I could use some help identifying a particular experience
Jadespear replied to ssmith7's topic in Daoist Discussion
I think what you are referring to is entering into or becoming aware of the quality of stillness itself, not a thing that exists objectively.... For example the statement that stillness exists does not makes sense, but he is still, or it is still: do make sense. So carrying that quality of your energy is all you are really talking about it seems. There is however a phenomenon called "the field" in short for the zero point field discovered by physicists that is a field of energy which exists even at absolute zero temperatures. I believe it is this field that you are really trying to understand...it takes stillness to become aware of it but movement of thought or focus or intention to influence it. There is a good book written about it simply called, " The Field." -
Does anyone know of any techniques, herbs, routines to last longer while having sex for men?

Because mostly Krishnamurti aimed "to set man free" as he claimed he would do when he disbanded his own religious sect- The order of the star. I think Krishnamurti had a personal life that influenced his spiritual views a lot. When he was young his brother became ill and he was around a spiritual circle at the time, mostly theosophists, who had invisible master teachers who assured Krishnamurti that his brother would survive. He didn't, he died. Hence Krishnamurti loses all faith in anyone but himself. I don't think he cared much about kundalini and qi gong because they are not things that can bring peace to the world just yet. He was a very public and influential figure aimed at breaking down how people thought about themselves and exposing the truth of human society and what it could be. He has extreme faith in his writings. He was interested more in realizing truth than he was in qi gong because that's just who he was.

How do you know God is so peaceful? How do you know God at all? The idea of God is a human creation. Why label peaceful harmonious feelings as attached to this God? Why not give up on on the whole experience God thing, and experience yourself and LIFE?

Good for you brother!

What is the secret of being ultra smart ?
Jadespear replied to Tatsumaru's topic in General Discussion
"If you understand others you are smart." TTC 33 All that really matters is how well you can persuade people. Yes--- anyone can read any subject of knowledge and understand it completely...but you have to be able to communicate it for it to be effective. And you can communicate the best to people and things you understand. And you can make them agree or disagree based upon your perceptibilty. And therefore you have used everything to the best that you could... -
Convince me not to go out to nightclubs and sleep around
Jadespear replied to becomethepath's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Dude, clubs and drinking are fun...I dunno about the sleeping around thing though...you do know that HPV can give you genital warts....and that 1 out of 3 people have it? It may show no signs for years, and then one day...... you have warts on your balls......ouch. Yeah not going to be clubbing it up after that are ya? Not to mention all of the other venereal diseases which are much worse...did you not go to sex ed class in high school?...what was that multiplier thing...oh yeah...for every person you've had sex with, they most likely have had sex with at least one other person....so you basically have to double the number for yourself....so if you've had sex with say 4 girls...you've also exposed yourself to 4 guys....so thats 8 people. And to top it all off, those clubs are the places where the sleasiest people congregate. People can have diseases they don't even know about and give them to you just because they want to have sex one time because they're so "free and adventurous" and your there are drunk and ready to be convinced of anything... Dude. Come on man. Get a girlfriend. -
The most powerful person is the one with the strongest mind.
Jadespear replied to Rebel Emperor's topic in General Discussion
According to the Tao Te Ching, if you can overcome others by any means...you are the most powerful. And by what means do people overcome others....? Yes- Compensation or Violence. There are really only two ways people are won or conquered, give them something they want or remove them. "If you understand others you are smart. If you understand yourself you are illuminated. If you overcome others you are powerful. If you overcome yourself you have strength. If you know how to be satisfied you are rich. If you can act with vigor, you have a will. If you don't lose your objectives you can be long-lasting. If you die without loss, you are eternal." TTC 33 Lao Tzu One of the best passages I think. -
Is there ever an end of individual consciousness?
Jadespear replied to DeadDragon's topic in General Discussion
Yeah.... The planet earth is an illusion.... Wtf? Who gets off on saying dumb things like that? I still don't get it... It's obviously not an illusion because I'm living on it right now. How can you possibly explain that statement without denying all human perception and awareness? That's all your doing then isn't it? Just denying it to yourself, so life doesn't seem so hard... So you have a way out of whatever is troubling you ? I'm not afraid of learning new things to the point where my life is different, but how can anyone have the audacity to first assume they knew what The Buddha went through personally in his life, and then secondly say to me that it will happen to me.... I mean I was intrigued with Buddhism for awhile and some sects and schools are still interesting but I don't find any mention of the universe being an illusion in any of them at all. It's more like your thoughts about it are the illusion... Your thoughts put the screen up in front of direct perception of what is going on. So your mind may make illusions but your mind did not create the world. It was here before you existed. I think your all a bunch of fools for repeating stupid things like the "the whole universe is an illusion." It's stupid thinking like that, that has stifled Humanities understanding of the universe, just like the erroneous religious dogma of god creating the world 5000 years ago.... Please... -
If truth is your aim, you must have an intellect to discover it. Of course the ability to think is of use to all of us. It's just the limiting defeatist thoughts, views, faiths, and beliefs that stifle true discovery from happening. It's more like a blocked intellect vs. an open mind. However, philosophy mostly boils down to the strength of arguments. What truth are you seeking anyway? Truth has come to mean many mystical things to people with intellectual inclinations, however "truth" as being something in of itself always eludes them... I don't think anyone will ever know "the truth" because it is not within the field of knowledge, it is what makes the field of knowledge happen... I believe truth is this endless moment evolving endlessly eternally. It's like how could we say we know this moment? You can't hold onto it like a piece of knowledge, like a fact.... Because we are part of it. So truly, there is nothing to find- but there is ample and endless room to create. "Truth is not contingent upon belief" "Truth is a path less land" It seems like you may be searching for The Absolute Truth, that cannot be reduced to relativism, the truth that permeates everything in existence... Some people call it God or the Tao. "The great tao is hidden deeply within all things." - TTC Beyond knowing how we, and everything in the universe behaves and operates... What greater truth could there be? .... Where the universe came from ? Where it is going? Is reincarnation real? .... Blah blah blah .... How would it be possible to find those answers without stepping out of time? I'm really passionate about philosophy in general as well and these are resolutions I've come to so far. The biggest truth though is that it feels good to be loved and to love others in return. No your emotions are not something to chuck away like stupid philosophers say.... Life is a learning experience where everything is of value and can benefit those who learn and use their knowledge.

