I just reread that post about "destiny" and it certainly posed a problem for me. I feel I need to go away from this question for a while. For all my questions, there are too many answers ;-) Many of them with an agenda. I do want to learn and I'm finding the attempt at learning an experience in and of itself.

Thanks for the evaluation. Then I must be something right;-)

I guess what I'd like to know (from female perspectives) is: -what do you think makes the essence of a woman (tough question, I know)? I really don't know to explain it but I know it when I see it. - the unresolved freud question, "what do women want?". Depends on the woman. - How do you perceive your own power (over males or otherwise)? Power over myself first. Then be good to others - what do you think that power consists of? ("power" for lack of a better word that is). Something people give you - in a more "dark side of the moon" note, what power DO you feel you have over males? If I turn "it" on they seem to get all weird. They don't otherwise. "It" is the thing I can't explain but I know when I 'm doing it. Being good to people probably.

Well the way I see it is it's not "my kundalini" in the first place. If you're talking about "snaky" sensations (actually more "wormy" in my limited experience - see my forum) then I guess that I have had experiences. It was kind of fun to read Cat's bum burning episode (not that I don't sympathize;-)) because the first time I had class where a transmission was given, I definitely felt the burn. Yes I burned my tailbone. I already mused that it could be just suggestion but there have been some pretty clear repeat experiences with other "chakras" so I would graciously concede that something else is going on and that Santi is doing something very interesting. Other experiences outside class that I have had are more A&P type things. I'd had those prior to KAP. Dan Ingram's stuff was good for that. So was reading Thich Nat Hanh (sp?) and that Zen and the Brain book. I think I also managed to unground myself when I started doing yoga, meditation and qi-gong DIY. I'd also had some reiki which I still think tipped me over. KAP actually helped to resolve a lot of issues, a major one being the acceptance of sensations, however weird. That in and of itself is a good takeaway. From KAP I've retained MCO, some of the Tibetan stuff, secret smile, grounding techniques, a sense of what to do with different types of energy (because that's what/all it is) and a strong sense of being responsible for many of my own states. There are also others that are just passing through. I'm sure this doesn't represent the classic "freight train" rush that is often reported and to be honest, I'm pretty pleased that I haven't gone through anything like that yet ;-) Something of interest to add is that Kundalini Awakening Process actually started out (I think, Santi can confirm) being called "Kundalini Rejuvenating Process" which IMO has a different set of expectations. What those were (or are) would be interesting to check out. So is "my" kundalini awake or rejuvenated? What do you think?

Why is creativity considered a feminine trait when women don't create anything except babies?
Birch replied to Agape's topic in General Discussion
Lest we forget. Sex = biology Gender = social construct Pretty much anyone can get knocked up (or knock someone up) and drop a kid on the floor. Being a mother or a father is a whole different thing. Taoism would point me in the general direction of a way of orienting myself in society based on my biology. So what happens when society is f8cked? -
Drew, if I didn't know better, I'd suspect you're totally sucking off Witch. Isn't that your definition of perv?

I don't believe I'm weak. I was told I was. I was also told I'm nothing "without a man". I was also told that I "should be dependent". I was also told that "true love is filling a lack". By myself I'm nothing. Ah, the irony! Sometimes I see that together we become nothing! No wonder some of us are afraid. I don't want my life to end! Cultivation for me is learning to be, shifting between being and nothing. Love will tear us apart, again. Awesome song by Joy Division;-) -

"You've got nothing to apologize about." I wasn't apologizing, I was showing you some care and compassion and feeling. Nuance. Yes I guess a forum is a weird place to do it. Our lives are so much online that I reckon we ought to bring more feeling where there can sometimes seem to be none. And you're right, we all have our paths through it all. Thank you for your kind words. -
"mediums or possessed" I don't think that it's necessarily a "bad" thing. After all, isn't union with Tao or "wu-wei" something like becoming a "medium" for "it" to act in the world? Getting out of one's own way? "possession" being akin to "psychosis", I'd say there could be just as many possessed men as women. I was reading a very nice book by Rollo May the other day. It was about daemons (yes, same as demons) and what happens when a person doesn't live right by his or her daemon. Just because Wikipedia is there (I'm not saying I endorse what follows;-)) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daimonic

Blasto, I'm so sorry. I didn't know. And no (for bystanders) I'm not being horrible. I've been betrayed myself and it was awful. It's sometimes hard to keep my heart open as a result. -

This is fun! Lots of guys talking about what women do. None of them asking any women what they actually do... I'd almost bet that you don't actually want to know -
Hey Santi Some interesting stuff going on with the KAP discussions! How are you?

