  1. Yogani caught on Amazon

Thanks for the reply T_I! I'm no technician when it comes to breathing/mantra/colour meditations (I'd say JB has to be the guy for the breath stuff) but it does sound to me like you know what you're talking about. Yes I know it's tough being restricted in who you may and may not communicate with (not that this has ever happened to me online, but it has in other offline conflictual circumstances and I found that very sad). Man, I guess going off to live in a cave in the mountains is sometimes a really good idea:-) It is 'funny' (as in not at all funny) that people from different path forms would kill each other over those very forms intended to help them liberate themselves (including in part from religions BTW) but the latter actually leads me to ponder the idea that some forms are not at all liberating, or they're not unless done 'just so, just this much' and how much that happens to be is variable for all kinds of reasons. I can't speak to reincarnation, unfortunately.
  2. Yogani caught on Amazon

Hello Cat_Pillar. Thanks for the expression of concern but I don't actually feel particularly bad. It could be a typical 'dog-training' thing installed by the culture I was brought up in. The other reason I do it is so I don't come across as judgemental of people and catch the onslaught as a result. Hum, I guess that's somewhat hypocritical of me but perhaps it's also honest Had I told T_I that I thought he was wasting his time on the whole thing, would it have been more that I wouldn't waste my time on it?? I wouldn't but like I said that's just me. And why wouldn't I? Well, I'm especially averse to being singled out of my sheep pen and I don't want to get embroiled in fights about this stuff - even if I'm in my corner pondering relatively seriously the potential damage being done by misinformation and wrong practices- which I do think denotes a certain absence of courage on my part. Respect mutual:-)
  3. What are you reading right now?

Reading too many things at the same time. But just finished 'The Primal Scream' early 1970's version. A lot of the stuf in there reminded me of a lot of the stuff we deal with on here and many of my experiences and the techniques that bring them on and shut them off. The overlay (my term) of the symbolic reconstruct to meet resolution of the original experience. The false self and what's under it. The going through and not avoiding of one's actual real experience. All that stuff and a whole bunch of other things I can't articulate at this point. I figure that guy is part Shaman, soul-retriever, shakta-guy, breaker of conditioning...
  4. Yogani caught on Amazon

Interesting development T_I What I wonder is why your post got +7 and no comments. I read it already but was initially hesitant to comment as I didn't want to attract the loathing of any AYP folks and followers (just something I prefer to avoid). And then I didn't comment because I didn't see anyone else picking it up (I have my 'sheep' moments). I was thinking a bit about the request to comment on the book etc and I figured that was no real big deal as IME people that produce stuff and promo it online often leverage their immediate friends/acquaintances (sp?) to 'Like' or comment on it. So AYP is using what has become 'pretty regular' online marketing techniques and I suppose had I ever authored anything I'd be there promoting it a lot and asking people I know to help promote it. Do you intend to 'be there' every time the AYP folks comment on Amazon or whatever? My guess is they will return to do so after a time. I wonder if you're willing to keep it up and invest time and effort in it. Personally I wouldn't but that's just me. I don't know what that says about me. Probably something not very courageous. I don't know how arguments about practices have been solved in the past.
  5. Badaabing badaaboom! I reckon there's other stuff one can do with so much time. The Tibetan stuff does seem to be the most 'out there' but look, it's a country and (arguably) culture in relative decline. What I mean is the nascent mindset is in the process of changing in order to salvage practices by letting non-Tibetans know about them. Evangelising I think it is not, but I haven't seen the spread of "Taoist" ideas and practices to the extent I've seen buddhist ideas and practices. I wonder why that is.
  6. THE EIGHTH CHAKRA

You'd be referring to a principal point (of potential consciouness, as in 'that which one is conscious of) which happens to be outside of one's physical body. I've read that the 'eighth' chakra is above one's head. I wonder. I also read that there are loads of 'chakras' all over the body. Except I've seen them described as 'nadis' if they are 'lesser' points and they kind of remind me of acupuncture points and the chakras remind me of 'dantiens'. And so it goes with each systematic mapping of the terrain. The only time I've felt and seen my chakras was under guided meditation, not any other kind. In 'emptiness' meditations I've had a sense of the chakras flowing into me and really being the 'stuff' driving me despite myself. But hey, I personally prefer the idea of the yi-chi-blood relationship.
  7. The Science of Sex Appeal

And I think we have a published study that could debunk the one Immortal4 is referring to thanks to Zanshin and Harvard (wwoh, big authority there:-)) I love science, don't get me wrong:-)
  8. I want one!

