  1. Matter or consciousness?

I will have to go back to Chinatown to buy the paper cut out of Fu Xi on the back of which is the text I was referring to:-) Maybe not everything is on the internet;-) This is getting off the 'Vendanta' topic, sorry. Random digging up about Fu Xi and not surprised to see such a variety of 'stuff' about him. http://www.mysteriouschina.com/chinese-myth-legend-1-fu-xi-legend/ http://www.chinaknowledge.de/History/Myth/mythology.html http://www.pureinsight.org/node/1598 http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Three_Sovereigns_and_Five_Emperors I also found a reference to a horse-dragon :-)
  2. The path is not easy.

What site? I think I ought to ave a look:-) I try to keep up with this stuff. I have "The Game" on my list of books to read too:-) Mr Vortex, I see you've found an opportunity to backslide into generalisations about men and women. Shame that.
  3. The Supernaturals

Gerard, really. I'm just asleep. Resting. It's ok. There's no hell involved It's more like experimentation.
  4. Matter or consciousness?

I will try to re-find the thing i read. I don't know what Fu Xi taught. That's why i asked:-) Yes, I know that "things" occur outside of and in spite of my beliefs about anything. In fact, something I'd categorize as "demonic" is probably someone or something that knows this and uses it:-)
  5. Matter or consciousness?

Hmm, not sure I get what you mean. I don't believe in 'gods' nor 'demons'. Not to say that I don't think some things and acts are 'demonic' or that some things and acts are 'demonised' but that's IMO an entirely 'nother' discussion :-) What did Fu Xi mean and what was he teaching?
  6. Matter or consciousness?

You're asking me about an experience something that is not me might or might not have? I asked you about your experience :-) Not to offend, but this is what I hate about these discussions. Too much cryptic 'stuff' and 'go seek young padawan'.
  7. The path is not easy.

One may very well 'attract' things but one doesn't have to accept them:-) Why do those 'shaman' keep suggesting 'recapitulation'? Why 'karma yoga'? Why 'mindfulness'? I think there's a very 'real' subconscious 'resolution engine' in each of us. Hell, I'd say life itself is one:-) One could argue that our beloved life (we, ourself) is putting all these things in our way out of love because she would like to see us resolve it all, like a kitten would drop something she found and killed for you into your lap. I'd thank the kitten and then go put the dead thing on the compost :-)
  8. That was very good! I agree with the premise of the craving or 'drive' (or even 'desire') and what he's saying about the shifted objects of desire and craving. We know this is played to via symbolic means (religion included) for profit and that people (mostly) don't realise this is happening until they wake up a bit.
  9. Matter or consciousness?

Mr MH, I think we ought to try to define it, lest it becomes defined for us :-) The point of definition is to produce application/results. (Most) physicists (IMO, I'd love to be wrong as usual) don't spend their time attempting to understand reality so they can enjoy its play like some old zen monk in his garden. They do it to be able to have an effect over it and make things that use that understanding of reality to 'do stuff'. As far as I read Fu Xi mentioned that his teaching would make 'gods' of the people he taught it to.
  10. The path is not easy.

DHA I would dump her. Once you let the dissing begin, no amount of kissing will make up for it.
  11. Matter or consciousness?

Dwai, I know it's an old question but if consiousness is experiencing unity of consciousness, isn't that problematic? The experience is real, yes, but the conclusion is "after the fact".
  12. Jung Personality Test

    I'm 100% full of it :-)
  13. The Supernaturals

Well, I was asleep :-) I should also add that underground crocodiles do not make good pets (they bite people on the neck). What I've been trying to do is not 'consume' any obvious sources of imagery to see whether I can tell where the 'stuff' in my dreams is coming from. It is kind of interesting but I don't put a lot of stock in it - except when the 'ah, am I really dreaming??' thing happens.
  14. Scythian Culture

http://www.secrethistoryoftheworld.com/ if I recall, it mentions all the above and moreTM Especially for I4L, and also because it is pretty interesting
  15. Matter or consciousness?

