  1. I would see what the forces at play are and what tendencies are going to be in the future. Then, I would see what is the truth of this planet. Then the universe, if I could at the moment. After cultivating a certain level of wisdom and sensitivity to the nature of events and life on this planet, I would decide what form of action I will take and what event it would create, if any. I would love to build a kingdom that is truly prosperous for all who reside, with little corruption and maximum freedom. Is that truly beneficial? I do not know. Such a thing may not be for the good of the human race. Then, If none of my large desires of creation and change were proper, I would watch the world go by. I would watch as humanity grew and destroyed it self, how it ventured out to the stars, how it fell from them, watch as ages go by and by...as the world grew older and older, as the landscape that is turned to dust and what once was becomes nothing but legend, then whisper...then silence. I would venture into space and see what is, as galaxies opened and crashed and devoured. As worlds collided and burst into fiery spams. That is probably along the lines of what I would do.
  2. I am looking for a book about Dao Yin by Lily Siou. I think that is how her name is spelled. I have been unable to find it so far. I think I might have the name spelled a bit wrong. Does anyone know anything about it? Thanks!
  3. Older Dao Yin Book by Lily Siou?

    Thanks for the responses and links, all! I have been searching all over the internet for about a week with no luck. I was told It exists and It would help me, although it may not have been printed for long. I found all those books, Chi Kung, Diary of the Way, and her website, none seem to reference another book about Dao Yin or called Dao Yin.. I am not 100 percent sure I spelled her name correctly, either. I was just told it was lily su (sue,siou), just how her name sounds and not how its spelled. I will keep on searching. Thanks and have a great life!
  4. Micro-cosmic orbit - a question

    That is an excellent point. I think we often focus on it because we think its high level and really achieve little in actually developing. Sure, its great to get in touch with your bodies systems. Being able to understand how you work and feel when something is off is vital.
  5. Micro-cosmic orbit - a question

    Opening the MCO is about clearing the Ren and Du Vessels/ Channels. By doing so, all the Channels/ Vessels in the body are able to flow better. There are some blocks/ passes that must be opened and that is a big deal. Thing is, the MCO already moves. Its already activated. It just can do more and be more efficient/ stronger. A good place to start is to just feel your body. Meditate and allow your body to show you the MCO. Mindfullness, really. I prefer that to imagining it existing. Great point! I can feel mine move in accordance with breath. If I breath, it moves smoothly. If I dont, it gets all wibbly wobbly. Natural abdominal breathing is the place to start. Get a good pump going and see what happens. Hope this helps. Peace
  6. Nice try, Harvard

    Excellent! Your friend appears to have a solid core principles as a foundation to go through all that without giving up, making horrid mistakes out of emotional/ exhaustion. That level of development in a person does seem to be rare...That much change and chaos, is chaotic! heh. I think some would find that their hearts connect with the teachings enough to get to the place your friend is in. They probably wont get there by taking the class, it will introduce them, though. Thank you for sharing your experience of your friends, Taomeow! Peace
  7. "Taoist Yoga" by Charles Luk

    Why do you think QiGong Empowerment by Shou Yu Liang should be skipped?
  8. Why Do We Focus On Dan Tian ?

    How do you cultivate and connect with the LDT in this way? How does it "feel"? Its completely fascinating, this information you are sharing... Peace
  9. Why Do We Focus On Dan Tian ?

    Are you talking about kinesthetic sense dominance? Im definitely kinesthetic when it comes to how I process information. That is one reason why I love QiGong and MA.. Feels natural.
  10. I was reading a book on Chinese Medicine and in the section on the Channels, it had a very interesting idea.. It said that because the Yang Channels descend from the upper body and the Yin Channels ascend from the lower body, when it is cold outside, you should keep the lower body insulated and the upper body more open to the world. That way, the Yang energy from the Sun and the world will be taken in and will descend through the body. The Yin will rise, and the outside cold will not damage it. I know that when my legs are warm in cold weather, I often enjoy having light clothing on my upper body. Understanding Nature and then how our own system follows the way of Nature.... ideas like this are so simple, yet so profound if they work. What do you all think about this idea?
  11. I met my partner of 8 months or so on the internet. She lived in Brazil, me in Murica. We met on a chat site and hit it off right away. Became friends, talked every day. Being honest and expressing your interest seems to work well. Even if it does not, do you want to manipulate a person into being with you? If they like you and you like them, wonderful! Compatibility is vital. Shared values, goals, interests. Super helpful. On the subject of books....It gets you into my pants faster then anything else! haha. I love books. My partner bought me a book early on in our relationship. A damn good book too. I love books.
  12. Scientists achieve levitation using sound waves

    I wonder if this could be a form of how to have Anti-Gravity.... Reflection and frequency manipulation.... Thanks for sharing, BKA!
  13. I was taught to be mindful of the weather as well. The cold is what really gets me. Not so much the wind. I have to be sure to protect my kidneys when it is cold, as the cold can weaken them more. Cold wind? Weeew....
  14. How important is Apathy?

