  1. Inspired by suninmyeyes mystical poetry thread and Everyone post some favorite quotes! I have started this thread: I love thoughtfull stories that can in my humble opinion sometimes give us real insight, understanding and even empower us. This is one I read in an Osho book years ago and it always stayed with me. I am writing it from memory as I cannot find it on the net. Sorry if your heard it before, hopefully another Bum will offer one that you have not! ∞ There was a little boy in India who was always late for school and had been in trouble with his teachers for being late many times. One particular day when he was late again his teachers said to him that his lateness was unacceptable and they informed him that if he was late again he would be expelled. The boy new that if he was expelled his mother and father would be very annoyed and upset and that he would not be able to go to college and get a good job and be able help take care of his family. The next day he was determined to get to school and he got up very early to leave himself lots of time for the long walk. Unfortunately that morning the monsoon started and the rain poured down and the roads and paths were wet and slippery and every time he took a step forward he slipped two back. Eventually he arrived at school but he was late. The teacher immediatly took him aside and chastised him and informed him he was now expelled. But the boy passionately defended himself saying how he had got up early and walked in the monsoon and slipped two steps back with every one step forward. The teacher however was having none of it and said how did you get to school then? The boy said I walked backwards.
  2. Sonnet of Death

Hi T.S I would echo BaguaKicksAss great advice and be gentle with yourself, do some grounding and understand this is a moment that will pass. Its great your going to get professional help with this too. Easy to say this for me and I know I cannot understand where you are right now but the fact that this is coming to the surface and out is good thing imho and maybe view it that way. Sounds like your purging yourself of some very negative stuff and just go through with it, let nature take it's course and I am sure you will come out the other side better off with out all this inside you. Keep grounded, stay strong and let it all out and then smile and wave goodbye to it all. All my very best, ∞
  3. Is love all there is?

When a person truly loves everything for what it is, as it is uncondionally without wanting to change anything. He sees everything as it truly is. He sees the reality of everything as it is. The only reality that is left to such a person, is his own acceptance, his unconditional love. Wrote this along time ago don't think anyones ever seen it. Is its logic undeniable? Feel free to pull it to bits...

Sorry one more not quite mystical: :-) Bums Breathing to their tums Earthly eyes with celestial ties Sometimes egos throwing pies Black and white is what they mix Sharing knowledge and their tricks All in all they span the globe The gap between thoughts is there abode.
  5. mystical poetry thread

This will be my last, sorry if that is too many... Inspired by the following quotes and our predicament: In the beginning was the word and the word was with god, and the word was god. - genesis What we think we become - Buddha Words Words... Words... Words... Words... Absurds.... Absurds.... Absurds.... Talking to ourselves as soon as we wake we describe our world, a world that's fake. I am thin, I am fat, I am this, I am that, I am happy, I am sad, you and I are fucking mad! But mad is just another word, can you see it, can you see the absurd? Words weaving worlds, we dance in this trance, laughing, crying, living, dying, coming and going, toing and frowing. We are lost in this cycle of infinite diction constantly babbling this world of fiction. Spewing definitions over each other, tearing down walls and then building another. Can we change this world of absurds were in? Can we change who we are with a new definition?

Soup Were all living in this world of feeling, dicing, slicing, chopping and peeling. Swmming in a soup of thought and emotion. And the way we move adds to the motion. All are ingredients for the world to savour. As well as the chefs adding to the flavour. In this together bobbing up and down. The carrots, the peas, the white, black and brown. Some people complain because their soup tastes sour But at the end of the day it's us who have the power. Sprinkle some compassion in to the mix or some love and understanding for a flavour fix. We taste this soup and then add to the flavour it's our world and it could be something to savour. So the next time your chopping, grating and peeling remember your the chef adding to the feeling.
  7. mystical poetry thread

I've been looking at me and seeing you with my minds eye. Its nice in here, I see clearly, only few fluffy clouds clutter my inner sky. I observe myself and know we are all the same, floating in this soup of thought and feeling and playing this same game. In worlds of words is where we play and the world we are in depends on what we say. With scripts delivered to us by our peers this madness has been going on for years and years. We wander lost and found in these labyrinths of fiction, coralled by seemingly concrete walls of diction. Our language of love or our language of hate creates our state and defines our fate. Talking to ourselves as soon as we wake we describe our worlds, worlds that are fake.
  8. mystical poetry thread

