Mal replied to Stigweard's topic in General Discussion
As much as I dislike pinned topics... I've pinned this one (at least for a little while ) -
I really enjoyed Christopher McDougall Born to Run The link is to an interview... and yes I now own some 5 fingers which I use for martial arts, great shoes.

Cool, thanks. I've changed the logon too, you'll probably get an automatic email about that.

Name changed, you'll need a sig to link people to your website now as searching for "Gerard" won't find it anymore p.s. I always wondered if durkhrod chogori had a meaning

I like to reality check light switches, and I've also though "oh yes, I forgot that one is broken" and one day I really hope a reality check fails when I'm actually awake

but the media insert does seem to be out at the moment...... Edit: I did have an issue with the media inserted above but I had a typo in the url so I went and riped the above out of a thread where it was already embeded. All looks good now, perhaps a browser glitch?

VS Ramachandran: The neurons that shaped civilization
Mal replied to sean's topic in General Discussion
I guess one thing I found quite intriguing in this was that some of the same neurons activated when performing a task, are also activated watching someone else perform that task. That adds an interesting perspective to things like martial arts (and many meditation practices) that traditionally need to be taught in person. -
The Essential Qigong Training Course Expensive, but totally worth it (although mine was a gift from my partner) as I always seem to be referencing different bits and pieces out of Ken's course.

And after 15 pages of discussion about fake or real photo's we hit Godwin's law "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1" I think, pages ago, someone asked why publish these photo's, I feel kunlun subscribes to the marketing philosophy of any publicity = good publicity .... which I find a shame as, for me, that detracts from a good practice.

I'm sure most people will have forgotten in a few years, so yes. (But I do wonder how she would fit into this theory Most Events that Happen to us do not Matter! An amazing talk by TED
