  1. Electric life forms that live on pure energy

Reminds me of these electric snakes that astronauts have seen apparently high in the earth atmosphere...
  2. What can feminism do for men?

I'd add something less boring to this thread but I suck at stories and poetry unfortunately. (btw the two above posts were hilarious and awesome respectively) Yeah, I also see the planets as essential components of the psyche layered with deep meaning on many levels. But at the same time they have mundane significations in astrology since everything in existence is interlinked on a symbolic level. For example a few random things the Moon rules over are beaches, bathtubs, washing mashines, lakes, gardens and baskets. A few examples of what Mars rules over are scissors, traffic interesections, toilets, iron and sweat glands. I remember when transiting Neptune was squaring my Mars (in the 4th house) and the transiting Moon joined in to trigger the dynamic. On that day a leak sprang in a pipe leading to my toilet. I tried some amateur DIY on it but the leak was tricky and persistent. It ended up damaging the appartment below me and we had ongoing mold issues in the bathroom (Neptune+4th house = swamp). That was a textbook mundane manifestation of the transit (Neptune, Mars, Moon, 4th house). On a less mundane level though the Neptune/Mars transit which lasted over a year was erroding (Neptune) my drive/ambition (Mars) and I even suffered "hallucinations" for awhile (classic Neptune) while battling ghosts (Mars square Neptune). While I was having this transit so was Jude Law, the actor, since he has his Mars at the same sign and degree as mine. Funilly enough, at this time he was starring in a West End theatre production in London called "Anna Christie" where he was playing a shipwrecked sailor (classic Neptune/Mars). A big theme in the production is the doom-laden myster and power of the sea itself. (the sea=Neptune)
  3. What can feminism do for men?

That's right. Scorpio is in it's home (domicile) with Mars (yet it's a feminine sign), kind of how like Libra is in it's domicile with Venus (yet it's a Masculine sign). Venus domcile = Taurus (feminine/fixed) and Libra (masculine/cardinal) Mars domicile = Scorpio (feminine/fixed) and Aries (masculine/cardinal) The gender of the sign is more to do with the expression rather than human gender, you could say that the masculine side of Venus expresses as Libra and the feminine side of Mars expresses as Scorpio. The actual human genders are ruled over by Mars and Venus respectively (and the Sun and the Moon to an extent).

I'm not sure about Canada, but here in the UK homosexuality is embraced pretty well. Infact on TV they are represented more than their numbers in the populace (their ratio in the media is much higher than their real ratio in the population). They tend to have trouble in school when they're young, but when they hit college onwards they tend to flourish very well over here.
  5. What can feminism do for men?

On a personal level, I think each astrological sign has it's own male and female archetype so I sort of see the above as Leo, Gemini, Libra and Aries respectively. Masculinity on a fundamental astrological level would relate to the Sun in Leo, Sun in Aries, Mars in Aries, Capricorn and Scorpio since those planets signify men and the signs are their domiciles and exaltations. That's the fundamental level though, I'm sure there's many possible archetypes for personal levels.
  6. What can feminism do for men?

That was a very interesting read, thanks for sharing. It's clear to see how taking away these traditions has a 'negative impact' (to put it lightly) on society. I'm not sure if you're into astrology, but I often look at things astrologically. You can look at a planet's domicile and exaltation to get an idea of where that planet thrives and themes important for what that planet rules over. Mars (the planet ruling over young men/masculine-energy) is in its exaltation in Capricorn, the sign of structure, hierarchy and initiation. I believe these dynamics are important on all levels: spiritual, personal and societal.
  7. What can feminism do for men?

I understand that you're pointing out that it's men that are committing these crimes. But this just further highlights that there are issues for men in society that need addressing. It's harder to notice this when you're looking at the perpetrators instead of the victims. In tribal cultures boys go through initiations and rites of passage etc. and they don't worry about crime. Maybe there is something like this missing from our culture.
  8. What can masculinism do for women?

@Bagua I'm not a fan of societal programming either. I always thought society was trying to neutralise the gender differences though, shows how a lot of it is to do with subjective perception.
  9. What can feminism do for men?

Teal Scott "The Divine Feminine vs The Divine Masculine". Worth a watch.
  10. What can masculinism do for women?

An oxford professor who is a specialist in autistic spectrum disorders (which mainly affects boys) did a study which has been replicated where newborn infants are shown either a picture of a car or a human face. Overwhelmingly boys would look at the car for longer and girls would look at the face. These studies are "taboo" in the mainstream nowadays though and if you take gender studies in university at this time you are taught that gender is a social construct regardless of these studies (which they won't mention). I'm getting the impression that some people don't want to feel constrained by their gender and so they choose to see it more as a construct. I understand this view as trying to embody the higher truth in which we are all the one genderless supreme being. Unfortunately, since we are incarnated in the world of polarity I have yet to see anyone pull this off to any real merit and it seems to just remain an abstraction wrought with real world issues. Personally, I embrace my masculine polarity and have felt it very strongly while doing semen retention, testicular breathing, condensing jing etc. so when I hear that gender is just a social construct it really just rolls off me like water off a ducks back since I have felt the masculine polarity in myself so strongly. I understand though that this can be gritty jing animalistic stuff and can be very uncomfortable for some especially if we're used to neglecting the "lower realms" for the "higher".
  11. What can feminism do for men?

