Does anyone know what makes this possible?

'Afterlife' if accessible while still living, wouldn't that be better described as something else? Is it the 'same' as the 'Dreamtime (Dreaming?)' referred to by some people. Why would this guy be ridiculed for having done what seems (to me anyway) some quite serious 'science' and documented it afterwards? I came across a neat article the other day that really brought it home that 'science' and 'philosophy' can't be done just by thinking about them - although apparently 'thought experiments' are widely used as precursors to actual scientific action and what's weird IMO is when the action results in something that goes against the thought experiment, then it gets thrown out, why? On the upcoming merger of galaxies. That would be IMO a 'natural' evolution of the universe. What role (if any) would humans on Earth play in it? I read an interview with Cohen over at 'Enlightenext' in which he mentions that 'ego-death' is an 'evolutionary' imperative, for which we are also in some way responsible (couldn't quite get my head around that one, however). Then I thought about all those guys like Kurzweil who would rather 'evolution' look more like some kind of transhumanist thing. What is that desire being driven by? Seems kind of 'archonic' to me.

direct transmission thru a book/webcast

Yes possible. Although I'd add that 'possible' seems complicated to me now. The guys at KAP. Live (webcasted) meditation teachings and sessions. -
Is this a point of confluence of kidney, liver, spleen energies? I had understood it was. I do this one every day with acupressure (as well as some other points).

The intention/desire to heal, transform, change, improve is negative, happiness is the way, or acceptance

I don't know Mr GrandP. 'Cheery' doesn't seem to be the 'natural' state (after all, I wanted to find out what the natural state (for me) is/was). However yer 'ole grumpy GranP' is very funny. Most appreciated. -

It's an interesting post ET. Thanks for it. I can almost not bear to write again. But my cultivation (so far) has been very little about choice and almost mostly about just looking at what is there. Of course I started off with cultivation with the goal of being better than I was. A very empowered siddhic super-being that wouldn't feel any pain any more, just bliss, because those things were 'promises' of path. At least I understood them as such:-). I would also gain full-on charismatics, the ability to know 'Truth' with the big T. Have people fall at my feet in awe. Time-travel, weather powers. Total mastery of the plant-world. Have tigers chilling at my toes. And then at some point I realized I was really just trying to fix myself. -

Again, I disagree, based on my own experience in meditation:-) The experience of thoughts and feelings arising and changing:-) Certainly I agree that I can choose how I respond to you. Yes, I get that you have this belief about choice of feelings. What I'm getting at with my posting on these topics (and why I'm so interested in doing so) is that this idea that people 'choose how to feel', even in the face of insults (being called an idiot, for example) is potentially a damaging way to shift responsibility (in the latter example away from the person doing the insulting). It's one of the aspects of 'spirituality' that I find borders on abusive. At the extreme, the person doing this 'shifting' gets to continue calling someone an idiot with absolutely no consequences to them. It's also extremely pervasive IMO/IME in much of the contemporary 'personal development' and 'spiritual' fields:-) -
See my other post on choice. I happen to disagree with you:-)

That clarifies things sufficiently for me. I disagree about the 'up to you how you feel' part. This from several years of meditation, not a belief. -

Why did you assume it would be ok? It looks like you have the capacity to discern who may and may not be 'ok' with you doing that. As evidenced by the above request. What do you want to learn from it? Why do you say I 'choose' to feel irritated? Is that your belief? Upon what is it founded? -
Bunk. I'm not handing you any control ET. Despite what you say above. I don't buy your 'reflecting my words' back to me. Another bunch of BS masquerading as 'spiritual':-)

That's what religion is for IMO - to ensure large numbers of people are pretty much going to apprehend things in a very similar way. Move in a similar way if you do certain things. Sheep indeed. -
Most likely G:-) But the Taoist stuff I read said that fasting was a bad idea unless for very specific issues;-)

"Taomeow hope it was ok to cut and paste what you said as I saw fit :-)" ET, why didn't you ask Sinansencer if it was ok to use what he said (other thread about Power) as you saw fit? Why didn't you ask me if it was ok to use my words as you saw fit? -
"well it seems to me that you be irritated at the stuff you created :-) please consider changing what you do that gets you to be irritated by the stuff you choose to do" Let it be very clear that I am presently irritated by you:-) The above is exactly the type of BS that parades as 'spiritual' when it is closer to gaslighting.

Mostly stuff I have read is about me getting agreement from stuff I have read. But I'm frickin blessed to have such a library before me. I wonder what practice was before people wrote it down. It would seem (from the writing hahaha) it was orally-based. Memory-based. The more funner would be if none of the writing down or the speaking and remembering actually played any role at all in 'spirituality'. Then we'd be onto something serious IMO. Anyway, these days I figure any writing, art, speaking, anything that screws about with my ideas about things is a decent form of 'spiritual' stuff.

It IS difficult. I figure the difficulty keeps many people from trying. There are also other people who will (almost inexplicably) keep you from trying. There are entire industries built on the difficulty, transforming difficulty into 'difficulties' plural (need more market-spread), do you think that those industries in particular would like people to know that it is anything other than 'difficulties'? ---2 cts opinion rant--- -
'Flirting'? Seriously? Oh yeah, you're the 'Hon' guy:-) Makes sense.
-
Oh no. Not this 'we're all one' stuff.
-
Actually sprung to mind spontaneously so I went with it. Trying stuff that I was annoyed by 'back at ya' as is (apparently) said in some places:-) And the response was to use someone else's post. I found that interesting. Wonder how the other poster feels about it. Yep, definitely very little emotional anything there - except a bit of a spike of irritation at the 'you're wrong' remark.
