SonOfTheGods replied to SonOfTheGods's topic in The Rabbit Hole
snopes says "probably false", but they are not positive that it is fake. the story's origin was from here: https://web.archive.org/web/20040618175439/http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_967364.html?menu=news.quirkies Man divorces and sues wife over ugly past A Chinese man has divorced and sued his wife for ÂŁ55,000 after discovering she'd had plastic surgery before they met. Jian Feng, 38, was said to have been "horrified" when she gave birth to an ugly baby daughter. He suspected her of having an affair. His wife then confessed to having plastic surgery costing ÂŁ70,000 in South Korea before they met and showed him a picture of how she used to look. He filed for divorce two years after marrying her following a whirlwind romance. The Heilongjiang Morning Post said Jian successfully sued for deceit. If it is on video, it can be altered/enhanced. Go to youtube and watch the blue/screen videos. Everything you think is reality is faked via CGI. If I don't witness it personally with my own two eyes, I refuse to believe it. Too many good liars and fakers these days -

Lucid Stead: A Transparent Cabin Built of Wood and Mirrors
SonOfTheGods posted a topic in The Rabbit Hole
Part architectural intervention and part optical illusion, Lucid Stead is a recently unveiled installation by artist Phillip K Smith III in Joshua Tree, California. The artist modified an existing 70-year-old homesteader shack by introducing mirrors to create the illusion of transparency, as the structure now takes on the lighting characteristics of anything around it. LED lighting and other custom electronic components were further installed within the building’s interior to illuminate from the interior at night. Smith says of the installation, “Lucid Stead is about tapping into the quiet and the pace of change of the desert. When you slow down and align yourself with the desert, the project begins to unfold before you. It reveals that it is about light and shadow, reflected light, projected light, and change.” You can see more photos over at Royale Projects. All photos courtesy Royale Projects. Do you believe in- and when do you think the actual shift will happen?
SonOfTheGods replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
The Shift & Armageddon are personal and unique to each person. The Shift is when one puts the work in to become a LUX conduit. Armageddon for that person is when that LUX conduit goes dim, and the path starts over again. Anything else would be "unfair" - why? if I have researched and meditated for 40 years, practicing hours daily, and someone else never even had an interest- rather, they play with their Iphone and others are gangbanging their way down the ladder. They will suddenly "shift" the sametime I do? That would mean the Universal Consciousness is asleep at the wheel. -
Not sure if full lotus equals 4x the time spent in meditation. However, I have been utilizing full lotus for several decades. I sit in that asana for many hours daily, reading, computer work etc. I have taken naps in that position, as it has become very comfortable and natural. I am a powerlifter and my thighs are 30 inches around of muscle, and I can get into that posture without ever moving my hands out of my pockets. if you try hard enough, it is worth the time and effort put into it. My Kundalini (the real deal, not the fake kundalini going around these days) became active in that position, and many insights became apparent to me that many others were taught by teachers and payed big buck$ to learn.