The body feels. The mind thinks The heart loves Who cares?
  9. mystical poetry thread

In a dream many breaths ago a baby born from a blue ethereal woman danced and announced to me: "If you see me smiling it's because I am happy ever after. If you see me crying it will only be with laughter."
  10. SFQ middle column visualization

I am no expert but maybe keep your awareness in your body and don't visualise but imagine / feel it. Chunyi Lin says some people have trouble with the visualising and not to worry to much. Maybe practice will make perfect but I would not beat your self up and worry, that will not help focus on the practice and maybe it will come later... Hopefully some other bum can help you some more. Best of luck.
  11. Flowing with the Tao - how can you be sure?

There are no roads to here... I think this answers your question, I hope. One of my favourite quotes. “All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. ... Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has a heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.” ― Carlos Castaneda, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge or “For me there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length--and there I travel looking, looking breathlessly.” – ― Carlos Castaneda, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge, The Original Teachings in a Deluxe 30th Anniversary Edition "The obstacle is the path" – Buddha, i beleive? Maybe when are hearts are big enough all paths have hearts! Maybe then there will be no paths! All my best ∞
  12. Is love all there is?

Various Wise folk have said that all there is is love but I don't beleive it is the kind of love that we humans can generally understand. I think it amounts to pure unconditional acceptance of us now totally and what else can there be when we go beyond the minds illusory duality accept acceptance of the ALL. The minds chatter is always judgeing this or that and attempting to be this or not that and this is the kind of conditional 'love' we generally understand, we love this because it's not that etc... Yin is better than yang vice verser. The great beings who have gone beyond mind into Tao had to totally unconditionally accept or 'love' all aspects of their duality, their yin and yang energies. They must have loved everything because if they wanted to be this over that they would not be in Tao. So if everything is 'in love' all we do is loving?! That makes sense to me hope it was not long winded? I have to commend your attitude I generally accept, then rage alittle although I do understand that I am somehow responsible and that I wanted what ever I got on some level! I sincerly feel everything happens for a reason and we consciously and unconcious bring things into our lives and intend things to happen and these happenings reflect our beliefs and the beliefs are like channels for our intention. Maybe your computer theft was an act of self love because this is what you belived you deserved... I don't know what you felt/thought you deserved but it could be you wanted a better computer? or no heavy electromagnatic fields in your life ie. no computer? The possibilities could be infinite and you have a far better understanding than me. Its good to talk (type). Many thanks for the response, peace ∞
  13. Dreams, ambitons, goals?

Interesting thread and good to look back at who I was and am and will be... My dream as a young boy say 12ish was to be fully enlightened and to have full knowledge of myself and reality and to choose the moment of my death and just leave. I guess I kind of wanted total power/knowledge and no fear. Had a pretty good crack at it when I was 21 energetically (Bliss, forehead cracked open and had no body just conciousness) but came to a kind of dead end on my knowledge as it was forced and not a balanced holistic experience. I kind of realised I had to get a job take care of myself (rent etc.. ) and enter the system fully or join a spiritual institution which was not for me as I like my freedom of choice. My ultimate dreams are the same although I have taken detours and gone in other directions seemingly to push back the world which demands so much (so it seems) and changed my understanding of those goals. These ultimate dreams have become more important than ever now I have young children. As I want to be the best dad I can and that means being honest to my heart and its dreams. If I can give them anything it would be love, wisdom (qi gong / greater conciousness) and understanding (compassion), if I don't cultivate these how can I give them. Obviously I will also show them to the best of my aility how to navigate the world too. I have other dreams too but these are for the practicalities of life.
  14. Dream Work: Cultivation in the Dream State

