Orb pic, spirit pic, and something else you tell me...
Mal replied to goonis38's topic in General Discussion
I went to picked one of the photo's and copied the direct link url http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g449/goonis38/IMG_0739.jpg Then if we put i.e. [img*]http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g449/goonis38/IMG_0739.jpg[/img*] removing the astrisks (they are only there so that you can "see" the comands) gives alternativly copy the direct link url, click the "Insert Image" icon (the icon is a pic of a tree) and past in the url { Cool orbs too } -
Congradulations Jane, nice looking site too www.possessingme.com I tend to get my books through http://www.bookdepository.co.uk (free postage and different regulations in the UK makes books a fair bit cheaper for me than Amazon) So I've asked customer service if they are able to get your book.

Well after 7 pages I'm just happy that Hu Xuezhi didn't use "straw dog" in his translation for Revealing the Tao Te Ching

My favourite thread Currently I'm brushing my teeth with an electric toothbrush and just using hemp soap. Seems to work quite well, no real issues except I need to have a look at adding some sort of whitening program eventually. I gave up on the Listerine whitening pre-rinse mouthwash, didn't use it regually and it didn't seem to make any difference.

Amazon link Anyone here read this? I like Wile's work and this looks like an interesting book with Xmas coming up
-
Totally agree. I was looking Art of the Bedchamber up for another thread when I noticed that Wile had published this in 2010. Thanks Franklin. I think the original was from the 80's so that might be the one you have. I've no idea if there are any real changes in this revised edition. The preview didn't say "new forward" or anything like that, so I'd guess it's a reprinting.

Couple practices are taught in KAP 2, highly recomended as for books I really like Art of the Bedchamber: The Chinese Sexual Yoga Classics Including Women's Solo Meditation Texts - Wile It's a collection of classic Chinese texts on Taoist esoteric sexual practice. I particularly like it as you can see the goals (health, immortality etc) change over time. That helps make sense of why there are different practice methods out there.

Underline mine.

Strike through mine, as not everyone subscribes to that view. Retention, IMHO needs to be just a part of an entire balanced system. As a "focus" it seem to usually do more harm than good. Check out http://www.alchemicaltaoism.com/ especially the Healing Love section. It's Trunk's site (a member here) that has a lot of information on this topic.

Yes, perhaps one will wander past and enlighten us

to macgyver or not to macgyver that is the question.

I enjoyed Macgyver in space AKA SG-1. He got enlightened (or was that just his buddies) and started talking like a old sage too -
hehe I'm just teasing Tai Chi certainly lays claim to the deep Taoist association. But with most of the well known forms being at most 100~200 years old it's quite possible that association is only a relatively modern thing (like the internal external distinction) {cool I managed to get both quote box "styles" in the one post, wonder how that happened }

Yo, what books of the tao would you recommend for a beginner?
Mal replied to Trickster_Crow's topic in Group Studies
You would almost have to go with his Te of Piglet Good stuff in here too Tao 101 - If you could recommend only ONE book
