I believe this method of developing the lower dan tian (as well as several potent variations) was shared by SonOfTheGods on the mopai.forumotion.cc site over a year ago, and on his 'personal practice' before that. Good to see its been working for you! This method can be found in Winrar #1, folder 4 "LoneMan Pai Techniques" named "Technique #1". The Winrars are free for anyone interested on the front page of lonemanpai.com

I'd consider some martial arts classes. Or something exciting, new and adventurous, something that'll give you that adrenaline rush, wake up that "fight or flight" reflex in you. Sometimes you have to push your body a little. Working out only when you feel like it will keep you where you are. Push yourself and workout on a regular basis, regardless of how you feel your energy levels to be. Look into H.I.I.T (High intensity interval training), it increases testosterone and the amount of ATP stored within the muscles, pushing your physical boundaries. I hope it helps

Looking forward to them FH

What are the characteristics/qualities of a master of meditation? What are his skills? Strengths? Weaknesses? If you could design a meditation master, what qualities/skills/strengths/characteristics/mentality would you want him to have? From your own personal experiences with a master of meditation (whatever school, it doesn't matter), what are the things that stood out the most to you, both good and bad? All input is appreciated!

I say yang qi because it correlates to all that I have read on it. It was white with a slight blueness to it, especially around the edges when I put my hand through it, Regarding the LDT, Effilang or other members could answer that better. All I can tell you is that the area inside my body, that I have understood to be called the lower dan tian, vibrated really hard for a few minutes, waking me up in the middle of the night. The vibration continued for a few days, but much softer. During that time I didn't have any time to do any long sessions, I couldn't keep that feeling for too long.

The best way I can describe it as is "efficient". I've experienced things after 5/6 months with XYP that I have read others experience after 10 years of different methods. Prior to XYP, I didn't meditate very often, but had trained in martial arts for around 13 years (mostly external, did tai chi for a couple years but not with the internal aspects in mind) So far, I have communicated with a teacher through dreams that have told me to work on a certain area, to then find out by advanced practitioners in real life that I'm not developing as much in that exact area! And the practices suggested was the exact same practice FFS was making me do a day after being initiated! I have had something like an OBE, but not only out my body but out of this realm, where some interesting stuff occurred. Really, REALLY intense vibrations in my lower dan tian. Seeing yang qi, and my energy body. Seeing through my eyelids into other places during meditation. The number of coincidences I've had (synchronicities i think they're called) have gone through the roof, pretty much on a daily basis, and sometimes it happens a few times a day. These things happen almost always after meditating for an hour or more. But don't expect these things to happen immediately after being initiated. I entered the event as a skeptic and left as one, and remain a skeptic as I have also had experiences that are questionable. The ones I wrote above are those that are, personally, undeniable experiences that I can not attribute to my imagination or some placebo effect.

Here is the result of an insect bite from about 5 years ago. Put me in hospital for three days! The doctors had no idea what bug it was, but thought it could have been a horsefly. Looked cool as hell though lol. Try get rid of the infestation soon. Never know what their bites could bring!

Where can I get this full DDJ translation? Such profound insights are hard to come by.

What forms have you been taught by your Immortal masters? And what forms are you allowed to teach others? How did the Monkey King find the new "The Monkey King" movie?

I was expecting some great info to come out of this thread. Unfortunate

I can't comment on the mechanisms as I don't know what they are. All I know is that when cultivating in XYP, you eventually come to a point where you die for a moment and return to normal, and it is an event to expect when progressing. Sadly I don't know how or why it happens, it just does . Effilang could probably provide you with an answer. http://thetaobums.com/topic/32089-hou-tian-vs-xian-tian-xiao-yao-pai/

I think it means you die for a moment, where your heart stops and lips turn blue, and then return. If I remember correctly, this also happens in XYP, I don't remember if its more than once though.

Techniques To Condense/Compress Your Dan Tien?