Why do it indeed, why do anything? For me it is another part of my being I wish to explore with a view to maybe understand my greater reality. I may one day get bored of it or it may open my mind up to new knowledge and understanding which will alllow me to appreciate and accept myself and others more. Either way if I have lucid dreams I may as well do something with the time.
  15. I always say beliefs are choices not truths. And Louise Hay says beliefs are just thoughts we think all the time. Is it not possible that one could have 'understandings' other than beliefs based on real experienced truths obviously this is subjective unless there was no subject and object :-) This is I only a thought that I have thought a few times :-)
  16. Dream Work: Cultivation in the Dream State

In my view it does not matter how you enter the lucid dreamstate via sleep or hypnosis or active imagination or visualisation or indeed drugs. I think it is the same state. And from my understanding is the landscape of the ethetic body(?) just as earth is the landscape of our physical. Again from what I have read I understand that this vibrates at a higher rate to the physical. And to enter this dreamscape fully we have to leave awareness of our physical body behind. To conciously do this we need energy to vibrate higher, we need concious attention. Jung apparently used to let himself fall into dreams fully concious from waking conciousness. I managed to do this for a while years ago by being as Silent Thunder says lucid in my waking hours. I scared my self shitless though, as in dreams you feel the world and I was not emotionally very balanced at the time. I think it's a good way to experience yourself. Other people in dreamstates also contact spirit guides as Jung and Edwin Steinbrecher did. Would be interested to here others experiences. Edwin saw archetypes as energies and guides as seperate individual being like us. Not sure what you mean by 'dream science'
  17. Dream Work: Cultivation in the Dream State

Thanks for that book recommendation looks very very good, have placed that in my 'saved for later' category and will buy it on my next spending spree. There are so many ways one could work in dreams as it is such a creative environment. Years ago I did some 'past life' regression with a woman called Denise Linn which I found to be pretty powerful. In a guided meditation I went through a visual time tunnel into a 'past life' to pull something from the past life to use in the present, did not know where I was going or what I was getting. I went back to the African savana where I was part of nomadic tribe, my ego told me maybe I was here to learn how to be a hunter? I asked my spirit guide Musafa who we were guided by Denise to meet at the entrance to the time tunnel. After some evaluating who I was I asked him why I was there and he showed me a skull and told me I was there to learn peace. Out of nowhere from deep down I felt a big release and cried like a baby. In another session I went back to see my self as a child (again emotional but ultimately healing). What ever I do in dreams I will do it with love as it is all me and thinking about it this is how I should act in the world too :-) Read today that Tibetans say this all a dream: http://www.spiritofmaat.com/archive/may3/gateways.htm If you can imagine it, you can do it. Many thanks NowHere ∞
  18. Dream Work: Cultivation in the Dream State

The Bums have discussed this: http://thetaobums.com/topic/16691-interesting-article-on-lucid-dreaming-energy-work-dream-yoga-etc/ Sunya posted this: Within the Buddhist Tantric tradition there is great emphasis on using the dream state of being for developmental ends. There exists a special practice called "dream yoga," which in the West has been presented as one of the "Six Doctrines of Naropa." The dream yoga is a high meditation practice which is performed by the practitioner within the so-called lucid dream state. Sunya posted this However, working directly and consciously in the lucid dream state is not ac-cessible to very many people. As the dream yoga methods are very strong and direct methods for development, I have committed myself to developing ways of dealing with dreams, which on the one hand provide training towards actual dream yoga practice—the practicing within the lucid dream state—and on the other hand can fruitfully be used to confront and dissolve problematic psychological structures more effectively than by dealing with these in the ordinary waking state. Therefore, it is appropriate to talk about two different levels of purposes, a surface level of psychological observance, and a more subtle level of spiritual observance. Psychologically-oriented practices are concerned mainly with changing our general psychological structures with the purpose of decreasing our everyday prob-lems in relation to self and others. In contrast, the spiritual observance level is a practice level mainly concerned with changing our existential existence, with the purpose of decreasing the distance between, and thus uniting, our rational and non-rational abilities, or our feminine and masculine energies, or our body and mind or substance and consciousness. By healing the gaps and finally uniting subject and object we break the dualistic determination and entrapment of our existence, thus entering into the nature of existence, the essential nature of the universe. It should be noted that distinguishing these two practice levels is provisional. The two levels follow each other sequentially. One must solve one’s major problems on a psychological level before being able to successfully enter the more subtle spir-itual level where changing one’s existential structures in relation to reality occurs. Thanks Sunya :-) There are books on dream alchemy too. 'The Inner Guide to meditation' by Edwin Steinbrecher uses Jung's active imagination to enter this state and work with archetypes. He says you 'feel' the changes when you work in the dream state. I suppose you could work directly with energy centres / organs in a symbolic dream way too. Talking to them and asking how they are, assessing what they need and healing trauma? How ever it's done it should be done with love! NowHere ∞
  19. Dream Work: Cultivation in the Dream State