'Earliest shrine' uncovered at Buddha's birthplace
SonOfTheGods posted a topic in General Discussion
The remains lay buried beneath the present day Maya Devi Temple Archaeologists digging at Buddha's birthplace have uncovered remains of the "earliest ever Buddhist shrine". They unearthed a 6th Century BC timber structure buried within the Maya Devi Temple at Lumbini in Nepal. The shrine appears to have housed a tree. This links to the Buddha nativity story - his mother gave birth to him while holding on to a tree branch. Its discovery may settle the dispute over the birth date of the Buddha, the team reports in the journal Antiquity. Radiocarbon Every year thousands of Buddhists make a holy pilgrimage to Lumbini - long identified as the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, who became the Buddha. Yet despite the many texts chronicling his life and teachings, it is still uncertain when he lived. Estimates for his birth stretch as far back as 623 BC, but many scholars believed 390-340 BC a more realistic timeframe. Until now, the earliest evidence of Buddhist structures at Lumbini dated no earlier than the 3rd Century BC, in the era of the emperor Ashoka. To investigate, archaeologists began excavating at the heart of the temple - alongside meditating monks, nuns and pilgrims. They unearthed a wooden structure with a central void which had no roof. Brick temples built later above the timber were also arranged around this central space. To date the buildings, fragments of charcoal and grains of sand were tested using a combination of radiocarbon and optically stimulated luminescence techniques. "Now, for the first time, we have an archaeological sequence at Lumbini that shows a building there as early as the 6th century BC," said archaeologist Prof Robin Coningham of Durham University, who co-led the international team, supported by the National Geographic Society. The holy site remained open for meditation while archaeologists excavated "This is the earliest evidence of a Buddhist shrine anywhere in the world. "It sheds light on a very long debate, which has led to differences in teachings and traditions of Buddhism. "The narrative of Lumbini's establishment as a pilgrimage site under Ashokan patronage must be modified since it is clear that the site had already undergone embellishment for centuries." The dig also detected signs of ancient tree roots in the wooden building's central void - suggesting it was a tree shrine. Tradition records that Queen Maya Devi gave birth to the Buddha while grasping the branch of a tree within the Lumbini Garden. The discovery could aid conservation efforts at the holy site - which has been neglected despite its Unesco World Heritage status. "These discoveries are very important to better understand the birthplace of the Buddha," said Ram Kumar Shrestha, Nepal's minister of culture, tourism and civil aviation. "The government of Nepal will spare no effort to preserve this significant site." Archaeologists hope their discovery will aid conservation efforts at the site http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-25088960 -

Experiencing awe increases belief in the supernatural
SonOfTheGods posted a topic in The Rabbit Hole
Association for Psychological Science Awe-inspiring moments — like the sight of the Grand Canyon or the Aurora Borealis — might increase our tendency to believe in God and the supernatural, according to new research. The new findings — published in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science — suggest that awe-inspiring sights increase our motivation to make sense of the world around us, and may underlie a trigger of belief in the supernatural. "Many historical accounts of religious epiphanies and revelations seem to involve the experience of being awe-struck by the beauty, strength or size of a divine being, and these experiences change the way people understand and think about the world", says psychological scientist Piercarlo Valdesolo of Claremont McKenna College. "We wanted to test the exact opposite prediction: It's not that the presence of the supernatural elicits awe, it's that awe elicits the perception of the presence of the supernatural." Valdesolo and his colleague Jesse Graham of the University of Southern California tested this prediction by having participants watch awe-inspiring scenes from BBC's Planet Earth documentary series or neutral video clips from a news interview. Afterward, the participants were asked how much awe they felt while watching the video, and whether they believed that worldly events unfold according to some god's or other non-human entity's plan. Overall, participants who had watched the awe-inspiring video tended to believe more in supernatural control, and were more likely to believe in God when compared with the news-watching group. This effect held even when awe-inspiring but impossible scenes, such as a massive waterfall through city streets, were presented. Another study showed that participants who watched the awe-inspiring clips became increasingly