Who has read the books: Conversation with God by Neale Donald Walsch
Jadespear replied to blue_solar_storm's topic in Group Studies
I saw the movie as well. I don't believe anyone hears god at all. I believe god talks to everyone through the life experience itself, everything about life you understand by living it. I don't believe the guy who wrote the book was talking to god either, just his deep self that he had long forgotten. Which some may consider is actually God, but that's a different matter altogether... I don't think so because everyone has depth inside themselves...just like everyone has a conscience. -
Welcome. Taoists typically look toward nature to understand themselves and life in general. You may find a book enlightening in the various ways you could view yourself and the universe... It's called " The Great Tao" by Stephen T Chang. It seems you need to adopt a more tolerant attitude toward life- the way of the mountain. The mountain is great because it does not neglect or deny any life forms on it. Just as you can you can be.

spontatenously hearing this really high pitch virbration/ noise?
Jadespear replied to becomethepath's topic in General Discussion
Dude, that's tinnitus. The only cosmic sounds I've heard of that can be considered outside regular human experience are those sought after through meditation... You may slip into a meditative state every once in awhile and hear ringing but I doubt it. The shabd yoga masters are the ones who lay claim to hearing the great OM.... The only sound that I'm familiar with that has a spiritual significance tied to it. You can learn from one of these masters in India probably, but they have to want to teach you of course, as the practice is considered extremely sacred and for the most noble and compassionate. -
The afterlife: It's so hard to even describe this life itself, is it not? Life comes with endless potential and unlimited possibilities..... I'm sure the afterlife will be similar. It seems to me that many of our thought patterns and truths that we hold as actually true become true... Christians have a heaven, so do other religions. After reading Monroe's books.... There are many territories...or states of being one can encounter and be held in. One can even venture to say that you will be able to create your own afterlife...which is a thought that excites me.

Hey all, I was focusing on my lower pelvic area the other day, the perineum. I noticed after doing some pc exercises that a point or gate or something sort of began to develop emanating a strong vibrational pull/push feeling from the area. Have any of you felt this? Is that the root chakra, I hear about? Also after this, I felt like 2 strands of something beginning to develop and rise ever so slowly through my body, is this what people refer to as the kundalini? It developed and I tried to mentally raise it, but it did not get past my stomach area. It then just subsided, and went away. It was pretty cool, just wanting to know more about anyone else's experiences.