Well it seemed like the right thing for it to say so it said it. Nitpicky Actually, it really was the first thing that popped into mind when I tuned into it. So whether that's to do with the actual sagacity of the rock or whether I'm attributing such to it isn't all that obvious IMO. What would make it more plausible that I'm "attributing" (sorry for bad grammar) would be if you took an entirely materialist view, what would make it less plausible would be if you took a less materialist view. So depending on the prevailing view, ah well. Reality must be in there somewhere and the more you argue from a view IMO/IME the less likely you are to get anywhere else (given the view is where you already are.)
  16. The Supernaturals

"employ stone warriors, assume the form of a ghost- and demon-fighting deity" That big pink Qi-gong book mentions posting a couple of 'warriors' at your side before sleeping. Another one is a sort of an infrared 'mosquito net' you set up to sleep under (which is pretty weird of itself, I don't know when that practice dates from!) I suppose all of this precautionary stuff would have been more obvious at the time that video games and movies did not exist. I'm almost sure that many people these days might mistake an actual spirit for a fake one due to their belief they're dreaming of video games or a movie they saw that day when they're actually in/or meeting entities from another dimension. Even more bizarre IMO is how 'video-game' some of the Ayahausca imagery seems to be.
  17. can anyone help me?PLZ....

Aren't Susan and Santi still working together? I had an idea that perhaps not as much but ought to check. Santi's stuff isn't that expensive IMO (although if you don't have it, anything is 'expensive'.) I just got a good sunny feeling about him. So I took his distance classes and he did help with some of the roughest stuff when I emailed him. The rest of it found its own way to resolve. Not without difficulty however. IMO you could probably crack more of this on your own than you think, giving yourself a context and some (self) knowledge. A lot of the suggestions above are really helpful. I found the TTB's helped immensely. Does Santi take 'personal students'. I didn't see him as that kind of guy/teacher but who knows? Hundun is another good guy to approach for K-issues. Knows the stuff.
  18. The Supernaturals

Those 'blue' people wouldn't happen to be able to shoot liquid blue plasma/laser light out of their eyes and mouths would they?? I met a couple in a dream. One was Chinese and the other was almost certainly 'Hindu'. They were very annoyed at me and I got a terrible fright but then I remembered I was only dreaming them so it didn't matter.
  19. Matter or consciousness?

I'll go ask the rock :-) Edit: rock said I'm a young fool who knows nothing and it was a stupid question (me, not the rock).

  21. Matter or consciousness?

Thanks Apech. Nice to see an actual word for my current affliction of perspective and that there's a philosophy for everything:-) How's about 'entropy' as a throw in :-) ?
  22. The Supernaturals

Well, IMO if the ecstatic and the imagination are lost to the grind of "all work and no play" then yes, you end up with a pretty fed up Jack to whom you can then sell ecstatic imaginary stuff. What's more dangerous, Jack the ecstactic who will actually act on his imagination and creativity or Jack the junky who will buy whatever? I contend it's the former:-)
  23. can anyone help me?PLZ....

Aha! The old qi-gong/k-psychosis. Been there- not fun! I found that acupuncture really helped manage the organ issues. Seth Ananda has lots of experience with folks with it. As does Susan of KAP. Check out Bentov's stuff and I found the biology of kundalini website very helpful. Also, when choosing practices, helpful to understand what they're for. Some are very specific and not necessarily suited to either your biology or circumstances.
  24. The Supernaturals

That's an interesting point Seth. I had a chat with another bum about what I'd call "spiritual forays" and his take was they could weaken people. My current perspective is that as an incarnate being, unless I have stuff to do that requires "spiritual forays" then going on such just for kicks makes me a bit of a useless tourist. Equally, I do not appreciate "spiritual" incursions into my life unless I have stuff to do that requires it. Or stuff that is required of me? So "who" would decide when and what is "required" of me in the spiritual sense? Last time I checked I was not leading people, nor curing them of anything, nor protecting them from anything. I mean it doesn't say "as below, so above" does it? I do think that people ought to get healed from whatever they're suffering from though. And there's IMO far too much suffering going on.
  25. Global Revolution!

Well you CAN trust the system IMO/IME - to behave like one that is:-) The comparison is mistrusting sharks. Anyway, I don't mean to sound simplistic but if you're dealing with a thing you are actually part of, what's in it for you if the thing falls? I think there has to be a viable alternative on offer rather than a definiton that is just "everything the current system is not". The latter has "shadow" writ large all over it. IMO the point is to understand systems (like we study sharks) and design them properly so that they benefit people rather than suck the life out of them. Unfortunately, this is currently underway (system redesign) but the dolts at the top still don't understand systems. Of course I'd love to be wrong :-) Any dolts reading this, no offence meant:-)
