A masturbation habit for optimal health
Jadespear replied to BluePickle's topic in Daoist Discussion
People aren't supposed to abstain from sex or ejaculation... its one of the most basic natural instincts that will always be there. Don't even think that "masters" and "monks" outgrow the need based on their level of "development".... history is full of stories of all religious people who actually become sexual deviants, rapists, and all the rest of the bad stuff... all because they like you - erroneously believe they understand enough about their biology to control it willingly or they have some other stupid viewpoint inconsistent with the truth.. They don't. Very few people ever have or ever will. Denying yourself what you feel is stupid. However, there does need to be a balance between urges and what is sensible... thats all on you. If you actually wanted to know what the esoteric possibilities are with sexual energy - you could learn about it, but its pretty doubtful anyone will ever be able to talk to you about it based on their experience, unless they are very highly enlightened people. Learning basic self control of yourself is different.... thats pretty simple. Don't overdo it. Biologically speaking - a human male is recommended to ejaculate once every 3 or 4 days to clear their prostate to avoid issues that could lead to prostate problems... Of course, as you age your libido will decrease. Duh, old people are dying faster than young people - they're not supposed to make people anymore because they can't support them like they need. Good luck on not giving yourself hemorrhoids! Hahahahahahahaha. -
To all: The term "Magician" is only useful to refer to the apparent elevated knowledge, wisdom, and ability a person has that is above and below other people. We all know that everything that exists isn't magical in the sense that it can't be explained or that it is supernatural and beyond comprehension... Therefore - a magician is just someone who is more capable than others in doing whatever they want to do. They have freewill to use their knowledge and ability just like a normal person does. Magicians don't serve a defined purpose, they do whatever they want, just like everyone else. However, there is a distinction between a magician and a sorcerer. A magician abides by the truth they have learned and actually endeavors to live in balance and harmony with the laws of existence, to that end they are moral based people who believe in the common good because they are a part of it. They seldom perform anything for their own self gratification and never violate the laws for their own purposes, because they know they will incur severe consequences that are undesirable for their well being and the well being of others. A sorcerer is the opposite. A sorcerer is driven by their ego to get whatever they want by any means necessary and doesn't care about others, they are mostly immoral and seek to live their lives according to their own rules, which in the end usually delivers them into places and positions of misfortune. Sorcerers mostly depend on the power of other spiritual beings because they think it's easier to do that, than to develop themselves in that direction by their own efforts. They are lazy, misguided, and ultimately a liability to the common good. Sometimes sorcerers are called black magicians. And there is a clear distinction between them and magicians. The duality of good and evil is very real. There is no point in trying to say that nothing is good or that nothing is evil...because thats an impossible way of living your life. You have to make decisions based on something. You can't always be justifying immoral actions by saying they aren't immoral in an absolute sense. Even if one takes the position of justifying things that are immoral by that standard, they will still feel the effects of the consequences. I don't believe any good comes from ignoring the plain and simple truth about life at large. People are naturally supposed to live a certain way, we are supposed to grow as spirits by learning about this world and everything in it. And we are supposed to support one another in that pursuit. People have to have basic things in life to live well, like sobriety, love, social groups, hobbies, and private studies. Without these things, people become abnormal. Nearly all cases of awful people in the world came about because they felt abandoned, misunderstood, without love, and without the objective understanding of how to live life in a normal and balanced way. They end up going to extremes because they see no reason why not to, they end up being slaves to their own problems - all because they don't see past themselves, they turn inwards so much so that they forget about everyone else and have no regard for anyone but themselves. Thats the exact sign of a narcissistic person, they are a danger to themselves and to other people. All it takes to avoid that from becoming true is to have a normal and balanced attitude towards life and understand that not everything is about you all the time. You're just a part of the bigger picture.

