If it is on the anus itself (the red rose), and is swollen and extremely painful, it is likely a thrombosed hemorrhoid, which can be anesthetized by a doctor and opened to have the clot removed. If you can wait it out, it will slowly resolve, but may recur some time later. One way of helping to resolve a thrombus is to take bromelain tablets, which will help 'digest' the clot to have the body remove it, do this with frequent hot sitz baths (important: sit in only 2-3 inches of water) and frequent application of Witch hazel will also help. Hemorrhoids and the anus are almost never infected and full of pus--see below. If it is next to or near the anus, and is draining pus, it is likely an abscess. It can be mild, or in the case of some peri-rectal abscesses, can be extensive and deep, sometimes with a fistula that is draining fecal material into the surrounding tissues where it creates infection. This should ALWAYS be examined by a doctor, and often a surgeon is consulted to surgically drain the abscess, which may extend through the fascial and fat planes to really deep tissues. And then, sometimes these infections are more limited, like a boil, and one can apply poultices, take homeopathics such as sulphur, etc. There. Hopes this helps the t.b database.

Yeah, maybe too alive, considering their situation...like that story by Ambrose Bierce, 'An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge'...

Just how do I resist the urge?
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to Standing Medication's topic in General Discussion
Let it go. Resisting flatulence is futile and harmful. Studies have shown that rejected farts eventually make their way back to the brain, where they create smelly lacunae (holes) that are filled with rejected and toxic gases. This is definitely anti-chi, and you will be the worse for it!!! This is why you hear old people always talking about 'brain farts'!! 10,850 -
A recent documentary on suicide jumpers from the Golden Gate Bridge recounts several of the few who actually survived the jump having extreme regret once they had launched off the bridge and changing their minds. One can only wonder at how many of the "successful" jumpers felt the same way, but were helpless to reverse the decision they had made and plunged regretfully to their deaths.

-Carefully select your practice(s) and maintain a simple regimen that you do without fail, and go deeply into it, for a long time, until you sesnse you have gotten all you can out of it. Avoid 'energetic indigestion' by doing too many practices, or jumping from one thing to the next 'in thing'.

Prof. Yu Yong Nian's book - Zhan Zhuang & the Search of Wu - Anyone read it?
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to DaoChild's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, but at some point you are left with the feeling you're a fool for paying so much for a friggin' e-book, no matter the content. But the publisher is really the fool, as they would sell a lot more of them for half that price or less. Supply and demand curve. Plus, at that price, I think they unintentionally encourage bootleg copies circulating. Note to publisher: get a clue... -

Sound great, but $72.00 for an e-book? Are you sure it's worth that much? -

David Carradine found dead in Bangkok
TheSongsofDistantEarth replied to Dainin's topic in General Discussion
Maybe, but this is the more likely scenario: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoerotic_asphyxiation Somebody (not me) has already placed his name in the article as one of the notable people who have died this way. -