intolerant of uncertainty. This particular mindset — a discomfort with uncertainty — may explain why feelings of awe produce a greater belief in the supernatural. "The irony in this is that gazing upon things that we know to be formed by natural causes, such as the jaw-dropping expanse of the Grand Canyon, pushes us to explain them as the product of supernatural causes," Valdesolo notes. But the researchers point out that these data could also shed light on why certain individuals seek to explain the world through secular and scientific means: The experience of awe may simply motivate us to search for explanations, no matter what kinds of explanations they are. This might be why, in another experiment, participants who watched the awe-inspiring video showed greater discomfort and were more likely to believe a random string of numbers was designed by a human hand. Based on these preliminary findings, Valdesolo and Graham are now looking at factors that modulate the effect of awe on belief in the supernatural. For example, they are testing whether adopting submissive body postures, which make us feel less powerful, might dispose us to experiences of awe. Such a link could perhaps explain the presence of such postures in religious practice, such as kneeling, bowing, and gazing up. "The more submissive we act, the more awe we might feel, and perhaps the stronger our beliefs become," says Valdesolo. http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2013-11/afps-eai112213.php -

While not common, faking one’s death is not new to the world. We’ve seen it in literature with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, on TV with shows like 24 and in real life. This list looks at ten men who committed pseudocide, pulled a Reggie Perrin, or, in other words, faked their death for one reason or another. This list is in no particular order. 10John Darwin John and Anne Darwin, a couple who lived beyond their means, had acquired debt of tens of thousands of pounds. They decided to escape their debt by faking John’s death and collecting the insurance money. On March 12, 2002, John left in his canoe and disappeared. A large search ensued and, on March 22, 2002, John’s wrecked canoe was found. In February, 2003, he was declared legally dead, allowing his wife to cash in on the insurance policy and pay off their debt. This left enough money to start a new life that, eventually, took them to Panama. On December 1, 2007, John turned himself in to the police, claiming to have no memory of what happened and believing he was a missing person. The police had started looking into his disappearance three months before he turned himself in, and the ruse was uncovered when it was proven he had been with Anne the whole time. 9Ken Kesey Ken Kesey was an American author best known for his book, “One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” He joined the CIA’s experimental program on the effects of LSD. After publishing his book, he continued using drugs, eventually getting involved with Timothy Leary. In 1965, Ken was arrested for possession of marijuana. This led to the idea of escaping jail time by faking his death. Ken, with the help of his merry pranksters left his truck on a cliff near Eureka with an elaborate suicide note. His friends then smuggled him to Mexico where he remained for eight months. On his return to the United States, he was arrested and sent to jail for five months. 8Lord Timothy Dexter Timothy Dexter was a self-proclaimed Lord, born in Massachusetts in 1748. He was a prime example of a self-made man, having little to no education and accomplishing so much. He became an author, publishing his book with no punctuation and horrible spelling. Originally, he had to give it away, but it immediately became popular and went to the eighth edition printing. His second book included an extra thirteen pages of punctuation, with a note saying, “place it as you please.” Timothy decided he wanted to know what people would say about him if he were dead, so he faked his own death and made plans for a funeral. Three thousand people attended the wake and, because his own wife didn’t cry for him, he decided not to reveal himself. Later, he caned his wife for not showing sympathy and crying. He officially died on October 26, 1806. 7Bennie Wint Bennie Wint led a troubled life, deeply into drugs and involved with a South Carolina drug ring. He decided he needed to start a new and better life. He felt the only way he could do this was if everyone thought he was dead. While on vacation with his fiancée, in September, 1989, he swam out past the breakers at Daytona Beach and disappeared. He left behind his fiancée and a four-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. Bennie made a new life in North Carolina, under the name of Bill Sweet. He acquired a common-law wife and had a son. Neither knew anything about his identity until he was stopped for a traffic violation, in January, 2009. His fingerprints came back as belonging to a dead man, so he came clean and told his story.