The only people that can/should count calories are bodybuilders who measure every single thing they eat every single day. It's not something regular people should do, because you'll end up getting tired of it and giving up. Use the portion size method, where you eat fist sized portion of each food group per meal (carbs, protein, vegetables), it's much easier than counting calories and it gets the job done. Experiment with food until she has found a handful of healthy dishes that she enjoys, and have those 6 days during the week, and have 1 day where she can eat anything she desires. The best thing about a cheatday is that it can be arranged on to days of social events with friends/whoever, she won't be the "uhhh... I'll just have a salad :(" of the group, but can have the steak + fries and cake.... CAKE!!!! It's a great motivator. Also try looking into Intermittent Fasting, its great for getting control over hunger, plus all the awesomeness it brings: www.leangains.com Include resistance/strength training. If she was to only lose weight through calories restriction, she will become slim, but soft and frail. Pressups, situps and squats is all that's really needed. 15 - 30 reps (or to failure) every other day, before the H.I.I.T training. After that, if she's interested in training more, there are plenty of workouts on youtube she could follow along. Strong is the new skinny! On cardio/rest days, swap the carb portion for vegetables. On the resistance training days, have the normal carb, vege and protein portions. Drink A LOT more water than before. A LOT MORE!! Make sure it's cold too! The best thing your girlfriend can do is add this things into her daily routine slowly. Do not suddenly stop eating animal products, sweets and chocolate, or whatever else she has been doing over the years and go into some diet where you're constantly saying to yourself "can't eat that" or completely eliminating foods from her life, no one can live life with such limitation. Gradually go towards the changes she decides to make. The worst thing is for her to suddenly go into all this fitness stuff intensely, only to stop a few months later and gain even more weight than before. Weight loss should be the byproduct of having healthy lifestyle, and the transition should be easy, comfortable and enjoyable. Be sure to keep us updated with her progress! All the best to you both!

High intensity interval training my friend! She can use the concept to even the simplest exercise such as walking, or even hula hooping. After gentle warmup, walk/hula hoop for a minute, then rest for 30 seconds. Do this repeatedly for up to 20 minutes of exertion ( the 20 minutes does not include the rest times). Find out the healthy stuff she does like, and eat those during the week. Make sure to have 1 cheat day throughout the week to look forward to. And try to avoid eating after 6pm. Drink plenty of water, so that when peeing its clear, not yellow (apart from first waking up) Will add more info later. Good luck to your girlfriend!

A lot of which can be applied to energetics imo. From the Bruce Lee Library, Volume 3 "Jeet Kune Do: Bruce Lee's Commentaries on the Martial Way" Edited by John Little is another great book, especially Part 6.

A couple nights ago, I had a dream I was travelling through the far east (might have been Indonesia), looking for a specific artifact/statue in the shops. I entered a small bookstore owned by a crooked, wrinkly old man who was dressed pretty modern, in a hand tailored navy suit. He looked really old, easily over 100), but his presence felt young and familiar. I was asking for some help with the item I was searching for, which he couldn't help with. Somehow the conversation led to me asking whether he meditates. He said with a gentle accent as he pointed out the window "I meditate everyday at night with the moon shining fully in the garden here", He went on to say that he brings in the Qi with his breath(which I could actually see as a white light while he was explaining) entering at the lowest point on the sternum (between the heart and solar plexus chakra I think?), dripping down a thin cord - the same bright white colour - to the LDT, which looked like a bowl with a semipermeable skin on top, where the energy settles. I then told him about JC, the limited info I had on the first few levels, and how it's SUPER secretive. His eyes opened wide, waved his hand and laughed "very complicated! very complicated! too much! too much!", like you would to a child trying to explain something they didn't properly understand themselves. Does the method above ring a bell with anyone? It's most likely a meaningless dream, but I thought I'd share it anyway since it's rare for me to remember any details from my dreams. I kinda miss the old dude

Quite a while ago I came across video on here that had a Tai Chi master on a chinese TV show where different people would try to push him out of a circle. I also remember them having a bodybuilder try and fail at pushing him. I can't find it anywhere on here or through google for the last 2 days (probably because the title was written in Chinese). Does anyone have the link to the video by any chance? Thanks!
