IMO that was far too many words for far too little sentiment Mr Slopps. No "spinning" this one IMO/IME - although of course you may. But just try to be honest with yourself in there somewhere. Personally that's IMO/IME the hardest and the (aw shucks) awesomest way to go... This being said, the little I know of you means I expect to be called on such a statement for rationalisations and justifications. Really, I'm not sure I can with this stuff. Maybe I should.

Dark teatime Mr Pie? Sorry if I'm being flippant - not the intent. I really do wonder what enlightened people choose to incarnate as. I'd take a stab at "themselves":-) Sorry to hear this mortality thing is weighing on your mind. In some ways I see mortality as a joyful last chance to live the life I should be living, rather than lamenting about how short it is. Maybe reading some Norquist (who I believe considers himself enlightened) may help. He doesn't seem very happy about his realization.

Hum. Where's the relationship if all you're trying to do is get everything your way and your choice? And even worse IMO if you have to lie to the other person and to yourself to afford yourself said choice. Yes, people are fucked up. Another reason to be kind:-)

If the Universe gives you the power & authority to destroy this old world so that a new, better world can be reborn..

Yes, the world I think i hold in my mind. That one can joyfully f5ck off. Actual world? I've heard this before and it generally doesn't turn out very well. -

War on The last bit IMO has every bit to do with the first bit. Diamond sutra:-) Also, I continue to disagree with the term "illusion" - I reckon it's unecessary. Sort of like pointing out what is not the case. Why bother doing that?

KAP Kundalini Awakening Process Dr. Glenn Morris
Birch replied to Vajrasattva's topic in General Discussion
My experience with bliss is that a) it just arises b ) I tend to want to send it back to calmville c) same with pretty much all kinds of things that arise d) intentional vs non-intentional emotions help me better discern what's the what (would have to ramble on at length to convey this one IMO but what really needs to happen is that words get taken off the states until you can more coherently put them back on. I'm pretty far from it... Or if you want a funner, more contemporary-sounding deal, check out the website at youarenotsmart.com (or paraphrased) and a post about "misattributed arousal". Of course the only reason for misattribution IMO is conditioned living/thinking. But the articles generally don't touch that :-) Snowmonki, best thing I remember about KAP was Santiago's dedicated communication when the shit hit the fan. He seemed to me to be well-versed in what happens with the practices. Glenn M - awesome. Excellent books too. I remembered those when necessary:-) Suspect some Hatsumi play too. But that's a bit TMI;-) -
The PUA is back! It's springtime in many places:-) Just make it easy for a woman to be with you. Stop jumping through hoops and attempting to make other people jump through them as well. Personally, I hate all that negging and shit-testing rubbish. It's possible I've already decided what category I'm putting you in within 5 minutes before you've got your "game" on. If you're gaming, expect a little return. Sometimes it takes a little longer (like a few months). I dunno, it's just not something I find fun. At all. ----possibly showing myself up to be wrong alert--- But seriously, I hate PUA, dishonest f$ckwits

Interesting POV Clarity. I read previous advice on the topic of anger as "don't get angry as it harms liver chi". And not "don't suppress XYZ emotion as it has a harmful effect on such and such an organ/meridian". Is it generally agreed upon that suppression of emotions is harmful to the person doing the suppressing? I reckon this ties nicely back into some other threads. Not because I often get furious or anything ;-)

KAP Kundalini Awakening Process Dr. Glenn Morris

Santiago posted the secret smile on here a while back. That was a core practice in KAP. I wonder if that - all by itself- would do it? I was talking to another TTB just a few minutes about raising consciousness. IMO/IME it's not a 'thing' external to you that you 'raise'. It's something you become aware of. So you bring consciousness 'down' to have awareness of it. ---personal opinion as practitioner alert--- But otherwise yes, I don't recall paying that price. Do we have the price discussion again? -
"eat when hungry" and not "eat when bored". I reckon this sums it up for me:-)
-
Yeah, it's interesting. Now if you'll just step over here and buy this. It's guaranteed to put a spring in your step, everything you wanted. No matter it was made by a child slave somewhere. Look at the pretty colours and don't you worry. Market'll take care of everything. Seriously. Are you advocating denial? No doubt we can all fool ourselves about what particular things will satiate our desires but I wouldn't suggest doing so voluntarily. Same goes for the negative side.

Heh, "cutting off at the root". Although the way I understand this (so far) is that the thing to be "cut off" is fake. Never existed. What remains is what exists. Despite what I have to add to the matter. Or attempt to remove. Also, if there's going to be a line of sorts, well it can't possibly be straight here. Even just on account of the curve of the planet. Hahaha. Then, think your language is linear because the words come "one after the other"? If you look closer, meaning doesn't always. Yes it's harder to spot in English. Mucho gusto:-) ----- ranting opinion alert---

Interesting posts. I dip into this thread from time to time to see how understanding of addiction is changing. Some approaches to it are IMO compassionate, some others not. I think Steve is on to something. To think of something as an illness is different than attributing morality or willpower to it. As always, where is a line drawn?

Yes, I am also glad that I know how to retain without getting blue balls :-) TTB's will do that to a gal;-) And if someone asks me to press their million-dollar point I will refuse as I do not wish to cause a screwup (pun intended). The prevailing idea that I have about 'traditional' female practices is that women don't have quite as many risks in terms of 'losing' (whether that be 'jing' or 'energy' or whatever). I wonder if it's worth questioning this one? If so, on how many levels? Quite some, I reckon:-))

I think this is well said!

i reckon that once you can start understanding those texts and symbols and markers of what an enlightened being does then you, well, you know:-) But you don't need the words. Not that I know - but I know a very small piece of it - being myself a very small piece hahahahaha Anyway, the emotional stuff is IMO/IME a part of what happens to cultivators so I wouldn't mistake the trees for the forest and call people mediocre because they're on path. Depends IMO/IME where the emotions are coming from. If they're being created afresh fake because someone told you to (although that's probably a good way in for those people who have cut themselves off from themselves) or if they're coming up from, well, where they were stuck.

There's a book out on "Atheism 2.0" by Alan (sp?) de Botton that argues that interesting stuff can be hacked from religion and put to good use in secular society. Of course that's already being done by smartypant elitists but I suppose it's worth a gander.

I reckon ressurection is referring to the post-awakened person. ---sorry OT--- I don't know anything about reincarnation as it doesn't exist where I'm at.

I had to put meat back on the menu after a failed attempt at vegetarianism. I like to think the animals and i have an agreement. Try not to eat too many of the ones pumped through with hormones or that have lived confined lives. Not as easy as it sounds. Even the organic label can get bullshitted it seems.
