Dzogchen (and Buddhism) Summarized
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to RongzomFan's topic in General Discussion
Alright already with the EPIC FAIL! Can't you think of anything else to say? -
Durkrod's advice only pertains within his fundamental TCM framework. There are other points of view to consider: taobums- cold water therapy thread Send me some money and I will tell durkrod what the deal is with cold water.

Hey. It's a mistake to make this assumption because of all the crap people are posting online. You can't tell much of anything based on online posting. The world is still going in the shitter while these forums just prosper. Now if these "avatars" would just get away from their computer screens, we might have a chance...

Dzogchen (and Buddhism) Summarized
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to RongzomFan's topic in General Discussion
Ha ha. The ONLY one posting here on Taobums that demonstrates compassion, lovingkindness and generosity consistently is Shaktimama. You certainly don't. Vajrahridaya is very thin-skinned and petty....and on and on...certainly NONE of the "Buddhists" here display such attitudes, but are deeply attached to their computers all day debating emptiness while real Buddhists are socially aware and doing things in the world to ease and address suffering. (And no Vajra, your endless "debates" here are not really doing anything to spread the dharma, despite what you like to think). Shaktimama has poise and grace. Mikaelz, as Vajrahridaya says over and over and over again when someone points something out to him, "look in the mirror!". (smiley or frowny over-used emoticon purposely not added). (And I don't include myself in this as having Buddhist attributes. Now back to my timeout from the bums). I'm sick of those emoticons...grumble grumble...especially this one -

I may join you Blasto, my friend... -
O.k. Brothas, isn't it alright to just say black instead of African American? I'm never sure about this. Sometimes it seems awkward. Like, how do you know if someones 'American'? or is this just not a problem?

Well, Darth, with your name and your avatar, your come across kinda like some disincarnate extra-terrestrial video game master... Harder to take you seriously, but we'll try. -

Dzogchen (and Buddhism) Summarized
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to RongzomFan's topic in General Discussion
Well, I would appreciate some entry level Dzogchen here rather than the upper level advanced esoteric finer points of being- emptiness that spill over our cyberspace here. Why not have some other input AT A MORE BASIC LEVEL than we seem to always have. We can debate the basics too, you know. But some here get pretty snooty that only their dzogchen guru has the right path...(sigh)... -

Well, lots of people have been where you are and have gone on to good lives. Your acid bitterness is eating you up, brother...I hope you're not on any substances right now. It's obvious you're in need of help and some understanding friends, which you ave right here. That's a start. You seem smart. You won't always be without money if you get your shit together. -
I know that quote came from the Spring Forest web site, but I never quite know about the PC term 'African American'. Does this mean he is the first black American to achieve this, or actually the first black person? (Like, what about African British, etc.)?

Stoner, you sound pretty jaded and bitter these days. Don't make any hard decisions right now, and I promise you, as you cultivate, (and leave the "stoner" stuff behind), you will see the world a different way and things with women will change. I was young like you once, and was sometimes bitter, and man, that resentment makes the ladies run far, far away, really fast. Stoner stuff too, as you get older... Here's my reply to non a few months ago on the same topic: the Tao bums: disturbing conclusions about women -

A question for Vaj the Buddhist
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to Ninpo-me-this-ninjutsu-me-that's topic in General Discussion
Grasshopper, you are so reactive! If you read my post closely, you see that I recognize you possess fine potential, and that your writing is not always unpolished. It is true, if this were a Buddhist forum, your abstruseness would matter less, but you turn off more than you enlighten by your difficult style. My post wasn't that critical for a person who admittedly has no higher learning experience, and it often shows. You seem irritable lately. Alright, listen: with your life experiences and spiritual path, if you wrote a book and tied your experiences to your spiritual learning and growth, AND got a good editor to make your stuff clearer, it would be outstanding. Damn, I would read it. And so would LOTS of others! I don't hate you, laddie. I just don't understand why you spend so much time and energy tilting at disappearing windmills in cyberspace when you could be doing something more beneficial and get yourself further ahead in life. Hey, we're all not getting younger, and you're getting closer to 40 than not if I recall correctly, so what gives? You've got raw talent, fascinating worldly experiences, unbelievable enthusiasm, and a spiritual desire like a moth ready to immolate himself in the flame of realization. You gonna hang around here and post 25 times a day, annoy people, joust with ralis and me, and let your life go by? -
A question for Vaj the Buddhist
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to Ninpo-me-this-ninjutsu-me-that's topic in General Discussion
Careful, mikaelz. I once posted that I have an undergraduate degree from a top philosophy program at a major university, and Vaj taunted me about it, saying that it mattered nothing to him. But no, he often, but not always writes unclearly. He certainly has no higher scholastic experiences with teachers of rhetoric that would have taught him how to write. He has potential, but his style is crude and error prone. Again, he obviously doesn't edit his stuff much, either. He does not (yet) have the ability to relate abstract thought to real life, so he would not make a good teacher or author at this point, so he is stuck here, posting like a maniac to a lukewarm bums audience. seems like he might be wearing out his welcome tough. I did notice that during his 'sabbatical', there was zero Buddhist discussion, when he re-appeared here, suddenly he's everywhere and we got too much Buddhism! -

There are some unreal "Taoist temples" (or perhaps Shinto?) in the smooth rock canyons of Southern Arizona, with seasonal water. Hot smooth rocks, cold clear pools, Saguaro cacti, no people, a wonderful place to shed clothes and do qi gong Zhan Zhuang with bare feet rooted deep into huge boulders, then sleep out side and wake to the magic of Canyon Wrens. I'll find some pictures to post if bums are interested. Truly a hidden Paradise on earth. -

Ah, but you parrot so many fine Buddhist words, but true useful understanding eludes you... Realize this: we have been karmically bound together over many lifetimes and will be for many, many, more. I have been your father, and you, my son. I have been your best friend, You have been my Guru. In our last lifetime, you were a cabbie pedaling me around a fine city in a rickshaw...oh, wait....that was this lifetime!!! Actually, if you MUST know, Namkhai Norbu made me promise to be a burr in your soft Tibetan saddle for as long as it takes... -

Couldn't resist, could you, young Dzogchenpa master?? By the way, you use that 'mirror' comment all the time. Why do you believe that you see yourself so clearly? -

I can't speak for ralis, but I don't hate you. I just find you an annoying, overwhelming presence here, and I oppose your takeover, like you did last year. I bear you no ill will. I just wish you weren't so dense and obscure! oh, and immature, too . Plus, you started all this by jumping down my throat with a snarky, nasty reply when I nicely asked you a respectful question, way back when... Yes, you, my son... -