Very interesting with exciting possibilities. I guess its your etheric energy body(?) your interacting with in dreams and if you manipulate the energy in a dream and are sensitive enough you would feel this on waking? Some times I do a middle of the night cultivating session and when I eventually go back to sleep I usually have lucid dreams and have been wondering what to do with them. I want to train my dream attention and do some kind of energy work. I would say that rabbit hole leads to a very large warren which is all part of the play of consciousness! Very interesting possibilities, thanks for your post. NowHere ∞
  20. Interesting Q&A on 'http://www.springforestqigong.com/index.php/master-chunyi-lin/ask-master-lin-archive#201211' What is the finger protection posture? The protection posture I teach in my class is to hold the tip of the thumb against the index finger and fingernail to create a circle. This posture closes all the energy channels in your body so energy can come in, but does not go out. For example, when you experience fear, energy can drain from your body. When you hold this posture, you keep that from happening. If you are around someone who drains energy from you, you can practice this. It is also a very practical posture because it can help keep your body heat in, so if you ever visit Minnesota during the winter you will know exactly what to do. ☺ Return to SFQ Empowering You Newsletter - March 2013 Jumping (or Bouncing) into Spring! May be away of conserving energy (have not tried it)
  21. My pennys worth. IMHO the place to be is here in this moment concious feeling. When ever we think we are not here we are but just think we are not as we have become identified with our thoughts and minds. To me it is a case of understanding that we are not our minds through unlearning being feeling / meditation / Qi Gong. This I think takes time and I believe Qi Gong and the like is great for this as you focus and feel the Qi without the mind. When we understand old ways will fall away. When I walk I feel my feet on the ground or try to feel my DT. I sit straight as much as I can when on the computer etc... I clear my past with foregiveness so nothing is going round my mind. 23. Kiai Master...Just watch it

Not sure what OR is, but with respect theory is great until reality hits or kicks you in the face as it did in this vid for this man. Not saying qi cannot be transmitted I am sure it can but how powerful it is I am undecided. Would a person who had mastered his/her mind and their qi flow do a competition like this, I doubt it. To me the interesting thing about this video as I see it is the hypnotised students, the illusion. I want to end illusions not create others. Apparently atoms are 99.999999999999% empty space and if you placed all the atoms of all the people on this earth together removing the space we would be the size of a sugar cube! If that is true and I have heard it a few places and the atom bomb is a physical testament to the physicist logic/reality then it seems to me that anything could be possible.
  24. is it possible to see chi?

A lady called Barbara Brennan has written two books on the Human Energy Field which have extensive detailed anatomical illustrations. Her books are 'Healing hands' and 'Light emerging'. I cannot judge the accuracy as I don't see qi but they are pretty detailed and are worth a study. She explains exercises on how to develop Higher Sense perception (HSP) as well as a detailed illustration of the physical mechanism of how the qi (paths of golden light as she calls it) flows through the eye and third eye to the pineal gland (page 164 Hands Of Light). There are also exercises for healing the 7 chakras and their respective auras and also the Tan Tien and the Core Star which are very interesting but I want to concentrate on one technique at a time. Worth a look.
  25. Kiai Master...Just watch it

The bell ringing is cool but although I have experienced qi myself and read lots I am still undecided on it's power. Feels good though until there is no one to feel it!? Here is another Kiai Master fighting an MMA guy, it's a sobering watch and reminder to always be honest even too those that we respect regardless of who they are and to be humble too. In my view his students are under hypnosis (as we all are), beliefs are just thoughts we think all the time.
