I am doing the Spring forest Qigong Active exercises but i am confused about the 6th movement "Harmoney of universal energy". Chunyi Lin says to raise the energy ball up in front and over the head while inhaling, Open your hands and arms wide above your head and bring the energy down with both hands together to cover your head and exhale hands passing the face. But what happens to the energy ball that was raised over the head? Does it stay there or go above to the universe or do we bring it back to LDT? He does not talk about the energy ball. The manual also does not say anything about the energy ball once it goes above the head. Any suggestions?

SFQ Harmony Of Universal Energy
awarenessrules replied to awarenessrules's topic in Daoist Discussion
You are right to not worry about visualization but I am a left brain guy and use logic in every situation in life. To be honest I can't help it that's why I want to do the form and visualization perfectly from the start. So you mean to lift the ball over head and then expand the ball like a balloon followed by contracting it and moving it down? Also I am learning from video, Would it better to take the online class for level 1? I mean does it matter, I read that they do heart to heart transmission during online class, will the transmission help with energy cultivation especially the small universe meditation? I can't do the MCO from audio, I get a headache when I try to focus on moving the energy in MCO. @JohnC -
SFQ Harmony Of Universal Energy

Thanks for suggestions, The issue is he does not bring the energy ball down if you watch the video. He lifts the ball over the head, opens the hands and then bring the hands down palms facing the body holding nothing and at chest level hold the hands in prayer position and back to Ldt. You can't hold the ball while the palms are facing the body. I already feel the ball in my hands at LDT but this really confused me because when I lift the ball over the head and do all the movement then I have no clue what to do with the ball? Have you taken a live course with him? What is exact instruction regarding this movement? I would really appreciate it. @JohnC @voidisyinyang -
Thanks for replies, I just thought that during the spring forest transmission they assign a spirit guide to each practitioner. The spirit then helps the practitioner with healing and energy cultivation. When you call the master energy, you are actually requesting the assigned spirit for help. Thats what I thought about this system. I am still confused. There are some Qigong systems which assign spirits to practitioner to help with energy cultivation but I am not sure whether that's the case with sfq. Falun gong and a few others do this. In Reiki when you get attunement, you also get a spirit guide. Most people don't know about it and they practice reiki but there is a spirit guide with them since attunement. Some reiki practitioners who have good awareness skills actually interact with these spirit guides and get help from them. But I find it unethical because people get these reiki attunements and they are not told about spirit guides. Most people are not comfortable with these things. I will try to contact SFQ and let's see whats their response.

Damo Mitchell Free MCO Course
awarenessrules replied to forestofclarity's topic in Daoist Discussion
I have read here that Damo's Heavenly Streams material is actually dangerous and it can lead to major issues in deep channels. Is this true? This is a reply from a user after trying it: -
I recently started paida Lajin practice in which you slap on your body vigorously. A lot of Sha appeared on my inner elbows. You first slap on both outer and inner elbows, then on both sides of palms, fingers then on outer and inner knees followed by slapping the soles of feet and on the outer side of feet. The instruction also says to slap the head in all directions along with face i.e. front, back, left, right and top of head. I am ok with slapping the sides of head and face but is it safe to slap the top of head because I read somewhere that you should not slap the top of head because so much meridians go through it? The slapping duration is from 5-15 mins per point. It also says to slap the governing channel and mingmen and the whole body at the end. Which points are not safe to slap? Any suggestions by senior practitioners? I have been sick for quite some time and this technique is somehow working on me. But I do want to follow the precautions. Thanks @soaring crane

Hi, I have been doing ping shuai Qigong ( swinging hands qigong) for quite some time to help with blood and lymph circulation. My blood circulation is very slow. It really helped me and I can feel my hands and feet warm. Recently I added dragon and tiger Qigong by Bruce Frantzis to my routine along with ping shuai. Is it ok to mix these 2? I know that most teachers warn against mixing different Qigong styles but ping shuai is very simple and it acts as a warm up too for other Qigong styles. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi, I really need some help with mco. I am practicing the spring forest qigong mco cd led by Master Lin. I have a hard time visualising the back channel. I can only visualize the right side of spine and not the central area of the spine. I have no issues with the front channel. Recently after some practice I noticed energy moving on the right side of spine and ending up in the right hemisphere of brain. It is creating heat in my head and I cant move the energy from right side of brain to the front channel. I think I am moving the energy in the wrong channel on the right side of spine which is bladder channel.Any tips on how to visualize the energy moving in the central part of the spine between left and right vertebras. I mean on the outside of spine not inside. Would really appreciate it. Thanks
-
Thanks a lot for in-depth reply. Also thanks for the book links. The reason i am worried about moving energy in wrong channel is that i am experiencing symptoms completely different and these are not the symptoms of even the foundational mco practice. The energy starts moving somewhere in lower middle area of my back on the right side of the spine and not from the root of spine and it reaches the right side of brain and i cant move it to left side and it burns my brain. It feels like red hot lava is moving on the right side.

I have recently started standing qigong but I am having some pain issues. I do the wuji position with feet hips width apart. As soon as I bend the knees for the position, within 5 mins I develop a boring pain in my right hip extending to the back of thigh. Also with bend knees I feel more weight on right foot than the left. Is this some alignment issue? How can I correct this issue to have equal weight on both feet? That would also solve the right hip pain I think. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks, I practiced it for 2 days and I feel my body much warmer. It does help with blood circulation.