Hey Witch! Thanks for concurring Plus I think that if someone actually DOES have the ability to tune into "my imprint", they would also have the decency NOT to do anything with that ability unless I asked them to. Just because I have windows in my house it is NOT an invitation for people to stare inside.

Wow! I didn't think that this topic would get so much interest. Thanks to all who are discussing it. I've been reading Narby's Anthology of Chamanism and it seemed that a lot of the content was mostly about male chamans (Siberia, the term then was carried on by anthropologists to indicate similar in other cultures). Drew, I thank you for your in-depth explanations and they bamboozle. I don't have a background in physics or chemistry so I'd have to go check your theories (way of seeing) out. It would probably require a degree on my part;-) I admit to being a bit worried when you say you can "feel" my energy imprint. I sort of get similar from many people on here but it's also my filter I'm reading through so have to be very careful! Some of them don't even have to write a line... If love is the answer, what are we waiting for??

Grounding through going into physical sensations?
Birch replied to markern's topic in General Discussion
Technically ;-) your body sensation is all in your mind anyway. Now whether the latter is actually "located" just up in one's brain as opposed to in all kinds of places (I was just reading this brain in the heart, brain the gut stuff on here, next we "know" they'll find neurons everywhere else;-)) the sensation of there being "too much" up in the head is an interesting one that I've also struggled with. "Ungrounded" for me now means "too much charge" and it can be pretty much anywhere. For grounding techniques per se, I have a few now, including the one you're using which is great (I also include, eat meat, take salt bath, send to earth, send to Dan Tien, MCO, do yoga, do hard physical exercise, stop thinking;-)) Cool post! Maybe another thing to look at would be why it could be important/healthy to folks to ground. Love to hear from the TCM practitioners. -
Hi Witch, I think that that was what I was saying in essence. Maybe I should have said it some other way as well. Thanks for the headsup! Kate

Thanks guys;-) Define "older" Anyway, back to Non's problem. Attitude baby. Thankfully those things can be changed. I'm presently wondering myself whether changing beliefs BEFORE changing attitude is the way to go or the other way around. Again, it's a yoga. They fit together because your "real world" experience will start reinforcing the changes you've made pretty fast. Although as an aside I suspect some people just sit by their computer with their nice new attitude and don't road test it enough to get results The emotional reactions you can have to your own beliefs should also be looked at as they feed back into the whole shebang. I tended towards having lots of ungrounded nervous energy and until I started looking at it a bit differently it would wreck havoc. The idea of chi really helped me with that and I've had more success with acupuncture, yoga, KAP and other "chi" arts than I ever did by talking things out. Not to say that a psychologist wouldn't be useful but you want to know where that person is operating from (i.e. normative or transformative) Besides, I wouldn't ask a psychologist for advice on yoga or accounting or nutrition or interior design, which have just as much impact on my wellbeing as being able to psych onself out. Crap social messaging about women aside (when did it get THIS bad??) the PUA approach will probably help you a lot BUT (and I stress this) only if you change your attitude towards women into something more positive in the longer term. Not every single woman should be looked at ONLY as a potential sexual partner - or the reverse - which is what you're doing when evaluating the "ugly" ones. We all do this instinctively but we also have brains and hearts and minds to see people as more than this. Wishing you the best! Kate

This was kind of sad, I found. Lots of women get this way about men. Now why they do that is pretty complicated and society does not help. I was also pretty sad to hear some "Taoist" explanations about the past their prime women. Shit.

Mr Marblehead! Doth the full moon play temptress? I wonder. Is it not this idea of mind which is (one) of the problems? Backwards would seem like a way to go in many situations. Let the situation come to you. Forwards is perhaps already too far.

I believe that Reiki tipped me over. THEN I was obliged to start to try understanding energy work. THEN I found this forum. The rest (as they say) is whatever IMO (very personal opinion) the big things to watch out for are grounding, awareness/mindfulness and compassion. While I understand the goals that a practitioner could have by not explaining anything to the person who is receiving, I'm starting to wonder about that. The other things that would help are an open mind and healthy dose of skepticism.

I was going to say! I was interested in AP around the age of 11-13. Can't remember age exactly nor why I was into it - I think a book sparked my interest. Much like a world travel book did or a cookbook did. I remember the instructions (in the book of fiction) were to make sure you always had a line/cord to climb back into your body with, otherwise the risk was that something (one) could come and take your body instead of you Which I wonder about. How about if a much smarter and sexier and more loving person than me came along and took my place?

So now I'm interested in where you're going with this ;-) Tell! I have nothing against Kunlun and I`m more of a ground-seeking KAP type (but that would be due to my strict anglosaxon upbringing;-))