Is there ever an end of individual consciousness?
Jadespear replied to DeadDragon's topic in General Discussion
The simple fact still remains, that the word "enlightenment" is relative to each person. What illuminates one may not illuminate another. But what illuminates everyone? I still don't see what the big deal is with "enlightenment".... And why people think it is something to reach or attain, mostly because no one can tell me what it is... -
Is there ever an end of individual consciousness?
Jadespear replied to DeadDragon's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the discussion. There was a lot said and it has sparked a reflection in me. Things that I think I know- if something exists it is knowable, it is possible to gain understanding and insight into any field of existence. So I disagree that whatever force you are talking about is unknowable. I think the term unknowable should be discarded. I've heard lots on stories about people who are able to see chi, God, spirits, the levels of the "beyond"...etc. Granted I haven't seen or done any of those things, they still interest me. -
Yeah this is gross and disgusting. So stop going to churches....stop getting married there, stop visiting there. Organized religion and celibacy are unnatural. They are stupid human inventions rooted in the baseless notion that we have to have them in order to become closer to god. ...pathetic. All sexual offenders should be shot.

Hello. I am really interested in taoist thought, practice, and ways of living. I consider myself a student and seeker of truth, which means while I understand philosophies and their place I realize the most important part of anything is how it affects me...in short I like practicality and to prove and experience things for myself. I've read and researched many "spiritual" philosophies and practices and would like to be able to eventually experience them all for what they can offer. I am most interested in chi right now, and to understand if what I have been feeling is the same thing as some of you...please reply if you think you can help me. Lately I have been noticing vibrating tingling like sensations mostly in my fingertips and through my hands, sometimes in other parts of my body. Incidentally as a result of focusing on these vibrations inwardly in a way they increase...now I have noticed to that wrinkles and lines have begun to form and appear on my hands that were not there before. I am worried that I am doing something harmful to myself, which sucks, because I wanted to understand chi and its healing benefits. Am I actually feeling chi? Or just nerves? Is there a difference? It's almost as if I think I am accelerating the aging of my body, and I thought meditation and feeling chi would lead me to reduce the aging of it...? Have I stumbled on the "dark side" of the force? I have never had a meditation teacher, and I have only read books on these subjects, which is why I am posting this here now. I wish there was someone in Ohio, which is where I live, who is actually able to personally help me. Please respond if any of the things I have said interest you, or if you think you may be able to help me understand some of these things. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure theosophy tried to eliminate stale dogma, while not producing it's own... But they failed. Such is the fate of anyone trying to mingle religions together to make a "new" one. Some theosophy writings are intriguing though.... What is it again ah yes the theosophists adage - " no religion higher than truth." I was raised a Christian myself, until I woke up one day in a pew when I was like 7 years old...I still like some biblical passages, but that's about it. I'm kind of that way with all religion... Some of the passages are nice to read, some of the artwork is inspiring, some of the music is cool, BUT a lot of all religious information is pure and total bullshit created by power hungry idiots ages ago.... But that's off topic.

Well now we begin into semantics.... Like I said sentience is the effect of energy being present, it is not the energy itself. The energy has no sentience, it enables it to exist but it is not sentience itself. I am to witness. People who go unconscious and temporarily die are jolted back to life by electrical energy, not sentience. You can't apply sentience to a problem that it can't solve and hope to achieve anything can you? .... That's like shoving a square through a circle. If the true self is that, then the true self is nothing but space. A giant void of potentiality. Which is not a "self" whatsoever, it's just the present moment flowing out of the past and into the future. So this part of you then I don't think should be called the "true self", because that implies that all other aspects of yourself are untrue...which they aren't. My thumbs are mine, not yours, my face is mine, not yours. The things that make me different are what I am inclined to label with a sense of self. The things which make me identical to you fundamentally are the exact opposite, they're more like "us" then the self. Like yes we have brains, yes we have emotions, yes we have this and that..... But the quality of it and the quantity of them is what your " true" self is, in the truest sense of the word. Who in the world could ever be able to pinpoint the origination of something that does not exist?....when you say source of non existence what are you talking about ? Little green swords dancing in wind, polar bears livin in the rainforest.... What are you talking about source of non existence? If something doesn't exist, it has no source.... Because it doesn't exist.

I disagree. The more power or development one attains the clearer and more intuitive one becomes. All pillars of wisdom that can weather the hurricane can and will be upheld through all facets of life, spiritual power is no exception. I'm not an idiot, or a monster. Just because I can do something doesn't mean I should. Duh.

Mantak Chia himself is a Christian. I do not consider myself a Christian, or extoll christian theology to anyone. Jesus is just a good example of a human being who was at an advanced level of cosmic understanding, you know....the miracles and stuff....there are probably thousands to choose from in the East, but I wasn't fed eastern stories in sunday school....