It sounds like you have been targeted by spiritual entities. I was once too... the ones that targeted me were not nice for a time, and some eventually were. The hindus know and acknowledge that it is normal to first encounter negative beings, because there are many of them and most people aren't developed enough in the positive direction to only see and be affected by only positive beings. However, eventually as one grows in truth and light they attract more positive than negative. After much reflection in trying to figure out why spirits visited me, all I can deduce is that they were attracted to me because of my own fears, lack of conscience, and being uncertain about the basics of good and evil, etc. I was in a search mode in that period in my life, just as it sounds like you were. From what I have learned about the invisible world that surrounds us, the following are true and have proven themselves to be true multiple times over: 1. Like attracts like. Spiritual beings are around us all the time. The types of beings (positive, negative, neutral, etc.) are drawn to the qualities that one exudes in thought mostly, and also in emotion. Our minds are like radios that send out messages which they very easily hear, they can also speak thoughts into your mind if it is open enough and without any conviction that it is yours and is protected by you. Hence, the negative ones are drawn to delude, coerce, and mess your life up. The positive ones obviously do the opposite, they help, nurture, and provide encouragement towards the good. When you are in the " I don't know what things really are" mode of being - you are an instant target for negative beings, because you are very easily manipulated, and they love to manipulate people. 2. Magic, spirituality, metaphysics ( whatever you want to call all of that ) - is not a game. It is a science that obeys certain laws just like cause and effect, etc. If you play around with it without knowing what you're doing, your liable to make mistakes and cause things you'll probably regret, and also are open to influence from a dimension you don't fully understand - which puts you into a more or less victim position. Yet another reason, why caution and discretion are basically the utmost important thing when learning about all of that. There is just a lot to know, and it is hard to really grasp it all in a way that is safe if you randomly explore stuff like a fool in the woods. The invisible world, magic, and spirituality are actually in my mind the highest things a person can hope to comprehend - and they are the most true and fundamental to existence itself. I mean, what more is there when you know why everything is the way it is and can actually attest to the true validity of its objective truth? Knowing is one part of the path, wisdom is the other. 3. We have more influence in the outcomes of our lives the more that we know about all of the above. Thats why the spiritual path is a timeless tradition and is what eventually everyone must go through at some point. It's like an evolution of sorts that is part of the path of existence. Everyone and everything wants to have total control over their lives so they can enjoy them to their fullest extent... no one actually likes sorrow and sadness, they can't be endured forever because the will of God that is in us and everything doesn't permit it to be so. Existence wants to enjoy itself. 4. There is always hope. Hope is an eternal principle that cannot die. 5. There is always consequence. No one can escape this.

... you're not describing anything close to what actual magicians know and do. ...your rants on magic on this site are pretty immature. ... if you took a more cognizant approach with real understanding of things you may pierce into the truth of things. Otherwise, your'e just going to keep on ranting about gods and nonsense... real magicians don't rely on gods, prayers, or anything but themselves, their own knowledge, and their own ability. ... and I also think you greatly misunderstand what real magic actually is and is meant for. It's not a game, or a tool to satisfy your own curiosity, neurotic impulses, or even your own selfish ambitions. Magic is a real way of working with the laws of existence to restore things, people, and places back into natural balance and harmony after they have been askew... and it is also a way to sow your own and others destiny step by step. It's the ultimate science and art of everything in this universe, perhaps a way to other universes... please consider what you are spending time on and why.

