What do you mean?

Thanks for the long reply Susan! I appreciate the time you're taking with folks on this forum. "Spiritual emergency and chi psychosis are both in the DSMV-IV." I have my own pretty particular opinion of the DSMV that I won't get into here :-) "It is probably most often misdiagnosed like other things that are not in public awareness or not very common. It is difficult to avoid being mis-categorized." To me, this says more about faulty categories :-) "It is unfortunate what happened to you and it seems to affect you deeply still your original experience. I wish that was less common but it is not. This is why I formed the Kundalini Support Network back in 2002 or so for people who are or were like you." I don't see it as "unfortunate" but I do see it as "avoidable" - or at least something to mitigate. "My own experience was awesome in a terrifying way but also awesomely beautiful. I am in the minority who had positive experiences over all without having any support system in place. One explanation has been I have racked up enough good karma points over many lifetimes to have this unfold in that way but I know there are those who do suffer. But, as we already said, those who have the positive experience we dont hear much about in the West." I don't believe in "karma points" and past lives and don't need to. :-) "Weird as hell is an understatement and when you get in the company of about 20-50 people who all have similar stories to share it doesn't seem so weird anymore. But when you talk about these experiences it makes non k people as uncomfortable as hell. The responses can be they ignore you because they think you are an uneducated idiot or insane and will often attack you. I speak out anyway so people know they aren't alone." Agreed that there are a lot of experiences that "go against" consensual reality. But really, if you start talking to people in general, you'll tend to find weirdness cropping up as an everyday occurrence. But because it doesn't "fit" with what we've learned in "grey world" it immediately gets discarded. Meanwhile our movies are getting more and more fantasy-laden. I think that's both funny and sad "Glenn was adamant about not talking about these things in public for these very reasons. He was attacked also viciously for his ideas about kundalini and ridiculed for years." By who? "My heart breaks when I hear about people who do suffer. I want to bring the aura of normalcy, that this is a normal process of development but to even say that in public raises ill will." Think about why this might be. I mean either it's "evolution" or at least a "natural" human thing or it's not. "It also reinforces that people should hide themselves so they don't become a victim of a witch hunt. Glenn and I used to talk about the one day people who could be more freer about what is happening." Well, this is why I love TTB's :-) But to be honest, the "cloak and dagger" teachers are doing that ideal a disservice IMO. "Re: If you were an a$$hole before kundalini, after kundalini you become wide and gaping. I heard that verbatim from him more than once.. Looking deeper into that comment meant that kundalini amplifies character traits and not just the negative ones." I think there's some disagreement as to whether K enhances or destroys personality "The upgrade just refers to the quality of the energy not the person. It's like exchanging a fire stick for a laser." Oh. I guess I just can't tell the difference. "You are not the little red ford fiesta.2 That's sweet of you Susan, but I'm hardly a Guzzi yet either ;-) "The fact that you have these kind of observations and questions are evidence of kundalini working through you." Maybe, I'd rather not accept a statement like that though. Although it's somewhat flattering to imagine. Either it is or it isn't. I don't think it requires my belief. edits for typos

I don't buy the human=neuroses. IMO that's just yet another attempt at separation and evasion of personal responsability (and, incidentally, the power that goes with.) "It weren't me officer, it were me neuroses acting out again". For me. the "uncarved block" is the reality of a human being who is no longer pretending (or to be kinder, has "realized") that they "have" this "quality" and that "fault" and this "neuroses" and that "issue" and this "blockage" and that "character defect". Is it so hard to admit that one can sometimes be an a44hole and sometimes be kind and sometimes only do what one wants to others' detriment? And also be kind and loving and compassionate, ye know "whole"? Further, IMO and small experience the "ego" equates with exactly the type of false self that is exhorting itself all the time to be other than it really is (paradoxically in order to avoid harm to self, but it does a really bad job because it's always reading yesterday's newspapers). My opinion of Te is that it is the "properties" of the true self. Exercising Te in the world is the natural unfolding of one's true "properties" as human. I would guess that a cat has "cat Te" and a horse "horse Te".

I must be a rebel. For me "morality" is what gets served up when you forget how to be human. Moralizations are IMO a poor substitute for just knowing when something is "the right thing". I've also seen it applied as an avoidance of the need to understand a situation or someone else. I see far too many people attempting to find and apply formulaic stuff like "morality" and to be frank, it irritates me even more than people who just spontaneously act out of their own non-introspected egoism. But I suppose there's nothing better than feeling righteous, right? It's an easy win when everyone else is wrong and religion will endorse you all the way:-) No offense intended to anyone:-)

Awesome stuff. So it would seem that at the centre of every spiral galaxy there is a black hole? Those things are massive space/time-bending vortex-have-you-for-breakfast I wonder what happens after you fall into one?

