You shouldn't venture into that ill-prepared.

Thanks a lot guys. I actually did some energy work now and felt a positive effect. I did some ocean breathing in the area. And I did the inner smile with golden liquid to love every part of the body. The area seemed to buzz up a bit, but in a seemingly good way. The area felt a bit warmer, and less hectic. Took a nap and the pressure in the area was less intense afterwards.