There is Chaos in Free Will, but all Order is fascist.
Jadespear replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
It's pretty simple. Facts of life and fate prompt you to make decisions, that's using your will. You're free to express it how you want. Order is not fascist in the real sense. We are surrounded by a universe of tremendous order that is ineffable. Without structure and cause and effect, existence could not be , occur, or evolve. It's impossible to refute. Trying to do so is futile, immature, and a waste of time. Everything exists because of the will. It is the most basic quality of everything. -
The Hermetic Tradition or Lineage
Jadespear replied to Apech's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Why does it matter? Just because there was or wasn't an unbroken lineage doesn't render the information anymore or any less true... when seen for what it is. Hermeticism was an evolution from the ancient magic of Egypt. Which was a real practice used to aid their civilization. -
Does anyone use music in a scientific or targeted way to attune themselves to something they desire?
-
...Yes, I understand the gist of what you're getting at. However, I believe you are kind of deluding yourself because you are misperceiving definitions and actual truth. For example - these "supernatural" things... aren't super natural... understanding them to be - places undue significance and glamour on them, which can coerce and distract your mind from what they actually and truly are. Same thing goes for "powers"... "abilities" etc. All that any of that is - is a manifested realization of the dynamics of what things are and how they operate. Hence for example - telepathic abilities; you don't like possess the ability... you simply reach a stage where your consciousness sees into the consciousness of others, you are more or less growing into the larger connected reality of what things are.... its not a "power". It's more like an enlightened pathway and you kind of ride it/influence it.....when correctly understood. Speaking as a fellow explorer into the unseen - I can tell you in complete confidence, that if you remain in a vacant state of mind without proper astral shielding or protection - astral entities (non-human intelligences, departed human beings, demons, angels, etc.) do have the ability to speak thoughts into your mental space... thats what happens when you hear all sorts of proclamations and the like. If you believe that in the past you have been prophetic, as evidenced by some sort of "....will occur " thought or "there will be... - that has then happened.... you may be mistaken. As what you've actually done in that case, may have been to make it happen yourself... it wasn't going to occur. You made it occur by affirming it to be. THATS what IS DANGEROUS. Thats why - there are preparatory exercises taught by mystic and religious orders to protect you from such karmas and fate. The mind is a very powerful tool that can be used for right or wrong... And please try and understand things for your own betterment in a clear way. God hasn't betrayed you... sounds like you may misunderstand things. God is not on anyone's side. God is a part of everything that exists, and everything that exists is part of God. What God is not - is falsehood. Thinking about things in terms of "mine" "sides" etc. is a delusion brought on by duality. Duality is not the full reality. Unity is the full reality. In unity all things exist and occur - like everything about our lives....all thoughts and all feelings, positive and negative, all beings - positive and negative. The circumstances of your life, and everyone's lives for that matter, are largely a result and continuation of their own actions. Be it actions from past lives or this lifetime. Of course there are things I don't know and can't explain... but for the most part that is true and explains everything about why a person experiences what they do. Negative entities are drawn to negative people, fearful people, angry people, etc. as in the classic maxim "like attracts like". They fuel themselves off of negativity. If you don't want them around.... try being more positive, constructive, and charitable towards other things, beings, people, and places... ...Lastly - please do not lose hope in the path of a mystic. Mystics are more or less - people who intuitively apprehend the unseen forces of life itself and find awe and inspiration in them. They refuse intellectual dogma overriding what they know to be true. And they also have enough faith and knowledge in themselves to venture on the path of ultimate understanding in a way that is suitable for themselves. "The tao that can be named is not the true tao. The way that can be followed, is not the eternal way." "One truth, many paths to it."
-
I believe you seriously misunderstand what the actual term "mystic" is defined as. Seems like you are someone who opened themselves up too much and didn't like what found its way to you, and now you are powerless to do anything about it.... I pity you. "mystic" refers to a person who does not believe in religious rituals and dogma to understand the absolute truth. But is rather a type of person who is entirely self sufficient in learning about it by themselves through their own experiences of mental contemplation, emotional understanding, etc. Life is not random in an absolute sense... there are laws by which everything is created, functions, sustains, and dies. No living thing escapes this truth. Life may be random in a relative sense, as in - things occur at random times not at pre-destined exact times, relative to when they should or should not occur, based upon the karma of any given thing or individual. If you want to understand things, I suggest you search for other information that is not how you understand western "mysticism" to be. Life is for living, plain and simple. Ah, but what does that mean you say? What is living? Come now my friend, even you can clearly see what life is and what it is not. The great thing about life is that it contains a concept or principle of coherent harmony across nearly every and all forms of life and their nature. What occurs in a small way in one place, also occurs in a large way somewhere else, and the two share the common concept of how they are similar or reflections of one another.