Oh yeah then there's "kundalini recognizes itself in another being so for us it can be easier to tell one another apart" I dunno about this one. Sure, I can sense somewhat when people are persisting in their own little delusions that they seem to take for reality (shame I can't do it quite as well for myself yet ) --steps back into small red crappy car

" It doesn't mean though that people are popping up with k symptoms everywhere. I would say it is very small. It is just the company we keep that we hear more about it." Righto. But what about the people that get hit by it and go consult some kind of psych or neuro-doc? My personal guess is if I went to see someone with "classic" med-school/psych training and started "splaining" things about movements of consciousness, being, dimensionality of mind, thought-objects and whatnot, they'd figure me for a nutcase (and this is without the weirdo stuff I once posted on here, glad I nixed that ) Besides, there are some aspects of this whole thing that are distinctly, well, weird as hell. I haven't noticed the "upgrade" yet. I was awesome to begin with Where's that Glen quote about becoming an even bigger a44hole ?

Thanks for making this important point Susan "Kundalini does open spontaneously at times during other events. Sometimes during Reiki, cranio sacral therapy, chiropractic, massage, inner cultivation practices, and also traumatic things like PTSD and emotional trauma, physical damage to the spine like an accident, or extreme grief, birth, drug use...etc. Anything that heightens the Flight or Fight response (huge adrenaline release) or puts you into deep relaxation and alignment has the potential to do so." "help keep the process smooth" -oh yes, couldn't agree more "Make sure they understand about what kundalini really is. " And how does one evaluate their understanding? What if a person (cough cough, not that I'd ever refer to personal experience ) gets kicked into a K experience without knowing what the hell it is themselves? If all of the things you mentioned are liable to kick off K, then with all of these alt health practices and seeking attainments of all sorts going on, the probability of having a bunch of ungrounded K-awakening people around the place would seem to be pretty high these days. I say it's worth being very very open about K. I'd even go so far as to suggest there's a certain "responsibility" that goes with. Oh, plus it seems attempting to warn people off going there "too fast" just fuels their desire... The trainwreck stories IMO do serve to temper things...

Objective vs subjective symptoms of a TIA - CVA
Birch replied to sifusufi's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the link. Didn't seem to clarify anything much though. Except maybe the other news anchor's interpretation. It also didn't mention any electric blue currents I'm still totally unable to explain that one. The shaktipat people can explain it better. -

Yup, Susan mentioned something about dyslexia and the like. Makes sense to me. I say K is ripping you a "new" nervous system, but IMO there's no guarantee that it will be "better" than the old one. That's why IMO (and small experience) cultivation throughout is very worthwhile (if not downright essential). I see K as an extreme neuroplasticity event, not unlike epilepsy. I mentioned to another bum that I had some suspicions about it being "adult onset epilepsy" (in psych-jargon). -
I dunno Hundun. I think many paths have much to offer and the less inconvenience that comes with (i.e. rabid fervent bigots) IMO the better:-) Besides, as far as I can tell, becoming enlightened pretty automatically puts one in heresy- of pretty much everything. Which, I reiterate, is the point. Otherwise, just give me your buddha script and I'll see what I can do to make you believe something:-)

Wonderful post Taomeow! Also pointing very nicely to the (IMO) more subtle sense of "duality" in Taoism as opposed to Logic-based approaches. Loved it:-)

I dunno man, he sure is giving it a godawful rep from my perspective. Besides, isn't one "allowed" to be free from religion as much as anything else? I thought that was the whole point of "liberation". If it's only "liberating" in ways other people tell me it is then it ain't. Do you get it?

You seem to be caught in a never-ending loop of the desire to tell others what "their" problems are. Is that what buddhists do for a living? If so, I don't like them. They could have a point but they're totally lacking in skill to apply it. Go get some skill man, it might help you and your religion both I'm taking full advantage of the fact that I have never projected even an ounce of wisdom on TTB's to tell you to GFYSLF (I may be banned for the acronym, but I don't care ) Seriously man, I'm not a buddhist and never will be. Give up

Whatevs dude. Thing is I LIKE where I am, and I LIKE the people and I LIKE my life and I LIKE oh so many things that I couldn't begin to explain. There's a time and a place to be dead, this is not one of them. Hey, I could be the first non-buddhist to reach a deal with "enlightenment". Yup, seems like a good idea. Now be off with you and your silly ways And if my 5E has it down, you shall do so despite your sputtering and stammering "BS". With thanks

GTH Mr V. I'm very serious. You ever had your entire self disappear? Was it fun? Personally, it was fun once. And give up on me with your Buddha BS BS. Thank you Respect my path mate, and I'll respect yours.

My personal experience (which is all I know) is that "my" kundalini fully rising will result in "my" destruction. It's dropped off a couple of times. Got it back. Because I neither fear (nor dishonor) myself, I have decided to stall my own "K" progess. If it "needs" to happen faster, who am I to get in it's way? Besides, all I really want (and have ever wanted) is a neat life experience with love, laughter, prosperity, friendship, good health and some kind of role in being a force for beneficial (as opposed to evil) stuff If I'm all disappeared in the void, not much I can do :-) Unless Unless folks can operate from da void, but then there wouldn't be any ff-ing point in being incarnate in the first place...idiots

Interesting story. Thank you!

I think this is where silence is very very useful I don't know what being a good person is. I do know what trying to be a good person is and IME that often falls very short of what anyone wants. I'm fuddling about with working on "doing the right thing". Certainly IME being under no obligation to "be" good is helpful towards that end.
