  1. Is KunLun Bogus?

Nice post, do you serve pancakes? Anyone looking for something will not get it from kunlun, that's not what it is about.

  7. Description of Kunlun level 1

I see now what can happen with hodge-poges. Clearly the sincere seeker needs enough information to get them started, answering possible questions, addressing possible pitfalls and dispelling misconceptions. The book does that perfectly (and it's not even a $30 book ) Well at least I noticed I was being stupid, just after the gun, again. Been a lot of "almost" recently. I wonder if that means I'm getting better or worse. Am I going a bit weird, posting poll's and vacillating opinions ?!?
  8. Is KunLun Bogus?

When these sort of things start to go massive it often but not always becomes more difficult for the late arrivals to get access to the original teacher. Layers start to appear, even it it's just because of logistics rather than intent. And many teachers decide not to go through the constant debate and just scale back to a quiet garage with some close students. I wonder where we are at with this and I wonder what the chances are for :- 1. A person who just reads the book and does the practice for 3 years. 2. A person who makes it to a seminar and gets the transmission, only once 3. If web based forums help at all Speaking of golden dragon it's been mentioned a few times that Max will not tour forever. How long will the window of opportunity will be open?
  9. Sigung has schools in Sydney, could be our lineage. Would not know of me but would know of my Sifu in Townsville. Small world Yes there is meditation. I was responsible for making my brothers spending a class sitting down and learning it My Sifu personally does not do that, he prefers moving meditation (Tai Chi), but feeling like I needed to be doing seated meditation is the reason I ended up doing kunlun, to get the good 20 min stillness meditation at the end. (I have not shared kunlun with my brothers, not sure that it won't send people nuts yet ) We were also taught our Chi Gungs right from the start, usually in our school they are only taught at the green belt level (usually that's 2~3 years) There are 10 of them, don't know any "official names" they have numbers Sifu is very much "less talk more practice". There are golden bell practices in there too apparently again we just do them. At least we are in Aus so there is a chance I could show you one day. Going to practice now actually, try to pick up some remote viewing with your kunlun (The kunlun jokes are for an Aussie style laugh readers, no attachment to abilities, no flames)

As always so much good stuff, great points. What I think (I don't know, have not read, personal belief warning) is that the transmission is to bring you to the higher level vibration that you feel when you are with a great teacher, and to let you keep it long enough so you can feel that way too, without constant contact. I've been looking over old notes, and I always feel a bit down and end up practicing heaps of tai chi this time of year and I think it's because I miss my Sifu. Just being in the same room with him is a pleasure. And I hadn't noticed till Trunk pointed it out but my Sifu does not want a following either. 2 of my sihing's basically got him to start teaching kung fu from his garage after years of asking. Then he picked up a few students from his occasional Tai Chi classes, like me. And it's grown it into something with classes twice a week in a rented hall. But its much more a reflection of what the senior students and Si Gung wants than what Sifu wants.

  12. Bump. I'm finding that while I might be able to repress my sexuality through sheer willpower, I doubt that path would be particularly healthy. Actual non-attachment to sex is currently beyond me, I don't want to not want it Anyone feel like sponsoring my so I can lock myself in a brothel like Liu Ch'and-sheng till the desire burns itself out
  13. Is KunLun Bogus?

    2. doubt or uncertainty, especially about the teachings (vicikicchā)[6] 4. sensual desire (kāmacchando)[8] 5. ill will (vyāpādo or byāpādo)[9] 7. lust for immaterial existence (arūparāgo) 10. ignorance (avijjā)[13] I'm still bound by the above, at least.
  14. Seeing that this has turned into a Tai Chi discussion for a bit. I once read an interview with a Tai Chi "master" (sorry can't remember which one and I didn't buy that book) and he was asked if he had his life over again what would he do different, his reply. "Learn only one form" My Sifu knows Chen as well as Yang. It's an old Yang style, same one as shown in Yang Chenfu's book "Essence and applications of Taijiquan" from 1934, not Erle's old style yang with the fajing. So in light of the "masters" comment I asked my Sifu if there was any "use" in us learning Chen style. He answered "I will teach you after you know Tong Long" so I've got 5~forever years before I have a look at learning Chen Also hidden in Yang Chenfu's book "Essence and applications of Taijiquan" or Fu Zhongwen's "Mastering Yang Style Taijiquan" is a quote. "This is the most that you can change my fathers form (The old style yang with fajing that Erle talks about) without loosing it's essence." So people have been poking fun at "watered down styles" for a while. Personally I don't believe the quote as my Sigung teaches the Beijing 24 and I'm sure he wouldn't do that if he though it was without essence

  16. Watched Little Miss Sunshine last night. Excellent movie spoiler alert, perhaps old movie now The pageant itself was just great. I too was terrified that everyone would just laugh at her. I'd thought that she might be spectacular but the one doing rolls and flips before her ruled that out. And it turned out she was the best one there after all!!!! Great routine laughed almost as much as when the cop pulled over the van when the horn was stuck and found...........porn !!!!! DVD had alternate endings, but glad they picked the one they did. Perfect, the family acting together and riding off into the sunset, still breaking the rules, I cried. But the actual beauty contestants, Ick children looking like women??? Can't even look at them without feeling sick, my face screws up thinking about it. How can people do that?
  17. Haiku Chain

At this moment, look The light of day fills the world What is hidden still
  18. 2 quick questions

I must be doing something different (i.e. different practice), my Sifu expect that people will start to "feel something" after 3~6 mts of practice. Took me 6, I'm not good at these things. The effects gets more noticeable over the years as you practice more
  19. Description of Kunlun level 1

Back at home, found my quote page 95 "This book is a gift for the world. Please share this knowledge freely." Time to actually feel some bliss well after Tai chi and Kung Fu and walking and more Tai Chi. haha life is such fun cool fun
  20. Description of Kunlun level 1

not real helpfull star. But it's a good point (Cam's) like what Mantra was getting at (I think) The book gives you all the information you need to go out by yourself and do kunlun. Max said in a lecture all you really need it yourself (not an exact quote)
  21. Description of Kunlun level 1

Exactly, that's what makes me think that there is no interest in making money, it's too cheap (Really don't know where this $$$ impression comes from) But then you have actually spoken to Max, I'm still waiting Perhaps 1,000's of people reading this on the net is not what he wants. He did say once that there was a reason this was always transmitted in person, the teacher can see the level of the student. That is the way I think too. Exactly, which is why I'm sort of happy that you posted it (sorry Chris) as it is going to get out there in dribs and drabs. Would it not be better to have an official version, easly available? (o.k. the book is pretty easy to get a hold of). Perhaps this is another vote for the proposed kunlun site . And I'm not saying that people should learn kunlun by watching what we do or what we describe!! We have all seen kung fu students "teaching" others techniques that they have just learn in the last few months, always ammusing BUT this is the question that everyone seems to miss, doesn't Max encourage this in the book on page 94 with "This method is freely available to everyone" Edit page 95 "This book is a gift for the world. Please share this knowledge freely."