Heh, water things are apparently 'me'-things so I'm bound to like them out of (apparently) some kind of identifying/narcissistic something or other - or just because water is a 'friendly' kind of a thing- not like fire pff:-) However, I have absolutely no rational grounds on which to base my wish for such a thing as a 'water-pig'. My reply was purely spontaneous, so indeed, thanks to your warning I will now be cautious! You are therefore under scrutiny until you show yourself to be what you are ----joking, thank g8d----
  9. Physical

I haven't come across any techniques for such radical changes but I have read about them too. I'd tend to think that interior conditions are reflected on the outside - the TCM folks know about the linking between skin and hair and the health of organ systems. I have noticed that my qi-gong practices have given me access to 'muscles' I didn't have access to before, like sacral muscles and such. But maybe they're not even muscles, more like 'fascia' but I'd go to the experts here as my terminology is especially bad:-) The other stuff I've come across is 'yoga' and that definitely changes physical appearance in terms of body alignments. Can also change facial features to some extent if you work on facial muscles in asanas. I'm convinced the whites of my eyes are more blue than they were before qi-gong but I also wear contacts with a slight blue tint in them (not the Cali stuff mentioned above;-)) so that's probably the source. Otherwise, I've been letting myself out in the sun a whole lot more and that does change skin and hair colour pretty fast - If you have let yours go back to its original colour for example you can see what a nice amount of sun does to it:-). But I know the sun thing is 'controversial' in some circles. What do you want to change?
  10. Is violence justified

Yep, good for you Aaron, standing up for yourself. I don't know about generalities as far as justifying anything goes but this situation sounds right to me. ---opinion etc--
  11. How do you handle other's intertia

Well Ya Mu, it's pretty much what I was getting at. I should have left my personal ponderings on it out of the post perhaps:-)
  12. What do you think of David Icke?

That was a good post (I thought). It's just really weird to me to think that there are a bunch of people in various places concerning themselves with the 'mover and shaker' roles in the world but in many cases seemingly unable to show concern for people (as in considering them as individuals and not some mass of 'humanity' as it gets called - used to be 'mankind' but that one fell out of fashion).
  13. How do you handle other's intertia

This one interests me very much. Why indeed do I want someone to be other than they are? I've found sometimes it's because I don't like my own energy, or just the way I feel when I'm around some people. If I understand this correctly, you shift yourself in an attempt to bring the other person to your level? The non-acceptance of where they're at seems a bit, er, not sure what exactly. I dunno, like you don't accept them, which I feel quite conflicted about but also because you don't accept how you feel in this particular person's presence. I'm sure it's useful to shift and stuff but also to remain aware in the process.
  14. Why does existance exist?

Sometimes "Why" is really "How". But I guess everything can get asked anything of. I don't know the answer. I'm not sure I mind what the reason is. Today I'm enjoying existence.
  15. What do you think of David Icke?

    Creative, good point Cat!
  16. What do you think of David Icke?

I find him entertaining. It seems simpler to listen to him than to dig in and learn about the financial industries or the geopolitics or the corporations running our present. I suspect that it serves as a 'release' for whole portions of society who would otherwise do something to address some thorny issues. I don't know anything about reptiles but I read it as code for "cold-blooded" people (used to be called "blue-blood")? The Masons used to be about human development and yogic practice. Now it seems they're just another club/special interest group. Aside from my personal opinion that having a monarchy is insane.
  17. The Science of Sex Appeal

Oh crap, no! my post was not intended to push anyone into a position they do/did not wish to uphold. I don't know where/if Immortal4 has anything stuck or whether he's just being provocative as I've seen him before. But IMO Neither of those absolves me of some kind of responsibilty to suggest that other ways or points of view are available. Of course the present problem IMO is the latter POV can be described as wholly subjective (i.e. 'mine') and not claimed from some authority like Immortal4 has been able to do thanks to the (published?) experiment. The burden of 'scientific proof' in this one rests squarely on my shoulders (or anyone else that cares to redo the cited experiment or point to flaws in its design or to do the legwork to find an experiment and results that contradict the cited experiment. If I'm going to 'play fair' with Immortal4 then I'd have to do that work. I'm not going to shove my 'unscientific' opinion down him but nor will I sit back in my 'greater understanding' without 'proof' and refuse to explain where I stand on the matter. I don't reckon an apology is warranted, it's IMO/IME a difficult game this 'science':-)
  18. The Science of Sex Appeal

Sure. But the world Mr Immortal4 is referring to just happens to be one (of a few) that is regularly pushed upon the rest of it. Which is why IMO, it's both worth the (circumstantiated) debunk and contestation and/or ridicule. Anyway, I'd like to see a decent experiment NOT couched in conditioned experience. Oh wait, probably can't do one of those.
  19. Beautiful post Steve. Thank you. I'm not particularly good at any of the above at present but do recognize the benefits and worth of it. Yin-yin. At some point this too will pass:-)
  20. Hola Taobums

  23. The Science of Sex Appeal

Following which there is I used to like Iggy Pop but I don't get the zombie shit. Edit: just go check out the Peaches vids in general. Her 'Mommy Complex' one was, er, interesting. Re-edit: Wait a minute, isn't this Aleister Crowley's place?