After Self-realization, what else needs to be done?
Jadespear replied to dwai's topic in General Discussion
...I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the only real end game in any of this is two fold; 1. Understand everything 2. Choose a way to be of service to everything. The real cool thing is that no matter who you are, what you are, what you are doing - you are already doing this. The great tao has endowed all that arises from itself to be in harmony with itself. It is impossible to refute the absolute truth. All spirituality and religion are like ways to reveal more of the truth to oneself...including every practice to become something different or greater than what one currently is. But even then, as the brightest and most luminous star of enlightened intelligence... you'd still have to do something for something or someone. Albeit possibly just yourself.- 211 replies

Could someone explain the Buddhist belief system to me?
Jadespear replied to DreamBliss's topic in Buddhist Discussion
No. Rigpa does not mean knowledge. You're wrong. Knowledge is just learned memory - bits of data. Rigpa is the true natural way of being aware or intelligent ( rough translation.) No. The universe does not appear because of ignorance - it is self arising and spontaneously manifested continuously because of its nature to do so ( the path ). Liberation in this sense is a bad word to use. You aren't liberated from anything - you're just in a state of mental bliss. Non-existence and liberation are just philosophical paradoxes. -
Could someone explain the Buddhist belief system to me?
Jadespear replied to DreamBliss's topic in Buddhist Discussion
I too am learning the comparisons between buddhism and other schools of thought. From what I can glean from all the translated information is below. The first thing to bring up is that there has to be a real objective understanding of the historical context of buddhism within the larger world at the point in time it was sprouting. In the time when the being we call the "buddha" was alive, the word - "god" meant a physical being or sentient entity; like the gods of Hinduism and all other religions. The word we now subscribe to "god" as the "source of all existence" is different than it was then way back in the day... hence why buddhism does not talk about the validity of a creator god that is eternal everywhere doing everything. As if, if someone were to ask the buddha what is God, he would have replied - Who? Buddhists have different names for the same things across other religions for core concepts; Christian/Jewish concept of God ( The uncreated causer or initiator ) - Hinduism concept of the Supreme Unmanifest - Buddhist concept of Base of Mind ( Zhang Zhung Dzogchen calls the "Primordial Base Energy" ) - Taoists call it the Wu Chi. ------ They all talk about it. How it relates to a person is understood in different ways by the different schools of thought per their specific time, place in history, and overall what they could find out about it or discern. What you are referring to below, is what is called Dogma - or belief structure, which like above is peculiar to people, political events, etc... so don't take it as the actual real absolute truth about things --- it can't be, because it's just a way of organizing what people see, not what actually is there..... the buddhists take the absolute objective approach to everything and define things by how they function, so how things act and relate with one another is how they describe things. It is very much an outlook based in reason and deductive logic. What is actually true everywhere is beyond words - trees are not trees; thats just the name that we give them. So God is just a name we give the thing, etc. Dogma: Christians = God, Jesus (His son), and the Holy Spirit (the holy trinity.) Yogic/Advaita = I am God, you are God, we are all together seperately yet collective God and connected to each other. Buddhist = ??? First of all - allow me to comment on your dogma stated. Point #1 - Jesus of Nazareth never ever called himself the Son of God. He called himself the Son of "Man". In that time period - saying you were a son also meant that you were a servant. You served something or someone... like the son of the blacksmith serves the blacksmith... etc. It was not until after Jesus died that people started to create Christianity and form dogma around what Jesus said, after all Jesus was raised by jewish rabbis and other jewish people. So, when understood correctly in the right historical context - Jesus just said that he was a servant of man, mankind - which if you believe it all - his actions mostly attest to the truth of that phrase. The Bible that you and I have now - is not the same as the original versions of the Bible that were created over hundreds of years by different authors. Christianity was appropriated by many different political groups for their own purposes - the most notable of which was the Roman Empire. Jesus called God - the Father. As in the generator, because this makes it easy to understand for people. He said "I am in the father, and the father is in me". Said another way = I am in the light of all existence, and the light of all existence is in me. Point #2 - Yogic/Advaita - your understanding is wrong. There is no mention of the word "god" in the vedas. They refer to the "absolute". As in - the unchanging. For