Dude, it's because I'm no longer 17:-) When I was 17 I was nowhere to be seen (and not online anywhere). There must be a damn party in your neighbourhood on a damn Saturday.
-
And it's awesome with all of you :-) Xxxxxxxxx

It's awesome without you:-)

Don't hate. Fuck off:-)

Sentimental is bad thing now man?

Alright. Found it.

When I was 17 none of this stuff bothered me in the slightest. I would suggest that there's something in that. And if you'll please, I'll return to this post with a video (it will be 1980's horrible) to illustrate. Until then, be yourself mate :-) And after that. Be yourself, mate. Discern always. Edit: "Pimp" is not very discerning --- opinion, pimp-hater-seriously WTF--

Learning coding and design is at present a good idea IMO. And if you don't intend to go for a job where people look for the paperwork then the college stuff (presently = $$$ in some cases but there are also fully zero cost - cept for bandwith, which is still cost- courses online) doesn't matter. Know-how (as in knowing how to do) matters. Also, being on a Taoist forum, I would give your bazi a whorl. ---opinion from experience hiring, don't actually give much of crap about education---

Looks like Obomber is going to use today's shooting to create a constitutional crisis

I don't know what to say to that. It was very articulate. I looked at an article about people and crowds a while back. It had to do with instructions for police officers to avoid addressing people collectively and instead speak to individuals. Apparently, the article suggested, singling people out worked better to diffuse tension than getting a crowd offside. I can't talk about the animals and humans issue aside from finding it strange to use these terms as if they were opposed. I was pondering the idea that the bhuddists could identify people by 'mental ability' when it came to their teachings and it suddenly struck me that it might not be positive at all! For example, I'm a very influenceable person. It's unfortunate, but I was brought up to self-doubt on a rather consistent basis. Aside from this screwing with my self-confidence, another consequence is I'll literally entertain pretty much any idea, concept, hypothesis, whatever it is, I'll likely give it shot as a belief. Most often it doesn't hold up to much road testing but I have to be very careful:-). Especially with this quantum stuff... My present personal hypothesis is that several bhuddist practices (notably the repeat questioning of one's identity) do something similar to the process I already went through. Now while I believe that's not *necessarily* a negative thing to happen to a person who has decided to embark upon it- 'unlearning' being an extremely useful thing to be able to do, there's quite some amount of risk involved re the adoption of beliefs post-unlearning. My second personal hypothesis is that at specific points in the 'unlearning' process, other beliefs can be suggested and the person, desparate to replace the worldview, having lost so much of it, will accept pretty much anything. -
Good idea.

I'm finding both the so-called 'quantum' techniques as well as what we might be considering as 'non-quantum' kind of meet each other. I also think it's worth doing both. The plot thickens:-) ---opinion--- Edit: still don't understand 'quantum' anything.

Oh, I don't think I like this lack of 'care for humans' ShenLung. Methinks such an idea carries within it many noxious seeds, the above issues pointed to by our friends being one further step along such a path. The 'racism' issue notably being supported by works of 'science' to 'prove' that different coloured humans came from elsewhere. Every human culture has an origin story. I think some people forget theirs is a story and instead take it for universal truth. Anyway, my present reading of Alexandra David Neel's account of Secret Oral Teachings in Tibetan Bhuddist Sects suggests that the Tibetan bhuddists were themselves elitists, having classified different types of 'mental ability' to receive the 'Secret Teachings' --opinion-- -
"skepticism and relativism that inevitably leaves us powerless to act responsibly." Funny, I say that it doesn't do that if you practice skepticism and relativism hardcore. Sounds like an interesting book ZT! --opinion--

Yes, I'd realised that. My post wasn't intended to discuss QM but was a joke to myself carried over from a different thread.

Thanks Mr GranP. If you remove the "m." from the start of your video URL (web link) it will show up directly embedded in your post.

try a firmware update first and surprise them at work with your mad skillz;-)

I still don't understand Quantum theory. More seriously, there has been some work done on the way terms are used not to describe but to prescribe. Think everything we say has an actual 'signified'? Think again.

On the exercise front: Yin yoga (I prefer sinking into stretches than pulling myself into them which is where flows that go too fast go wrong for me - or, the yoga teacher would say 'notice what you're doing to yourself to get this pose) and Iyengar for the alignments, but I quit that because they still went too fast (for me) into neck stands. Sometimes a teacher puts too much stock in the advancement of 'their' students. Sometimes a class, sometimes at home (is cheaper with a video teacher or just follow a routine you've learned).

The pursuit of happiness is the road to hell...
Birch replied to eye_of_the_storm's topic in General Discussion
It depends how you define happiness. I noticed in my case I defined happiness in opposition to things I saw making others sad. Also to things (and people) I saw as making me sad. I've sort of simplified this because it does get into what 'everyone else' defines as 'happy-making' and being entirely reactive to that rather than looking within to what makes you personally happy. I'll let you know if I figure it all out.Hahaha. -
Sort of thereabouts where I consider my position on it to be, although there might be a case for stronger ties to genetic ancestors. Could also be anything that catches your fancy, you admire etc.

I look up that Wim Hof dude. Edit: automatic text typo. I had typed in "Wim" and was sure that's what I'd posted but the b@stard autotext made the change while I was not paying attention.

Sounds about right:-) Thanks Old Green. In keeping with the spirit of the book, I wouldn't use someone else's logo for my thing:-) I recommend this book quite heartily, but it made me wonder about all the (maybe) weird sh*t people do even more. For instance, should I now worry about my evil cutthroat ex business partners using 'bend over' oil on me? Well, I'll say very likely likely they had a form of it and I was too busy being nice to notice I was getting shafted. Ah well:-)
