Normal Breathing vs. Reverse Breathing

Looks like Obomber is going to use today's shooting to create a constitutional crisis

So back to the idea that there's an 'elite obligation' to disclose their projects? Of course it's the kind of thing that would give anyone the 'batshit crazy' label soon as look at them. I don't know where to start on the gun control issue. Guns are not a part of my life. However, the US did constitute that country with the right to bear arms. Would it be possible to leave off the extreme end of the solution ('ban') and do other things that would ensure more responsible ownership? Sounds like getting a driving license in the US is harder than getting a gun at present. -
"Arrest the energy at the root (not the root chakra ) - the more completely one is able to do so, the less potential there is for manifestation of thought-stream-energy." I've been wondering about this. For example, when I am meditating I often can 'feel/perceive' something just below the level at which it would become 'verbal thought'. And I figured, as long as I leave it at that level and do not start to 'recognize' any kind of language on the top of it, it will not become a thought. I've played with picking it out and dropping it again. The conclusion so far is that I am picking patterns out of stuff that's already there. Is this what you're referring to JB? Edit: just thought - if I don't pick thoughts out of it, what happens, given it's 'there' anyway?

Stocking up on meditations like stocking up on arsenal

Well that's an interesting idea 'meds'. One reason (I've found) to jump around with different things is that when they start 'working' - well there's a vested interest in that not working. This is often touted as a 'classic' reason but it's not always the case IME/IMO. Some other reasons I have come across: - the meditation (often the case with guided stuff) is actually more of a hypnosis than a meditation so the student never actually realizes anything for themselves - partial transmissions (what to transmit and when (and why to hold back)) for $$$ purposes - the classic 'student getting it wrong' - I reckon this is especially the case for breathing techniques or other adjuncts like fasting or even getting into cult-situations ---opinion-- -
Well Mr GranP, it's just one of the reasons I like TTB's. It's IMO a clearinghouse of sorts for this stuff.

With some interesting things said about magic circles and teachers. Back to 'spiritual lineage'. This is my account of it so it may be wrong. Probably wrong in fact:-) I understand spiritual lineage as at least two things. First the in-person transmission of practices and ideas. Second, the realizations/understandings a person may come to by themselves by any means/experiences whatsoever. It was when I read Damo Mitchell's qi-gong that I realized that several of things he was talking about had come to me as understandings/ideas all by themselves through my own practice, experience of self and the world as well as study and exchange with both 'spiritual' and ostensibly 'unspiritual' people. At present, it's impossible for me to dissect which of the above would be considered 'lineage' Sorry about that.

I reckon these people ARE really like this. There's also the idea 'If I act in a way that I think (following whatever model or ideal or dogma or doctrine) is 'spiritual' then that will make me 'spiritual'. It's like trying to be 'good'. IME/IMO yes there is an ideal to strive for in one's conduct but it's (to me at least) a very personal thing. One works with what one has and if one doesn't have it, well, how do you go about 'getting it'? And how do you know when you've got it? Do you base your assessment on other people's reactions to what you're doing or saying? I'm tending towards 'It depends'.

That's somewhat rude to say "...more productive than most on TTB". I couldn't decide whether I saw myself in the category of 'most' or not but I was sufficiently irritated by this comment (and I think it irritates me each time I hear it) to suggest that you then ought not to bother posting on this forum. Why not get a blog where no-one can respond, or where you can pick and choose? I'd probably even read your blog.

Right, which is where IMO/IME things get interesting. Look at the Xtian cultivation practices for instance, what happened to the ways they were explained and taught and why? What happened to the Xtian view of the body? That kind of thing. However, I understand wanting (and needing) a straight-up orthodox set of instructions.

Thanks!

This guy is Tao Semko from KAP (Kundalini Awakening Process). Texts are helpful in practices but so are people who practice. There's always argument as to whether or not they're more or less helpful than texts. I was trying to add a (what I reckon) helpful resource to the list.

How about a book called 'Scr*w that'? Just a few re-edits of the other one, but with some more accurate terminology? Writing is work. No way:-)

I have the trees and very poor soil thing. Also not very interested in hard work. Lots of the permaculture ideas are interesting, very systems-oriented.

I guess I've noticed a big difference in the 'fanning' of emotions, vs their welcome and release vs their suppression and stifling. My taste in movies certainly shifted. So did the music, so did most media 'consumption' (means there's not much left from mainstream I can bear to watch or listen to, but that's not an issue, unless I get into critical mode about it).

Watch the Tupac and Biggie docudrama.

Yes I remember Sing Something Simple too. Not my choice but it has a tea and biscuits kind of vibe, even today.

Another old person! Yey for TTB's

Now I feel old. I'm an old evil sucker.

I agree about good artists. Not necessarily with the munchkin production machine. Yes I know Motown is a great example of a production label that just kept churning it out. Do we get to complain about MTV and album covers as well?