yogic and hindu schools of thought believed that the word we now use called "real" in their time had to be a description of something that did not change.... because to them if it changed it could not be "real"... as the thing observed over time - became something else and hence was not "real" or worthy of worship or contemplation. Point #3 - The Buddhists??? --- well well well, the real buddhists define things using reason and logic. To buddhists - everything in existence everywhere arises out of somewhere... out of the primordial base of mind ( source of all existence ). They separate out things like the mind, the physical body, and energy to understand them - but they realize that all these things are connected and influence one another. The buddhist believe in "potentiality". as in - this very moment that you are reading this will flow into the future as some shape or form of an experience--- i.e. existence itself continuing. And they deductively reason from that fact - that the past also behaves in the same way - so, therefore existence itself is an "un-ending present moment"...... the words we use to describe time as past, present, and future - are understood a little differently - there is the past, there is the ongoing potential of now ( the present ) and the eventual outcome that is the future ( potential reflected or realized or manifested ).... Which in the end - when understood correctly to the literal meaning of the word "dukkah". makes total and complete sense with what Buddhism is all about. The word "dukkah" at that time in history meant - "not sitting correctly on a hinge"..... so translated into the first noble truth - actually means - "Life does not sit correctly on it's hinge." In other words - Life is un-predictable. Which is imbibed with the concept that life is always full of potential and cause and effect ( karma and dependent origination ) determine potentials ( life events and experiences ). So what it all comes down to in the end - for buddhists mostly is to avoid unpleasant and unwanted life events and experiences..... they want to be happy or have no experiences at all ( abiding in the restful open awareness of the natural state of mind) In order to do this they follow a way of life and philosophy so organized to nullify effects of bad/good karma - because both are only bad or good from a subjective point of view and hence neither label is true, and to eventually render karma completely under their control, so they live happily with themselves and with each other. So buddhists believe in action-consequence realities ( karma ) and believe in being good people because it is good to do based on the facts that they observe of how it affects their lives and those around them. Is there anything else that anyone really needs? The existence of God? Endless pontificating ideas and philosophy? ...... not really. Buddhism was created and spread for everyone to understand and to use - because it's basic tenants are always true. The most highest adept to the most lowly layman can understand and use the basic tenants of buddhism to live happily in the world and share in the happiness of those around them. While there may be ultimately more to learn and to understand about everything in the entire phenomenal universe... buddhism does not really assert that knowing such things will really help you live with the facts of the realities of this life - so those things are not it's main objective. To begin to inquire into the eastern schools of thought; you should ask yourself the following- 1. What is the difference between truth and belief? 2. What is the difference between self-identity and actual presence? 3. How do I understand the nature of light, frequency, sound, color, and vibration? 4. Is it at all possible for a literal separation between the past, the present, and the future? 5. Without an absolute standard, how can ethics or morality be established? 6. How could there be a purpose to life? On Heaven and Hell - and asking yourself these types of questions out of what sounds like being afraid to let go of such concepts for others. Know that, there are heavens and hells talked about in judaism, islam, buddhism, and Hinduism. These places attract souls, energy bodies, people, (whatever term you want to say). to them by nature of the persons karma, vibration, or essence. Again with that driving force behind such a trip being karma itself. As in - if you are a terrible person your whole life you are drawn to hell by the fact that your karma delivers you there, if you are an outstanding, loving, and benevolent/well natured brilliant person your whole life you are drawn to Heaven. So - I'd venture to say that it doesn't matter if you believe in them or not, just like the fact of tomorrow. They exist, but only in the sense that they are both the extremes of the spectrum of vibration. Hence - low vibration ( fear, sadness ) is hell - High vibration ( love, inspiration, true joy, bliss ) is Heaven. AND - people do go there while still alive. That's what spiritual adepts do. Thats why we have awareness of them even being an idea. -
In several occult/religious schools of thought there is this idea of evolving or elevating ones consciousness to the level of being able to merge with the ocean of consciousness itself. The idea I can understand; but why to do it I don’t understand. Why would someone do this?

