I didn't feel anything directed at me HE. I'm just in the mood for pondering things like this. What would have changed had the real story of the tomb of Osiris come out and why bother not telling it in the first place? And why bother building stucco film sets every time one wants to explain artifacts? There are some honking lies in the history business, one I can think of right off is Piltdown man. And there seem to me to be lots of conspiracy theorists around most topics. But maybe they hang around historical stuff more because it's hard enough in the first place to figure out what you might be looking at, let alone what it was for, how it worked, where it came from and when:-)

"Chi King and Nei Kung. I dare someone give me a distinction between the two." Oh no! I will have to accept that dare. I don't mind showing myself up if it gets someone else to give the proper definition :-) As far as I have understood 'Nei Kung' is purely internal (as opposed to 'Wei' anything at all, so no 'external' movement whatsoever) So the first idea I have about 'Nei Kung' is that there is nothing external about it. The second thing I figure about Nei Kung is that it uses specific 'forms' that are intentionally invoked/cultivated in order to effect changes in the overall human system. As far as I can tell, the forms range from emotions, to visualisations/thought forms to leading intent with no 'form' applied per se. If I were to state the 'biggest' difference between 'Nei Kung' and 'Chi Kung' it would have to be the application of intentional forms. 'Chi Kung' in my current understanding may include both internal and external 'movements' and does not apply intentional forms, just awareness, but does indeed lead it, through intent into patterns of awareness. And why bother doing that? Well, my current understanding is that if you don't 'force' or rather 'cultivate' patterns of awareness, you might end up missing something :-) Why? Well, I have an idea about that too but I won't get into it here because it's to do with the 'e-word'...Then there's that whole more recent stuff about neural pathways and left-right brain hemisphere balancing, but then I'd be mixing up references a bit too much :-)

"Master Ng said if one inhaled thru the crown he would need to be there to tweak it." That's interesting! Did you ask him why? I think the general 'advice' I've seen/read/heard is to avoid 'going for' higher-up stuff until you have a firm grasp of the lower down stuff.

"much of which is very good and not all conspiracy" I keep wondering "why bother" with conspirational (sp?) stuff when it comes to history? There's that old saw that "history is written by the victors" and I suppose i can see a 'use' for it in the past (ironically :-)) when people were perhaps less curious and gobbed it all much more easily. Now it seems (IMO) folks are becoming conspiracy theorists left right and centre. Or maybe that's just North American's I wonder to what extent it's really worth doing any revisionist treatment of anything much. I mean you end up having to admit it at some point further down the road, so why bother? And especially about Egyptian tombs and gods and practices. Would the truth (that they'd been had and they were all just playing a silly game with little serious practice value to it ;-)) really upset the Freemasons that much?

"I think the core is power relations not gender relations. For instance the word 'man' actually originally meant someone who managed ... usually land" Finally :-)

Yes Mr MH, I do think that advice was given to people to bring them back after such forays :-) Thanks kindly for it. However, I was pondering the 'non-manifest' this morning over coffee and if you think about it, do 'thoughts' count as manifest or non-manifest? Sorry, I just thought I'd throw that one out there :-) If they count as non-manifest then people are indeed a weird mix of the manifest and the non-manifest IMO but I'm not sure they find that weird. It's only weird if you start thinking about it IMO/IME :-)

do you have to be a zen master to be successful with women?
Birch replied to Non's topic in General Discussion
I reckon it's worth getting into. I guess to understand each other. In fact, one of the reasons I LOVE TTB's is because the guys on here are very open about love and sex (and of course the rest:-)) so I found it helped me to appreciate them (the men) more than if I had just hung out with a bunch of frustrated women (which I don't, but you get the idea :-)) Also, my practices seriously jigged my "2nd chakra" (back) into shape and as a result I finally felt like I could empathize with men who have their sex drive going through the roof and nowhere to put it (so to speak ). So I guess that brought me closer to men too. -
"If a man comes 3 times in a row " Oh that I would wish for more of those :-) ----TMI alert -----

Interesting post 5ET. I'd tend to agree with you about prana/chi and kundalini. I'd also caution people to be careful what they wish for because IME, if K wants you, she'll get you whatever you're doing or have done. And she'll show you what you have done up in your face in 4D, just so you can hear and see properly. You think she's 'yours'. Go and do and then come back and tell how much of you is left. Ripe tomato. I guess. Resolution. I like like that much better :-) Being a ripe tomato. As good as being a green one. ---metaphor alert -------

