  1. sexlessness in Japan / in marriage

Having started out with that, rather than "Yes! I've also read ..." might have avoided some confusion
  2. My favorite poem :)

  4. sexlessness in Japan / in marriage

I had one of the most enjoyable days with my partner recently. We cooked scones, watched a super movie called Next and then had a blast discussing it. Such a great day. But I didn't, what was the expression used recently.... that's right I didn't stick it in her. So no Sex = FAIL guess that's why Australia is batting 60% @ Percentage of People Having Sex Weekly by Country
  5. Townsville is fine, we are use to cut roads and food shortages around this time of year, although I've never seen supermarkets 1/2 empty before. Main roads reopening, so no real issues for us (unless there is a cyclone) But south east and central Queensland are pretty bad. Toowoomba got hit with flash floods http://www.abc.net.au/news/video/2011/01/10/3109884.htm and Brisbane is not good at all http://soulsolutions.com.au/QLDFlood2011/ that link has the 1974 flood maps too More pics http://www.themorningbulletin.com.au/photos/galleries/readers-brisbane-flood-pictures/#id=readers-brisbane-flood-pictures&num=12 and this is Suncorp Stadium

  8. What are you listening to?

A bit different Selected Sounds of Space This is a sampling of some of Professor Don Gurnett's favorite sounds of space. These sounds were recorded by University of Iowa instruments on a variety of spacecraft over the past 40 years and include audio samples provided to Terry Riley and the Kronos Quartet for their work Sun Rings. Some of them are quite bird like.

insert TOTPD(Ninja) ! That does seem like TTB p.s. why am I thinking about cookies? p.p.s. They are called biscuits! p.p.p.s I was given a cookie monster puppet as a child. When opening the wrapping paper all I could see were these huge eyes, apparently I screamed and threw the box across the room p.p.p.p.s He did have an opening in his mouth, so he got to eat his biscuits properly, unlike the one on TV. (where are all the other +1,000 posters ) {oh I love cauliflower, but my partner doesn't so I don't get to cook it} oh yeah Hijacking Threads - New Policy Under Consideration Your input welcomed
  10. Power balance bands

Power Balance seems to have helped the England Cricket team that's not cricket, cheats My friend has one. It may work for him, since it was recomended by another friend. Doubt it would work for me I had read the choice review before I saw one. I.e. they work the same way this feather does. Personally a touch too expensive for my tastes at Aus $30~$60 I recomend this one instead only $10 and fights cancer
  11. Robert Bruce - Call To Action!

Thank you for posting your appeal,I have enjoyed your books so it's much appreciated. I have also notified Sean who runs TTB All the best
  12. Journaling, Practice Log, etc

I think the usefulness of a journal comes from the mindfulness and examination required to write one, more so that the "written result" i.e. the difference between just thinking "that was a cool dream I should write that down" and the act of consciously recalling/remembering, writing down, and then reflecting on the dream. As devoid said It sort of seems to make you more "involved" in the dream I tend to use journals to work through stuff, I think it helps that I enjoy typing. Sometimes I type up pages of stuff only to feel .... resolved ? and just delete the entire thing. Other times I don't feel like writing much and am happy just to contemplate. The journals rarely make any "sense" to me when I read them latter either I even have some old hand written dream journals that are just unreadable from when I use to write stuff at night by moonlight. I have bad handwriting and can't spell so eventually I got tired of trying to work out what I wrote and just started typing them
  13. Activate Outbox folder please

Is that just a created folder named "outbox" ? I though the PM system ran more like the threads on the board i.e. no outbox Go into the "thread" of your PM's and on the left hand side you can see (or the time when the message was read ) p.s. Happy New Year G, I'm still enjoying that tea you sent me _/\_
  14. Seasonal Qigong

While I don't do it a lot I was taught this one for winter, although my Si Tai Tai Gung trained it everyday. Yuerng Sun Gung (Nourish the Body Qigong)
  15. The Taoist Way of Manifestation

I've been wondering how things have developed.
  16. Currently the only "members only" area of TTB is the personal practice section (and the pit )
  17. self defence skills through tai chi

I think the exceptions tend to turn up in martial arts classes Women are generally more familiar with confrontations where they are not physically the strongest (ask any girl who liked to "play rough" with older brothers) I would say that generally women do much better than men at kung fu as they do not attempt to use strength against strength. while only a minor confrontation (we are not talking life and death knife fights here) a grandmother in our class recently reported being able to "handle" an aggressive teenager when he pushed her. She has practiced Tai Chi for years, form only. So a stereotypical frail old granny (except that she moves very well with excellent balance) did ok from just form practice. But I do feel to get "self defense" you need - correct mental skills - to evaluate and handle the situation pre/during/post fight. 2 person practice - to be use to touching an opponent and feeling how they respond.
  18. Forum bug

Which browser are you using? I often get that error using the old version of IE we use at work.
  19. if people like this sort of stuff... of course they are going to be motivated to do more KAP activities. Nothing wrong with that. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who tries to share their path on TTB

  22. How to find a Teacher?

That's what happened to me. And I though I was just lucky I would say itโ€™s important not to rush to the end of the journey or to be overly focused on the goal. Remember the story of Ancestor Lu it took him a LONG time to find a teacher. http://www.poetry-chaikhana.com/L/LuTungPin/index.htm
  23. Chuang Tzu Skits

    +20 love it
  24. How to find a Teacher?

It seems to be like that in many places. I would try to get in touch with like minded people, sometimes there are notices at community halls and bookshops. Then go to a few gatherings etc A teacher might actually find you Since you enjoyed the atmosphere then that sounds like a great plan to me. I spent a few years with Buddhist meditation groups, always enjoyed the group meditations. Yes I think so. It doesn't usually happen overnight but if you sincerely seek a teacher, over time you will find one.