I'm not sure about men being 80% more likely to foreclose on loans and evict people. I haven't seen that statistic anywhere, is that true? You must be implying that if more women were in positions of power in banking that this wouldn't happen. Men commit more murders and are more likely to rob others, that's established and widely known despite their victims mainly being male. Also men are 3x more likely to commit suicide than women. Do these facts imply that all is well and good in the world of men and we should ignore these issues and just focus on feminism? I'm not sure if that's the point you're making.
  12. What can masculinism do for women?

I mentioned in another thread some statistics. Men are 80% more likely to be homeless than women, 3 times more likely to commit suicide, 2/3 homicides are male victims and more robberies, assaults and general violence are perpetrated against men. Boys are now also underperforming in schools compared to girls. This might point to there being something awry for men in our society which mainly focuses on womens issues to whatever effect. And trying to tame the masculine by denying gender differences is only going to strengthen the shadow in the long run.
  13. What can masculinism do for women?

I'm just going to drop this David Deida vid here called "Exploring the Masculine Search for Freedom and the Feminine Search for Love". Worth a listen if you have an hour to spare.
  14. What can feminism do for men?

I mentioned in a previous pitted thread how estrogen seeks these testosterone characteristics in men and it was showcased as one of the offensive quotes . You have to be careful how you word these things, but you put it in a more digestible way than I did which is good.
  15. What can feminism do for men?

I thought more people knew that the pay gap was a myth by now, but I guess it's taking it's taking a long time to enter the mainstream consciousness.
  16. What can feminism do for men?

Men are 80% more likely to be homeless than women, 2/3 homicides are male victims and men are much more likely to be victims of robbery, assaults and general violence. The above issues are generally seen as humanist issues though. I wonder if there would be benefit in turning them into 'masculinist' issues? I'd be curious how a thread titled "What can masculinism do for women?" would perform on this forum. I'm not starting it though...
  17. What can feminism do for men?

Beautifully put, I hope the irony is not lost on anyone
  18. What can feminism do for men?

I saw this on "Yahoo Answers" and found it quite funny. Thought I'd share here:
  19. What can feminism do for men?

Karen Straughan has a pretty decent channel on Youtube where she talks sense about these issues: A couple of her vids (skip the first few minutes of introductions etc.):
  20. Who "Sees" the Dragon Eye?

People can and have been influenced in positive ways from visions and beings. I don't see why this equates to damaged Shen and Jing unless you become obsessed with that realm to the detriment of your physical life. There's also countless examples of people being changed for the better after undergoing ayuhasca or ibogaine ceremonies for example which contain many visions and are laced with meaning.
  21. Who "Sees" the Dragon Eye?

From http://www.biroz.net/words/looking-with-lizard-eyes.htm "Looking With Lizard Eyes - Coming To Terms With Reptilian Intelligence" "I first read about Reptilian Intelligence in ‘The Way of The Shaman’ by Michael Harner way back in the early 90s. In the opening chapter, he recounts an ayahuasca experience in which he travels to the edge of the Universe and meets some winged reptilian creatures who offer him power and control of the whole world. On recounting this to his shaman teacher, the old man chuckles and replies ‘Oh, they always say that. Take no notice of them.’ In this story can be found the seeds of the whole mandala: at the edge of the Universe, there exist reptilian creatures who tempt the seeker with great power..." "What did they want with me? Perhaps more appropriately, what did deep archetypal animal aspects at the edge of my own humanity want with the conscious self that insists it is in control? I made several realisations over the next few weeks…" Makes for interesting reading.
  22. Who "Sees" the Dragon Eye?

Hmm.. very interesting. Can't say they're the friendliest eyes in the world and my friend even described it as "evil looking". I guess that has something to do with the connotations of the reptiallian brain. But I wonder why that is waiting for us on the other side of the proverbial machine? I hear a lot about reptiles and lizards showing up and ayahuasca ceremonies. Might be a connection there.
  23. Who "Sees" the Dragon Eye?

Why a lizard eye though? The ones I've seen are distinctly lizard like and very detailed.
  24. Who "Sees" the Dragon Eye?

wtf... I was just talking to my friend about this 3 days ago. I've seen it about 5 times in meditation when I go into the void. My sister's husband told me he's seen it without me even asking although he initially described it as a Lion's eye. I said I get the same thing but I see it as a lizard's eye and he said "Yes! It's more like a Lizards actually". And my friend saw it the other day when I told him to close his eyes and go into the void (he doesn't know much about meditation). He told me he saw a lizard eye. I never even told him about me seeing it before. Any theories?
  25. I've been doing Robert Bruce's N.E.W. Energy Ways on my feet and ankles every morning for a couple of weeks. I've noticed a general increase in physical energy, feeling like I have more jing. But yesterday I was feeling a little bit ungrounded for whatever reason, so I decided to just put my awareness in my feet for awhile. Moments later, my feet began to feel extremely pleasurable and the feeling spread up my legs and into most of my body. I laid down areas of my body would feel this intense physical bliss sensation. It was getting too much so I sat down on the computer to try and distract myself, but then I became very restless. The restlessness became so intense that my legs were shaking like mad and my eyes were going wild and wide unconsciously because of the pressure of this restless energy. So I sat down to meditate and silence and emptiness to calm myself down, and about 2 minutes later a hot visceral energy rises up in my spine and into my heart where all of this blissful pleasurable energy is pouring into it effectively giving me a heart orgasm in the center of my chest and the back of my spine. I tried to stop it as I was concerned it might turn into a full blown Kundalini episode. Eventually it died down. But it was probably the 3rd most intense feeling I've ever had in my life. And all from good ol' Robert Bruce's NEW Energy ways.
