Off topic derail, MPGs tips of saving money; now Prosperity and how to make money
Urpflanze replied to skydog's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Amen! The words of gold. -
My point is - why do I have to suffer because people are going crazy? I don't own a car. I don't support any ideology. I don't harbour any grandeur complex. I don't dream of any peace doves triumphing in the sky after all the ivory smoke has vanquished. All I desire is to be in my ignorant little shell that I work hard for every single day. Dogs are fighting - perfectly fine with me, but why are the bastards trampling on my kitchen garden?

Sad, of course, but does it help? I have to cut off on my milk because the tobacco has gone costly. Tomorrow, if the milk goes costly, where do I cut off?

Let's have an all-out war; I'm fed up of this monotonous, safe and completely ridiculous half-play. It's better to go bum in a single night than to see your pocket unravel thread by thread.

if reincarnation is real do certain races require more

That's a very valid point-of-view. Nature certainly loves to deal cards this way. -

I don't think Karma is as simple as if I do good, then add plus to my account, and if bad, then negative. That's book-keeping, not karma-keeping. I think if Karma can be defined as Y where Y = f(X), then X certainly will include the "choices" that you have made in life. The point is, life ceases if we stop making choices, no matter how simple and shallow they seem. Every day we sift through a pile of choices, consious or unconscious. And these choices create ripples - in our life, in the life of the affectee of the choice, in the society where the choice was made, and so on - it's like a wave that expanses when you throw a stone in a pond. The center of that wave is your choice, but it ripples through the water affecting everything. So, I think the best thing that we can do about our Karma is to make Awared Choices. Bad, or good - hardly matter, but we should be able to forsee to a certain degree how this choice can affect lives in different, probable ways (is it a coincidence that this word rhymes with waves?) and accept/acknowledge responsibility for it with all our rational and moral might. Once that ripple of awareness is created, once we have charged it with a specific intent or responsibility, a cosmic siren attaches to it to that signals a synchronicity-bound door of exit to the about-to-get affected innocent lives. That's why they say in magic - be very specific about what you desire. Vague is the folly of the Fool. Bad Karma is unresponsible, vague and blind choices. Like headless chickens. -

If I am allowed to add my share of lunacy to the mix, consider this: What if we live on the inner surface of an infinite hollow spherical ball, the center of which is where hang the shadows of the sun and the moon? What if to land on the actual moon, we have to not soar up but... dig a deep tunnel?

European and Asian languages have one mother tongue
Urpflanze replied to Apech's topic in The Rabbit Hole
If you are really interested in languages, no site offers deeper penetration in the past and in the future than this: http://forgottenlanguages-full.forgottenlanguages.org/ And if you are looking for a Dan Brown esque plot, this thread might help you: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread958299/pg1 -

My point is start out naked. That's how nature intended it. What's the point of life if you are content with the fruits of others? Without a context - that comes from a journey - you may not be able to digest them even.
-
Yes, you are right. We gain a new perception. And some methods... BTW you do realize how that particular sentiment can be interpreted by a slacker?
-
I think it would be much beneficial to assume otherwise. Begin empty, broken and full of longing. "There is something missing" - that's how almost all the odysseys generally start. If you already have the artifacts that you desire, there is no journey, and when there is no journey, there is no revealation of your true character. In only the moments of abject desperation and darkness, we come to see who we really are.

Pleasure of the Self Vs Discipline of the Self
Urpflanze posted a topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
I am sorry if the thread may not fit entirely within the framework of this forum, but to my knowledge, I couldn't find a better place. On one side, we have Austin Osman Spare - a major influence in Chaos Magick, who believed that there is no path more natural to the "goal" than to indulge in the pleasure of the self. One has to merge in the flesh. Manifesting desires on cryptic sigils and chrging them with masturbation and similar grotesque techniques. On the other side, we have Taoism, the core tenets of which are founded on the belief that one cannot reach the "goal" unless he learns to discipline the self. One has to transcend the flesh I really don't know how to fit these two different belief-systems into a consistent whole. -
The 4 Elements and Quintessence
Urpflanze replied to JustARandomPanda's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
I would like to know what is the difference between polarity and duality? I once had a Straneglove-ian dream that loosely hinted that one can destroy almost anything in this world by shooting against its primary salt. And the best armour of defense is to keep your opposite salt in front. I don't really know what that means... but I guess that somehow it made sense to speak of it here. -
Not that difficult to pretend, I guess.

Very painstakingly and patiently, you plant the seeds of a muse in your art - from your experiences, from your surroundings, from your jaded reading of your life-in-making, from the stars you seek, from the pebbles you found, from the storm that threatens the dim-litted wick burning inside you, from the knowledge that has betrayed you, from the context, from the subtext, from intuition, from deductions, and so on. It's quite a laborious process. And if you do this thing truthfully, you experience two contradictory feelings - 1) unease/overwhelm, because there's just so much to ingest, and so much to organize, and so many overlaps, and so many conflicts, and so many choices... the chances to screw things compound to nightmarish proportions. 2) exhilaration/joy, because the seeds have begun to sprout unique textures within you, the colors and richness of which gleam through the cracks of your ignorance. And they are beautiful shades, such you've never seen before. You still can't paint a complete picture with those textures because part of you still can't interpret them clearly, but yes, they do serve as a pointer of where not to go. So, with these two honest but contradictory feelings, you go into your art and just let yourself be. The labour is not to appear in your art, it's just a process by which you arrive at the zone. And once you step in the zone, all multiple perspectives converge into one moment. And in that moment, there are no eyes and there are no forms; there is no wind and there are no trees. There is just the blowing.

All I can say about myself is that I'm a well-intentioned but digressive traveler. Hope to sight new peacocks and foliages in your forest, bums!

Thanks for all the wise words. I will definitely equip myself with the rules before starting out on the path.