"people have become so thoroughly convinced" Which people? I reckon the TTB folks are maybe not the folks you mean? Have you spoken with GIH (Gold is heavy?) I think the extent to which people are convinced might be the extent to which they need to question things. Or worse.
-
Yey for GIH! Yes, counts as cheerleading. Another reason not to talk to people about these things :-) Oh, I should add, Aaaron, as soon as you're back from it, you 'may' wish to reassure your former self about what 'really' happened. Don't let yourself get caught by the ists Or GIH, or myself for that matter
-
Well I figure there's a bit of that in there somewhere mr MH. But IME if you can get past the abject terror of it, 'get used to it' (hence the damn breathing exercises ;-)) then it gets better and then you, um, sort of forget about it to get on with things but at the same time you remember. And then you have the weight of the entire universe 'backing you'. But you still forget sometimes. And then someone else comes along and reminds you again. Because not all of you has ever really forgotten. Well at least it feels that way to me- doesn't mean it's true. Never does. The other day I bumped into an old friend (well it felt that way). No matter that my 'old friend' is probably only 1 or 2 years old. But we shouted out our respective 'heyas' and all was well. That was weird. It's all pretty weird IMO/IME.

Moving vid Stig! I really have few ideas about witches, but I did read an intriguing perspective on them in "The Value of Nothing" http://rajpatel.org/2009/10/27/the-value-of-nothing/ Would seem, according to this author, that the number of 'witches' murdered (or in more recent times, 'cases of witchcraft') increases when there are issues with land ownership. The author links this with the destruction of 'commons' in a pretty interesting fashion. As an aside, IMO if you put anything on a pedestal, you're more or less setting it up to fall down at some point. The 'feminine' is therefore 'low'. My 2 cts.

Ah, I love being told that I am the problem/part of it. I'm no Eckart Tolle fankid, unfortunately. Yes I know that my conditioned self has a tendency to pop itself out in varying degrees of manifestation when I least expect it, like gopher game at a circus. Am I concerned? Should I be concerned? I dunno, I've given up being other than I am- although I cultivate good breathing habits and try to cultivate better thinking habits. I think the reference made to knowledge was about conditioning. In Taoism, as far as my small experience goes, you drop knowledge of this type in order to uncover the real you. Which, apparently knows more about lots of things than the accumulated knowledge type of "you"
-
"!! Of what use is this knowledge?" Well VMarco has some use for it. As did much (most?) of the Western monotheisms? Do I have any use for it? No, except maybe to explain some "hows". People's creation stories are important IMO because they also mean to tell people how to live now. Do people need to be told? I don't know. I don't think they do, but that's just my opinion.

do you have to be a zen master to be successful with women?

Go on a forum where lots of women complain about their lack of success with men. You might find some very similar things going on. I think people want to meet each other but somehow they've convinced themselves of all kinds of BS about it. I think. My 2 cts -
You're asking people what to think??? Well, obviously if your current line of thinking is upsetting you then maybe think of something else? I dunno that cutting off thoughts is the way to go. I think there's debate about that. Are the disturbing thoughts any more important than anything else? Or there's the sour grapes approach. You don't want her anyway because (find reason, there's always a few:-))

I don't know what's up but I do think that if lots of people think something's up then something will be up. The more you think it's so, the more you think it's so. Stockmarket, anyone? I reckon this disclosure thing is a semi-messianic attempt to get folks united in some way. It would be interesting to find out what "stuff" has been hidden from people but that's just curiosity on my part. I'd rather we got on with not messing up our ecosystem quite so much. Did I also mention reducing poverty and armed warfare? Of course if "disclosure" brings about cool things like free and clean energy (y' know, the stuff used to power the saucers) I'm in...
-
"Astral" planes aside, I reckon there's always something happening in the intangible world. Systems being redefined, stuff being (re)discovered. What might not tend to change is what people want to do such things for. Stuff like security, prowess maybe (if we could just get all those folks to spend hours in meditative introspection instead;-)) I'm not so secretly hoping that some of the changes bring forth a healthier relationship with environmental resources and reduce armed conflict and poverty. If the "astral" planes are listening then they should get their act together:-) So maybe better not to wait for them:-)

Is that really you Witch??? If so, I for one am glad whatever it was brought you back here:-) As for the wind, I'm only on the very tail-end. Happy to have a house that survived. Wonder how other folks went through it.

I'll add "scientific method" but IMO (hehehe) it has to be freakin clear and use pretty much what Steve just suggested. I'll add "body awareness" because IME/IMO i can fool my mind, but my body has pretty much the evidence "incarnate":-) IME it's hugely tolerant of me but will ( and does) cut me down to size when i do too much. I should add it also goes further than i think:-)

Or a bacon sandwich and think about it all later.