.... I totally get what you're saying. I'd like to add that I have in the past actually "seen" this said universe from my own personal journeys within. It is filled with stars. So... in a certain sense, be assured that said universe is totally real and exists. Feeling like it is there leads you to investigate... as it did me. The larger truth that this universe is a part of becomes a great subject to study for oneself as you live. You'll find that many people like to assert so called "universal" truths after they notice some type of cause/effect relationship between their inner universe and the outer universe. However, the more you study and see.....the more it feels like and makes sense that it is all just one universe that is intermingled between everyone and everything. ...The space within is the same as the space around you in the sense that it operates under the same laws. That's why people say "as it is above, so it is below". Everything that exists and operates on a large macrocosmic scale, also exists and operates exactly the same on a minute scale everywhere. Keep in mind that the things being referred to that are the same are things like metaphysical energy dynamics and truths that can be seen throughout time - like everything begins, sustains itself, and dies or changes or evolves... and things like everything vibrates because it is all energy, etc. So - that is why it is important to nurture the inner universe with compassion and understanding IF you want your life to be nurtured by the larger universe ( your fate ) in the same way.

...There is really only one method that encompasses all methods - understanding and knowing the true nature of things, how they come into being and why and what they can do/cannot do.

Astrology may have a truth, but it is hard to decipher. Let's take a look at what it actually is. 1. Fact 1 - astrology is based on "fixed" star systems beyond the Milky Way galaxy. 2. Fact 2 - these star systems are then "imagined to be" shapes of certain mythical beings and animals...each of which contain certain qualities unique to their own imagined form... which was collectively created and changed through time by cultures. 3. Point 1 - I can imagine a figure or shape on anything outside of myself by way of my imagination.... but that doesn't make my shape really there or carry any type of quality of significance at all... 4. Fact 3 - the whole system of astrology is based on the relative position of the earth, the sun, and the zodiac. The zodiac signs are just used as basically place holders for degree spans within a 360 degree circle or sphere that surrounds our galaxy... and there are stars within them that are not visible to the naked eye, which means the popular "constellations" of the zodiac while existent do not provide all the influence in the span of their little place amongst the total 360 degrees. ( 30 degrees each ) 360 /12. 5. Conclusion - if one believes in cosmic forces beyond our galaxy having an effect on one's personality, than what else do these cosmic forces have effects on? I mean they are giant cosmic forces... people's little personalities on our planet cannot be the only thing that cause or effect...so what else is there? Can anything else be seen? Even if these spans of 30 degrees have an effect on people, what is the effect? I mean we clearly already showed that drawing imaginary mythical beings is totally hogwash... as I can draw something totally different than what is already accepted as true and say it is true... I can draw a mythical whatever and say it has this whatever energy.... so that aspect of astrology is scarily misguided and foolish. 6. There could be some significance to it - I mean many occult schools of thought place some level of significance to the zodiac, mostly because it is unchanged... and occult people like to notice things and draw conclusions, and everyone likes to believe everything is connected... lol. The real questions are more like, to what extent are they connected? I am, you are, the tree is, the planets are, etc. etc. what an ant does doesn't affect what happens in the suns core, what I do doesn't affect what happens to you across the world and vice versa not in a practical sense, what the moon does doesn't affect what stars outside the galaxy do, does it? I mean how would you ever know?