Top 10 People Who Faked Their Own Deaths
SonOfTheGods replied to SonOfTheGods's topic in The Rabbit Hole
6John Stonehouse John Stonehouse was a British politician who got in over his head during his business affairs. He started cooking the books and got wind that the Department of Trade and Industry was looking into his affairs. He started moving money and set up a new identity as Joseph Markham. On November 20, 1974, he faked his own suicide by leaving a pile of clothes on a beach, making it appear that he drowned. He was, instead, on his way to Australia to make a new life with his mistress. John was caught in Australia by an astute banker who caught on to the fact that he was moving money under more than one name. Police first thought he was the fugitive, Lord Lucan, who, two weeks before Stonehouse, was believed to have faked his own death as well. John was identified by a photo of himself on a list of the recently deceased and was arrested on December 24, 1974. 5Alexander “Ace” Baker Ace Baker is an American composer and keyboardist. He played with the Supremes, Iron Butterfly and Reo Speedwagon. Ace is also a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. His theory is based on the Hutchison effect, and claims that the planes in the video were faked. Ace was doing a radio program, The Real Deal, with host Jim Feltzer, with other members of the 9/11 truth movement when Ace felt that he was receiving unfair treatment. He then made references to his deceased parents and asked for forgiveness from his wife and children. Shortly after, he left the phone line and gun shots were heard. Ace later called it performance art. 4Friedrich Gulda Friedrich Gulda was an Austrian pianist in both classical and jazz fields. Gulda is most famous for his Beethoven interpretations, though Mozart was his idol. Gulda had a strong dislike of authorities, and declined the honor of receiving the Beethoven Ring for his performance. Gulda is perceived as one of the twentieth century’s outstanding pianists. His unorthodox styles of mixing jazz and classical earned him the nickname of “terrorist pianist”. Cementing his nickname, Gulda faked his death in 1999, and reigned as enfant terrible among pianists. Gulda also expressed a wish to die on his hero, Mozart’s, birthday. On January 27, 2000, he did just that. 3Philip Sessarago Philip Sessarago was a military man in The Royal Artillery with aspirations of joining the SAS. He failed to be accepted twice by the SAS. He saw himself as a James Bond type and was disappointed not to be a part of the SAS. In 1993, he faked his death by claiming to detonate a landmine in Bosnia. He changed his name to Tom Carew and a penned the book, Jihad! The book was on its way to being a best seller after being serialized in the New York Times. Jihad! was released in paperback the day before the 9/11 attacks. The book’s timing was perfect as he claimed to be an expert on the tactics used by the terrorists, which led to many interviews. In a 2001 interview his deception came to light when he was recognized by his children. 2Arthur Bennett Arthur Bennett was a Marine Staff Sergeant. He was accused of sexual assault charges in 1994, and allowed to go free. On February 3, 1994, the trailer he was living in was found burned to the ground with a badly charred body inside. The body was believed to be Arthur’s and was cremated and buried with full military honors. Arthur assumed the name of Joe Benson and, with the help of his family, moved to Hurricane, Utah. To cover his identity he dyed his hair red and wore blue contacts over his brown eyes. Arthur was found out when he was accused of molesting his daughters and a neighborhood child. Fingerprints proved he was really Arthur Bennett. He was arrested October 31, 1997, and pled guilty in 1998. He still had a court martial to deal with when he hung himself in his cell, on July 12, 1999. The body found in his trailer has never been identified, and there is no way to identify it as it was cremated. 1Jenaro Jimenez Hernandez Jenaro Hernandez went out spear fishing early on April 13, 2008. When he didn’t return home, his wife reported him missing. The Civil Guard found his car and belongings, but his scuba gear and fishing stuff was missing. The only thing they found was his flipper. Jenaro was heavily in debt, which led police to suspect he had faked his death. The family didn’t believe he would do that, as he had a young child at home and another that was due soon. He was found in South America and was extradited back to Spain and arrested. BonusLord Lucan Richard Bingham, the seventh Earl of Lucan, on the night of November 7, 1974, killed the family nanny, Sandra Rivett, and tried to kill his wife. She fled for safety and Lord Lucan fled to several friends before arriving at a friend’s house, 42 miles away. Friends and relatives believed he was innocent and jumped to help him, while police were being slow on the uptake. The car he was driving was found on the coast of Newhaven and there was no sign of Lord Lucan. Some friends believe he committed suicide due to his grief over murdering the nanny, by mistake, instead of his wife. Others believe he disappeared and is innocent and alive to this day. Sightings have been reported in South Africa and New Zealand. http://listverse.com/2010/11/08/top-10-people-who-faked-their-deaths/ -
The Art and Practice of Astral Projection Paperback by Ophiel is a classic book. The multi-coloured front picture is the authors impression of what I have stated prior. I have seen the pattern several times, but haven't seen it in years. It may be initiatory, or I have just acclimated to it and haven't noticed it consciously anymore. In my observation a person doesn't really project anything but their consciousness/awareness (not an actual astral body) to another higher frequency realm. The pattern is the molecular 3D structure exit/entrance of the brain/optic nerve etc.,