    Apathy can be the mask for Anger. Repression of Anger can create Apathy and/or Boredom. Peace
  15. Yin/Yang Healing Sounds?

    A foundation of Taoist theory/ philosophy is Yin/Yang. All of life is made of Yin and Yang. If so, why are the 6 healing sounds not the 12 healing sounds? There should be a Yin/Yang pair. Are the 6 Healing Sounds a complete system, if they do not adhere to a basic, foundational principle? I hope these questions can open up some interesting discussions! Peace.
  16. The Inner Work

    In my opinion, it is the difference between Experiential Knowledge and Implied Knowledge. Reading a book or listening to a teacher and quoting them, without having experienced what they are talking about, is just Implied Knowledge. You do not really know for your self. You may trust the source and give it weight. Even so, until you experience it, it is not real for you. Also, parts of our minds love to categorize and label. It can be easy to get lost in the world of mind, without actualizing the cultivation. By refraining from focusing on the mind (implied knowledge) you can focus on experience it self. Peace
  17. I practice about 10 minutes of Xing Yi Quan per day. I have only learned the most basic form of Pi Quan and Zuan Quan and I do 5 minutes of each. I sometimes do more, I try and stick with 5 minute rounds. When I learn a new form, I add another 5 minute round for it. So, next will be 15 minutes, then 20. That way, my ability grows along with my learning and I do not go over my healthy limit. Keeps it consistent. Added to this, is my QiGong practice. I do about 30 to 50 minutes of QiGong a day. I like to start with Xing Yi Quan to get my system moving, then move into Wild Goose and then some Medical QiGong/ Skill expanding forms/ Breath work. When I feel like it is good to do, I will add in some Yin Gong Jin. My goal is to practice at least an hour and a half of MA, then two hours of QiGong. Of course, the IMA are also QiGong, so its lots of Qi cultivation! haha. Peace.
  18. Intensity

    Over my life, I have had to learn how to do the most while not doing too much. The line between relaxed intensity and stressful intensity. During my QiGong training, in the early days, I would have to practice for an hour or two a day just to remember the moves. Now, If I forget, I take a break and let it come back. Afterwards, I do not forget so easily. As a few others have said, learning to listen, to know your limits is a huge part of it. In our society, we tend to think of MORE as BETTER. It is not always the case. Especially with Internal Practices. We can easily do more and hurt our selves in the process. Stress our systems out too much. Some days, I do nothing. My system wants to rest. To integrate what is already taking place. That is hard because my mind wants to do more! To progress! Sometimes, doing nothing IS doing something. Sometimes doing something IS doing nothing. Hah. Great thread! Peace
  19. Untying the Knot: Your Heart is actually a Spiral

    haha. The constant spiraling gets your whole system a twirling, eh. Have you actually noticed that your Organs work in a more spiraling manner after practicing Bagua consistently for an extended period of time? Peace
  20. Untying the Knot: Your Heart is actually a Spiral

    I wonder if the blood spiral is the Qi/Blood and other subtle aspects forming the Organs blueprint and function on a level more subtle then the flesh..... If the heart does that....do the rest of the organs?! That would be pretty cool to see in action. Thanks for sharing, BKS and Jetsun!
  21. Spirit->Organ Healing

    In the TCM system, it seems that our body is an energetic sack/ vessel. The Organs seem to be a denser manifestation. The Spirits are a "lighter" manifestation of the same "thing". If you can heal the Spirits thru healing the Organs....You can also heal the Organs thru healing the Spirit. If you are lacking Will, cultivate it and the Organ will grow stronger as well!! The Spirits also help us see which Organs are unbalanced. Its a two way street! This may help in understanding why a person may become diseased and then, go do things they always wanted to do ( healing the Spirit) and become healthy. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, what has your experience been? Peace.
  22. Spirit->Organ Healing

    I will check those out! Thank you, Dawei! Ohhh. I have read quite a few who advice the use of Heart sound to deal with anger. Other emotions as well. Thank you for bringing both threads together! They do connect. Learn the Sounds, learn the Organs, can do some amazing things with them. Peace
  23. Spirit->Organ Healing

    Hmm. Then why did you decide to post on a TCM topic? I asked your opinion so as to end the pointless arguments and move into a creative discussion about the topic this thread is about. Peace.
  24. Spirit->Organ Healing

    I saw that. In my experience, blood tests are rarely needed and so far, they have not been for me. Now, back on topic. Do you have any thoughts about the Spirits and how they affect the Organs in healing? Something I have been thinking about, Kidneys and Zhi. The Will is in the kidneys...if so, can we cultivate our ability to make aware, free choices and strengthen the kidneys? This can become a tie in to personal growth, where you cultivate and change your self. Peace
  25. Yin/Yang Healing Sounds?

    No problem! Im glad I remembered where I found that puppy. You dont owe me a thing. I shall! You stay in touch as well. Be well. Peace
