  1. I don't think there's nearly enough said on this idea. What did our grandmothers (and grandfathers) come into the world with? What was the world they came into? What is evolution? Ok, you get the general drift. What I do like about TTB's is that there's a lot less of the "'nuff said" stuff when it comes to such questions as one (me) might find elsewhere. Like Huffpost, although I quite like some of the comments there. And IMO one shouldn't confuse "'nuff said" with "Yikes, I actually have no idea". Unless you really do have an excellent idea and are just being a stinge
  2. Nothing like full-on self-indulgent narcissist BS to attract the wimmin. Jeez Non. How long have you been down this road? Seems far too long to me. No-one is going to change for you. Until, well, you know the rest... Sorry if that sounds horrible. I guess I could pull up a stanza or 2 of the TTC to back me up, but I think you get my general idea.
  3. What are you listening to?

Huh. She looks like Tom Cruise That's not my kind of "inner smile" but... caveat: "What are you listening to?" does not equal "what do you like".
  4. "It is because they did not receive enough love when they were young and now that they are grown up, they would ignore the truth and love in themselves and seek to find the love which they lacked outside themselves. Pretty pathetic, if you ask me. " Yup. I'm pretty pathetic. Seriously, I didn't receive enough love when I was young and that really caused a lot of problems. Not my fault (although some would beg to differ) "Truth" is something I can deal with, paradoxically. And it sometimes (mostly?) has nothing whatsoever to do with "love"
  5. What are you listening to?

Definite squaring of circles here. And I wonder. I wonder if sometimes it might be because of too much -- uh-oh --- "attachment"? Otherwise, why square circles or try to catch rainbows, or attempt to explain "love" or...oh wait. Here's the weird vid. I could be wrong (as usual) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cCj5o2k130&NR=1&feature=fvwp I liked this one better at the time
  6. What are you listening to?

Direct line from t'other thread. Bonkers girl, but I quite like it.
  7. Alright, I'll make it easier for ya'll. I want (bearing in mind this is just me, and not ALL women :-)): - Someone I don't have to take care of, worry about, pay for, explain everything to ( ) - Someone who knows when to leave me alone and when not to (yes, that one seems to be particularly difficult :-)) - Someone who takes care of themselves physically. Sound superficial? Sorry - Someone who is kind :-) - Someone who practices would be nice but it depends where they're at (practicing people can be really AWFUL sometimes :-)) - Someone I can have interesting conversations with Yup, that's about it Thanks Center for the opportunity
  8. I'll PM you. It's my deepest darkest secret, remember
  9. I love how these thread about "what women want" don't actually involve asking any women. They're fun to watch though I liked Cat's post. Oh yeah, but wait, someone will come along and tell me what I want what I really really want, I wanna... (sorry for random "Britpop" reference) because that is my deep and darkest secret, or something or other. Oh wait, I'm too "old" to be in this thread
  10. "siddhis are just siddhis.. they don't belong to the CIA or buddhism or taoism anymore than the sun belonging to your or me.." Agree! Interesting notion that the appropriation of such would be...oh wait "as for the rest of your post, well if you have a more truthful version of human history than the one I have learnt over the years, I am all ears..." "More truthful" Well, ain't that a doozer Hang around here enough and you'll find out all kinds of truths (and stuff, and cake)
  11. Consciousness vs. Subconsciousness

I don't know which ones are "hardwired" and which are not although we could make some guesses about survival, reproduction etc but that's a big step to take IMO. "Are certain instincts perhaps impossible to reprogram" Good question.
  12. "The human race is among the most inferior races of sentient beings, if not the most inferior race itself." Uh-oh. Now I'm offended. However, you're possibly onto something Mr Bof. But I don't believe for a second that humans "are" inferior but that they've/we've/I've become that way When/how/why? Many stories and theories around. Be careful which ones you believe and which you don't And be especially careful WHY you choose some to believe and others not to be believe. I'd say if you're looking for "CIA" style siddhis, go join the CIA, it's really that simple They probably teach the more hardcore stuff
  13. Central channel in the body

Awesome pics! Thanks Vortex and Trunk Just imagining how old this stuff is tends to blow my mind (in a good way )
  14. Consciousness vs. Subconsciousness

Nah, IMO you're on the right track. I think/have sort of worked out that: "Removing the emotional connection to the idea" = yes and then the ideas (tend to be a net of them) linked to that first idea - which wasn't one, but you made it up to "explain" things to yourself, how unfortunate would that you become it! In many respects, IMO (and small experience) the subconscious keeps "you" safe so "winning it over" might not be a great idea. However, thanking it for keeping you safe (whether the danger is real or imagined) and then consciously moving on to take mindful action might be a way to proceed. The other issue is of course "stored" trauma - every cell remembers, hence the "through the body techniques" used in a lot of the stuff in "practices".
  15. Relocating

Sure, but can you imagine how weird and discombobulating (sp?) that feeling is? I'm sure lots of people here have had something similar. I'd just advise a regular psychologist and some decent grounding exercises (the salt bath thing) as well as some relaxation and forgetting ALL about this "black-magic" stuff. Is it so hard to admit that our culture might have produced some insane effects on people?? And they're not (all) out of choice IMO. And i can't say whether I "chose" to be born into this life, because I can't remember So yeah, get thee to a psychologist (a decent one) and work through your stuff.
  16. Calling all weather magicians

Sending relevant effects your way. Any way you could leave for a while? To the place outside the orange part?
  17. I don't think you get pick-choosy on that one. Unless...
  18. What level would that be? The reason there's no need for fear is because it is a (useless for some) emotion that keeps a person in check. My 2 cts
  19. Central channel in the body

"health stuff can/will come up, emotional issues.... And yes: all this can be dangerous. It can be very intense, it can be hard, many many stuff can and will come up. In a physical way as well as in the psyche." What JuJu said But as usual, this probably will not stop anyone. Once started, better to finish? If people want to do this stuff they'll do it but I really think (after having done it) that there are safer methods. Many of them are discussed here. In fact most of the foundational stuff is "out there" at this point and only requires practice.
  20. Well, yes. I just tried explaining that in my very unhelpful manner. I also have memories of those little square pink Mr Kipling cakes with mushy stuff in the middle. I didn't really like them, but one from time to time with a cup of tea was alright. Probably wouldn't write a book about it though
  21. I mean that from my understanding so far there's no "spirit inside of body trying to get out" but rather the spirit and the body (I guess I should include "mind" somewhere in there too) are all "one thing" but expressed in different ways (I've seen the term "vibrations") that interact with each other. Um, this sounds fairly embarrassing to say, but basically I've come to understand matter as a sort of "condensed" form of "spirit" or "consciousness"- not unlike "condensed milk" - quick, phew, threw in a cake-reference Anyway, for me, any stories that insist upon separation of mind/body/spirit/consciousness - however good the plot line or scientific-sounding they are are IMO intended to maintain the illusion. And why is the illusion there in the first place? Well, each story we get to read goes into some detail about that one, but I really don't know.
  22. Best book on Tantra?

"Why the insecurity of belief?" I reckon it's a way of providing identity for some people as well as a way of dealing with the world. So if I can consistently get you to argue with me about my beliefs, it means I must be saying something "true" - which is very reassuring.
  23. Very old story I have found (so far) that not feeding the buggers helps quite well As does seeing the physical body as a kind of an awesome thing rather than a prison.