My summary of simple philosophical foundations
Jadespear replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
While the reality of all things united can be seen as a picture of unity; defined as the unending present moment from a certain point of view, there is also an aspect of how long things exist in certain forms. Saying there is no such thing as time is also denying the simple fact that if that were true in a physical sense there would be no means for things to change. But things do change. Because they do there is an aspect of nature that works to make that happen, which we call time. -

....dude this is stupid abstract mumbo jumbo... time isn't an illusion in the literal sense, it exists... time gives shape to everything. I challenge you to expand on the illusory aspect you claim, while using the knowledge you have, not what you read. -

I think it would be helpful to illustrate another aspect of this discussion. That aspect is the idea of timelessness expressed through certain "qualities". Hence the quality of being courageous or happy or focused exists in it's own right as a quality, and also is expressed within time. -

Thoughts being "material" in what sense? In the sense that they have an effect on things (a measure of quantity) by virtue of their quality? Everything is bound to time......? Interesting stance to ponder. Again, in what sense? In the sense that everything can be said to occur relative to a measurable period of time? But what about things that do exist, or that can exist, that are not defined by or governed by an element of time? -
My summary of simple philosophical foundations
Jadespear replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Does everything not abide by a number of commonalities? Absolute truth is what you're trying to identify in parts, calling different forms and concepts different things. What everything actually is physically- we could call the "material truth" The original intent or meaning inherent in all the "material things" - we could call the spiritual or essential or the "why" of things The facts about how things relate or interact dynamically - we could call cause and effect or reciprocity The story of all things, they are created, sustained, and perish - we could call the saga The different aspects of existence, the temporal or sequential ( time-space plane ), the energetic ( bound to space, but not time ),and the eternal ( timeless and spaceless, unbound, and infinite ) - we could call the "spectrum of existence" -
Practical uses of what we call "Magick" were why it was spread and taught and used. Uses for things like healing the sick, attracting rain to grow crops, bringing about seemingly miraculous births, etc. ( events that could only be made real by the use of Magick, and that people needed to have happen because their circumstances behooved them to be used ) Magick in essence is about harmony between the inner world and the outer world, not about controlling others and selfish desires. Magical tools, practices, etc are just like other tools and practices... they can only do so much, we can only do so much. The entirety of existence is not meant for anyone to control, it's meant to be experienced. I believe there is a very good reason that high level adepts skilled in Magick come from honorable places, their karma helps them proceed deeper into the mysteries rather than stifling them, because they are not inclined towards the propensity to do anything but help other people and situations with what they know and can do. The universe aids them, because they aid it.

How to become conscious of your thoughts.
Jadespear replied to helpfuldemon's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
The only one truth that there is, that organizes all other phenomenon is the law of cause and effect ( karma ). Or as the buddhists like to call it "dependent ordination". What you think about has power and potential to cause effects, etc. If you're looking for some overarching theme which will serve as the standard to judge or cross reference your thinking, that is an intellectual concept....I think you're looking for absolute truth. "Only one who masters all the laws of the microcosm and macrocosm can speak on the validity and significance of what is absolutely true" Everyone has a different level of cognizance on what they know about the totality of what is absolutely true. Few people, spirits, beings, etc. ever know all of it. Scientists know a great deal about the laws of the physical world, that is part of the absolute truth. Thinkers and meditators know a great deal about the mind and how it works, that is part of the absolute truth. Etc. Etc. All the laws and dynamics that work to create, sustain, and destroy what we know as existence are all parts of this absolute truth. -
How often have I dreamt of wandering the world What level of mystical ability would I need to withstand the elements? What level of humanity would I need to assimilate into human events? Where would I go, what would I do? Would you wander the world? Would you attempt to survive against nature? Would you venture into the unknown out of sheer spite for the insanity of the modern world?

Thanks everyone. While, I'm not really a practicing "meditator" to these levels... I still am a wanderer desiring to roam into the unknown. The world is a very large place, living in modern society seems stifling at times. Freedom is really what I'm after, the power to choose the course of my fate outside of the bounds of trading time and skills for money. The small tastes of blissful experiences have gleaned across my being time and time again... I wonder how to find a place to reside in them for a long long long time, maybe forever. Do the legends of meditators seeped in meditation for years even hold merit, are they actually true? What about the taoist immortals... does anyone know where to find them?
