  1. p.s. You would think nobody would want to play music written by an unknown 37 year old either..... and I certainly wouldn't try to get someone to pay me for a song at the moment. BUT my friend that play music are more than happy to try out my songs and ideas. It's great fun for all involved (much less fun for those that have to listen to the recordings) but it inspires us to practice and improve.
  2. Sounds like you are quite creative.... and you do sound like a writer as most that I know do tend to like keeping to themselves and shy away from social gatherings. Is there a writers guild/club near you? In town here we have a writers club that goes away for weekend retreats, you would think it would be quite intimidating as some of them are very good writers, but they also remember what it's like trying to get started and can help with networking and writing tips etc. The other idea could be a cinema club, again here we have a club that get together once a week at the "art" cinema where they show interesting foreign films and can discuss them after. If you don't like just going out and "meeting people" (I know I don't) then a activity you enjoy, that also happens to involve contact with others, is easier to get the motivation to do.
  3. TTB Song project

Currently playing a Conn C melody sax from the 1920's Much more fun to play with guitars with their love of unfriendly horn keys like E Blues scale E.mp3
  4. Origami!

Origami is great fun, I'd like to learn that "new" (at least for me) wet paper folding, they make some beautiful pieces with that. ... so many hobbies so little time
  5. Anyone hear from Sean?

I've not heard from Sean for a few months now, but I saw some very cool paintings on facebook so I hope he is doing o.k.
  6. Do Ya'll guys drink?

IIRC Dr Morris use to enjoy a cigar and a tasty beverage What is annoying thought is once you do feel nice and tipsy, but your breathing changes, that "feeling" drops down and out and you feel pretty normal again... frustrating
  7. Taoist practices for women

  8. Breaking Bad

Its not hard to roll someone into the recovery position when they are choking
  9. Breaking Bad

Just finished the end of Season 4, well worth it. I had stopped watching breaking bad after season 2 with what Walter did (or more specifically didn't do) to Jessie's girlfriend. He really did become the one who knocks
  10. Way to go Stig, nice site, Dao De _/\_ After I was exposed to Tai Chi by a teacher showing the school at morning parade I spent most of my life (school - uni - working life) teaching myself. While I made significant improvement once I met my Sifu, I would not have even been interested in Tai Chi that many years later if I wasn't still reading books and web sites trying to learn myself.

  12. Taobums Q&A with Kosta Danaos

I like those questions _/\_ mjjbecker
  13. If you are able to help out with some ideas of where to hold an event in Sydney, Chris can be reached via - [email protected]
  14. TTB Song project

Well we certainly could cover Tears in Heaven,it's a beautifull song. Not lots of room for improvisation (I like creating original songs because then your chops are not getting compared with Clapton ) but if you wanted to lay down something as a .mp3 then we can see if anyone else can add something to it. I might be able to put some sax on it, but would need to get some sheet music
  15. If you don't have a contact for Chris ( Mantra68 ) send me a PM or email and I and pass on the info
  16. I spoke with Max

20 months ago yes they are And just to clarify, this is incorrect as reported posts can/will be removed that breach the forum terms and rules
  17. TTB Song project

Ok so I've used FourTracks Lite recording from my phone to make a 3 min 12 bar in E I'm playing- bass - Casio px-330 inc a simple drum track rhythm - Hohner Special 20 (A) chorus of lead - Lee Oskar Model #1910 (A) (stuffed the turnaround a bit) some singing (so that nobody worries about how bad they sing ) recorded - Samsung Galaxy S II phone mixed - FourTracks Lite - Android Can anyone lay something over this? edit : slight rethink as our upload limit is only 3.39MB and this file is 3.8 Ziped it's still too big, a .rar is small enough but can't upload that extention so.... I've uploaded the .wav to google doc's, should be able to download from this link https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B5map6JukXSCZTE0ZjViMDktZDVhOS00MmZmLWE1MGQtYTUwMzdhODRmNmZh&hl=en_GB or Blues in E.mp3 Edit: also just the rhythm section track, we can add to this to get a nice full sounding section Blues in E rhythm section.mp3 then using that common track that we can then mix in the various lead recordings.
  18. Got Any Fiction Recommendations?

I really enjoyed reading this. Explores the relationships of people doing things I find interesting (being at uni, doing plays, learning about themselves, includes a1st exposure to Tai Chi) Was hooked from the 1st chapter
  19. TTB Song project

Alright, there is interest so... before we get to song selections (I love blues and jazz standards but I'm not talented enough to make really good jazz) How do we actually "do" this, as I've never tried. I'm thinking of using something on my phone like the android apps FourTracks Lite http://nomadicwhales.com/wordpress/category/fourtracks/ ULoops http://uloops.net/umc/index.php (My fishtanks are in the same room as my PC so recordings on my PC pick up a nice waterfall effect from the tanks ) Then starting with a "seed" track that we can all muck around with putting our parts over, then post the file back here (mp3's are tiny) then someone else puts their bit over etc etc... and just see where we end up. I can have a chat to Santi at class on Sunday, anyone here tried exchanging music tracks like that or have any recording program suggestions?
  20. Hey Aaron, While I'm not really sure what exact issues are involved here..... I do want to say that I've really appreciated the effort you put into the TTC forum. Thank you _/\_ I could try to teach how to remove a mod from a forum (It's just like a personal practice section mod, not like concierge which is a different group) But since I haven't been able to work out how to teach making a personal practice section... you might have some time to reconsider your decision. Just remember, nothing ever works out perfectly and the responsibility of what TTB is, and how people interact here, is shared by everyone who participates.
  21. My Sad Story

Go for it, Personally I'd delete the 1st post as a Forum Terms & Rules violation The 1st posts hits most of those, is objectionable, and I find reading that sort of crap about good people like MPG offensive.
  22. edit topic titles?

If you made the 1st post in a thread "edit" that 1st post, using "full editor" and you will have access to change the thread titles
