[pCount]=&search_app_filters[forums][pViews]=&&&content_title_only=1&search_term=Taoist+Philosophy&search_sort_by=relevence&search_filter_app[forums]=1"]Taoist Philosophy collected by Marbelhead Those of us who have been here for a bit will know of Marbleheads long running Taoist Philosophy series, which collect various classic passages. For a while now I've wanted to create an "index" of the posts here in contributed articles so they don't just get lost in the main discussion forum. The above is my 1st attempt using our search engine. I want to present them in some sort of "order" & I'm not too sure how yet. I might re-edit the topic titles to include the number, there is only <100 posts anyhow its a work in progress.... but nothing like the work that Marblehead has done in collecting these. I humbly thank him for sharing his collection with us 'bums. _/\_

I often like to look back, read old journals, and contemplate what has changed, what hasn't ...... and what's doing the contemplating It's more an "exercise" that I like to do "myself" but for the purpose of this thread I'd agree with matured physically and spiritually (and add that you are also more confident)

along the lines of "Who Am I?" - "What has changed since 2007?"

Indonesian Qigong Masters are more powerful than the Chinese

I'm also searching for a word that's commonly used to refer to preconceived judgments toward people or a person because of race or other personal characteristics...... We all know there are many practitioners, displaying a wide spectrum of skills (or lack thereof) Yet IME race isn't a contributing factor in developing skill. -
Had another read this morning and from what was described it seemed like a spontaneous movement practice.

I don't think so I'm not sure. I just don't read topics that don't catch my interest; unless they become really long threads, or they persistently bump to the top of the board. Then I might get curious and have a look.

I just wanted to use this post to say thank you to my teacher Santiago (Vajrasattva), Susan and Tao, and my fellow KAP students. My friend asked me to "do my chi gung stuff" on his shoulder and another asked me to do the same on his wrist. I was able to help relieve their pain. Thank you Santi, your example continues to inspire me. _/\_

Pretty much. But you also mentioned the teacher qualities. As opposed to assessing the teachers "technical proficiency" (that can be very difficult to do without previous MA's experience) I'd go with- 1. Which teacher do you want to spend time with? 2. Look at the students in the class. Do you want to look, move, and act like them? Basically will taking the class help become what you want to be? Will you look forward to spending time with the teacher, or just hate going to class and only do it because it's "the best art"? Regardless of the teachers level of skill, can he pass on that knowledge and improve his students skills?

for the advertorial try http://www.versaclimber.com/index.htm I've wanted one since the 90's but never enough to warrant the cost. But since I've finally experienced a downside to being overweight (back pain issues) and being overweight is now preventing me from doing what I like as well preventing my usual aerobic options for weight loss i.e. jogging. Also the last time I really got into jogging at 120kg I hurt my ankle. That was in my mid 20's and I then ballooned to 130kg before starting Tai Chi and adopting a healthier lifestyle. I could go swimming but I don't enjoy grinding out laps very often. It can be meditative, but it's just not me, I actually prefer that nice meditative zone you get into when jogging. So I'm seriously considering a versaclimber to just grind away the 10 kg I put on while injured and then the 10kg I put on before that just being slack because it wasn't worth the effort to stay at 100kg I'd also like to get my aerobic fitness and strength back to pre-injury levels, if not more. But even without all of that rehab work I would like to use a versaclimer for short, intense, interval training (which I use to do by skipping) I do have a weights bench I don't use anymore (although I did when I brought it many years ago for $60) as well as a cheap spin bike ~$500 and a good treadmill ~$2,000 that are my partners that are no longer used. So I'm wondering if anyone here has tried one of these before I drop $5,200 on a new coat rack ..........but I can help but wonder if I've wanted one for 20 years for a reason

Excellent stull, perhaps also reframe it back to him as a positive "I really enjoy it while I'm in it" cool "On the days I meditated, I would get angry more easily, agitated more quickly, and be generally more impatient on the day I do it" noticing changed behavior in daily life, more aware of actions - cool "VERY recently (as in, last time i meditated) and wished for the ability to give and receive love to specific people" changing "practice" spontaneously (or after research) to "work on" issues - very cool I use to think; I'm cool, I'm relaxed, I'm a Taoist, your actions don't make me angry..... when in really I was just repressing my anger and pretending I didn't care (I still do that quite a lot too ) I did a lot of loving kindness meditation that I feel has helped me connect more with my anger and feelings in general. I also find I do crave "quite time" to just get away from people for a break, especially at work. It can be quite difficult for me to accept that most people just like to sit and chat about anything, when I'd just rather stand there in silence.

For me I just got her to "sit facing me for 10 min" while I meditated. The biggest "effect" was just from a quick session with our 2 chairs facing each other. Nothing special required. I didn't have a "goal" as such, just paid attention to what was happening. For methods, I think most of mine come from KAP2 but just use what you know. As a "introduction" to the "weird topic" I like to play with various sensation of touching without actually physically touching. That's always fun as "naughty" spots are especially sensitive and it's an easy way to playful introduce something like this into lovemaking. Basically play with it and just have fun together. We usually end up giggling at each other well when I can convince her to "waste 10 min just siting around"
