  1. "It may be the fool..." That's pretty much my sentiment. I'm not feeling any optimism whatsoever about this though. Can i explain why? Not really. Something to do perhaps with idealism being the perfect fog through which nothing can be seen clearly. I guess that makes me a party-pooper. Sorry.
  2. Sloooow Dooooown

    "circle-jerk" Funny video
  3. The Supernaturals

Thing is, those "experiences" can a) be scary ("abject terror" is what I'd use to describe some of them) make you question so much that it really interferes with the business of living in this world (i.e. has real social consequences) and c) take some getting used to without losing it:-) My 2cts
  4. Matter or consciousness?

Will do! But not too loudly. Seems those rocks are sensitive :-) However, back to topic. IMO/IME whatever the nature of inanimate "stuff", it does seem to be in pretty constant interaction/transformation with us animate beings. So where does one draw any lines? At the purely perceptual level? What about the "stuff" we can't perceive (or don't bother paying attention to, like eating rocks, uh, I mean salt:-) and what happens then? Do the rocks i ate gain "sentience" because i ate them? Or were they smart enough to get themselves eaten?? I don't know.
  5. The Supernaturals

It's an interesting site. I've been pondering the successive replacement of reality with symbols recently. And in some cases the replacing of symbols with other symbols that run counter to the original symbol. Then i end up confused.
  6. It's a good topic Aaron. I had DB pegged as a Bhuddist/Daoist hybrid but he/she has made some interesting points in other posts that I see as a bit different from the "trad" Bhuddist evangelist view. Although his/her last post felt a bit "hysterical/scary"(felt-sense) to me (and yours felt a bit passive-aggressive, sorry!!) And no, just because i feel it doesn't mean it's my problem.
  7. Much love to all the bums (: <3

Yep, still think this place is great:-) Also great source of humanity in a nutso world:-)
  8. Poll on Moderation Issue

Are you saying golden third-eye meditations are not wingnut?
  9. Who are you talking to DB?
  10. Jung Personality Test

Yes why not:-) Anyway, another reason the MBTI is a flawed method is that it relies on self-declared attributes. Even on my most honest days i can look at a statement and decide whether i want to be more or less like it. So all those hiring managers are getting, well, y'know:-) Aaron, I don't know about legality of tests like this for hiring. I guess i probably wouldn't want to work for the kind of company that buys it:-) Too stupid:-)
  11. Jung Personality Test

I read that Jung was a member of the Theosophical (sp?) Society -members of which also apparently helped spawn many aspects of Nazi ideology. Does that mean he was one? Does that mean that his work was put to use by Nazis? What if it does? Is it incendiary to approach the idea that it might have been? Hell, Darwin's work has been used to impulse all kinds of bogus "social" theories. I'd be ok with the MBTI if it weren't for example relied upon by hiring managers so heaviliy.
  12. Matter or consciousness?

It's a tough one Mr MH. It could mean little pockets of consciouness around little pockets of non-consciousness. It hurts my brain a bit to contemplate it, but i do disagree that the world is brought into being by sentient beings. Then it happens i do agree that our impressions of the world aren't it due to our limitations. I heard the argument that those limitations are caused by self-identifying with them but i don't know about that either. It's too complicated for me to understand but that doesn't mean other people do either. A good argument can still have no basis in reality. Off to play with my pet rock:-)
  13. can anyone help me?PLZ....

Salt! I just had an idea about salt in diet and ionisation leading to correct serotonin assimilation. It just popped into my head. So pls take it with salt, but i wonder... How's your diet and exercise? I like the other suggestions too but I'd look at "the basics" as well. Welcome to TTBs! There's a bunch of stuff that works on here. Edit: just got back from googling that idea that popped into my head. Seems there's something to it:-)
  14. That's all well and good but I wasn't referring to any requirement for "reassurance". I guess then I'd have to go back to some of the other cartographers such as Daniel I or Agora 11 or whatever.
  15. I guess that's good advice Aaron. However, I wonder about the old 'just keep on keeping on' suggestion in the face of meditative 'phenomenon'. I don't doubt that people would like some kind of signposting (I appreciate it myself:-)) but IMO/IME it would be pretty more interesting (helpful, maybe, I dunno) if people could understand some of the 'stuff' beyond just 'keep on going'. It's not all mystic rocket science :-) In fact it might 'just' be science and telling people isn't IMO/IME going to change what happens that much. And if it does then I'd welcome some input about that too :-)

". (It has to be displayed in order to work -- symbols work on the unconscious level, but they do need to be perceived in order to start working.) " Agreed!
  17. Listen and learn!

Vectors! Like the lady said:-) You can pretend it ain't and you'd be right:-)
  18. Jung Personality Test

No,no! Black scales and claws and furs and skin (recently accommodated since black Kali joined the team:-)). Do you have something like that in your store?:-) Edit: some idol ideas but be sure to make them CC:-)Fffing
  19. Poll on Moderation Issue

I could make a poll about how weird you are if you want? But it might be relegated to off-topic :-)
  20. Can you feel your skull from front to back?

I can feel it, along inner and outer edges and sometimes in the middle, but I don't think it means anything much. However, this being said, there are some "warnings" about putting your awareness in your head before you've done/been elsewhere. Also, warnings to not leave it (your awareness) in the head because it could/might have consequences. The small amount I've understood about that is that it's something to do with yi-qi-blood relations.
  21. Jung Personality Test

And I'm a 7 and a yang water person and a huntress (diety worship ;-)) and a cat-dragon (don't ask what that is). And very possibly reincarnated enough times to be able to say "stop the BS". But it seems I can't help but love it when things (or formulae) give me the lowdown on who I am:-)
  22. Poll on Moderation Issue

Tough one! IM4L isn't what I'd call a "creationist". Might not have the "facts" on whatever he or she is posting but I kind of like it as a respite from othodoxy of any kind. It would be funner if the sources weren't all the same (e.g. We seem to be having a run on Hancock right now:-)) and maybe if it attracted other people interested in this stuff that could debunk the bogus, that would be cool. Maybe there are forums for that elsewhere but I figure if IM4L is posting here then he/she would like some feedback. I suppose if not, then that could be called "evangelizing" and I don't know what TTB's want on that side of things. Personally, I don't dig it, but that's just me:-) Edit: I don't dig evangelizing
  23. Jung Personality Test

INTJ 1% thinking. Thinking it's bogus:-) But apparently that's an INTJ trait. Crafty fellow that Jung. Edit: Why might the test be bogus? :-) IMO if you can answer that one then I would love to talk with you:-)
  24. 11:11:11

11 does seem to be a red day for many. Chosen because it had been a red day before. The chi of such days accumulated perhaps imposing itself as the choice. Also a pattern easy to spot, a nod to the people who create red days.
  25. The Supernaturals

I think any finger too heavily pointing either towards something or away from it ought to be brought into question since we know that dualism is reductionist. What does telling someone they have an ego that ought to be gotten rid of accomplish? What does pointing to achievement (enlightenment) that is extremely difficult and you probably won't get there in this lifetime accomplish? What does telling someone they cannot practice their sacred practices accomplish?