Can Feldenkrais method help me with this issue? I have heard some good things about it. Its a very subtle method and does not require intense stretching.
-
Thank You all for your awesome suggestions. Whenever i do some stretching after 5 min standing, it really brings some relief but then again when i do the standing it all starts again. The exercise that helps me most with pain is when i bend my knee and bring it closer to my chest with both hands while lying on my back, it really relaxes the aching muscle. I think i have some muscle weakness in that area.
-
Thanks, I try my best to relax myself. I do not feel the pain when I stand high but as soon as I bend the knees slightly, the pain begins and the I feel more weight on right foot than the left. The reason I like to bend knees is that I feel the energy moving in my body but due to pain I stop. Without bending the knees I do not feel anything while standing. I have tried the stretching but that did not help. I think I have an alignment issue in hip area but do not know how to correct it.

Hi Terry, I need some info. I have been doing Flying phoenix qigong on and off for 2-3 years now and have experienced some great benefits over time but I have not been consistent with my practice and have skipped weeks and some times months. Recently I was diagnosed with lymph node issues and was advised biopsy to rule out anything serious. They removed 2 lymph nodes from my groin area and sent it to lab. My question is does the lymph node removal has any long term side effects according to tcm? Will it permanently effect my lymph system and meridians at the site of excision? The lymph nodes transport fluid throughout body and there are 600 total in body. So when the lymph reaches the groin area where I had lymph nodes removed, what would happen since there is no way to move forward at the excision site. The groin has 15 lymph nodes. The removed nodes cant be grown back I was told. Whats tcm view about node removal? Would it create a permanent energy blockage? Would it effect my Qigong practice? I am asking you because I read in previous threads that you were once shot, so you might have lymph node or tissue removed from your body so you can answer it from your personal experience and how qigong helped with energy blockage due to injury? Thanks

Hi Sifu,I started FP in June 2017 but stopped practice after 15 days due to chronic health issue,Now i have re-started the practice and only in 15 days i am having less fatigue.I am doing first 2 basic standing meds followed by first 2 basic sitting meds in morning.I want to increase the time for the Monk Gazing at moon from 10 min to 20 min in 2 segments back to back. I read in previous threads about your instruction regarding this but i am still confused. If i want to do 2 segments of MGAM in a single session, is this the right method i.e. take 3 deep breaths then the breath sequence followed by the first 10 min practice then again the breath sequence followed by the 2nd 10 min practice and ending with 3 deep breaths.OR is this the right method i.e. take 3 deep breaths then the breath sequence followed by 10 min practice then 3 deep breaths to end the first segment immediately followed by 3 deep breaths then the breath sequence followed by 10 min practice and then the 3 deep breaths to end the 2nd segment.Which one is the right method? Thanks

Hi Sifu terry. I am also practicing Flying phoenix vol 1 and 2 for some time.I recently came across Golden Flying phoenix Meditations dvd by GM Doo Wai, Are these meditations different than Flying phoenix? Also it says these are advanced meditations so are these the 2nd level of Flying Phoenix Meditations which you teach on skype? It says 3 complete groups of meditations taught by GM Doo Wai. Thanks

Vagus nerve or governing channel or something else?
awarenessrules posted a topic in Daoist Discussion
Hey guys i need some help,Whenever i meditate or do breathing exercises then i experience a painful energy movement late at night around 1:00 am.I feel very hot energy moving on the right side of my spine on the outside reaching right side of neck and head( right hemisphere) and finally right side of face.I dont know which channel is it? I thought it was the governing channel but the governing channel runs on the mid of the spine (outside) not the left or right. Is it the right vagus nerve? or some thing else and why it only runs on the right and not the left side? And how can i activate the left side? And why is this energy so hot,How can i cool it? Anybody experienced the same? Thanks -

Vagus nerve or governing channel or something else?
awarenessrules replied to awarenessrules's topic in Daoist Discussion
Thanks for reply,I think you are talking about ida and pingala channels,Both these channels does not run along the neck and back of head,They run straight from perinium to the 3rd eye on the left and right side of sushumna central channel in the center of the body. What i experience is movement on the outside of spine only on the right side running through the right side of neck, head and face.Governing channel also has the same path but it runs on the center of spine on the outside reaching the mid of forehead.I am really confused... -
Hi,What is the difference between KAP and Hoshin Tao chikung? Also what is the connection of meditation mastery cds to the above two?I have Hoshin Tao chikung all 7 levels and Meditation mastery cds by Glenn Morris. Are these 2 an alternative to KAP level 1? The fact is i cant afford KAP,I emailed Santiago for a donation but he did not reply.I thought he was an enlightened man and he will consider my request.I know KAP safely awakens Kundalini and is the most effective. But i dont have the money. Are there any KAP practitioners here? Thanks

I have been experiencing some strange symptoms since last week. After orgasm i Feel a strong heat sensation that travels from the base or mid of spine and reaches head. Its so hot that i feel my skin burning. The next day i experience neck and head pain.I have read several books on kundalini and i can confirm that its not kundalini.Because i dont have the classic kundalini symptoms.Like: feeling different, not fitting in - a deep dissatisfaction or a yearning for inner development - inner sensations of light, sound, current, or heat - a heightened inner or outer awareness; increased sensitivity - feelings of energy flowing or vibrating within - special abilities, capacities, and talents - non-ordinary phenomena; altered states - spontaneous bodily movements or breathing patterns - emotional fluctuations; psychological issues coming forward - atypical sensations or sensitivities - an interest in spiritual growth or in metaphysics or the esoteric - compassion and a desire to help others - a sense that something non-ordinary, transformative, or holy is happening within - personal development, and optimally, spiritual transformation and realization I dont have any of the above signs.I am fully conscious during the heat rising and watch my spine and brain on fire.I think i have governing channel disorder. The heat rises not inside the spine but on the outside of the spine.I dont feel any chakras.I dont know what to do?And why it happens after orgasm only? Please help me!

I have been doing MCO meditation for the past 30 days but since 1 week i am having strange symptoms at night.I feel a tingling sensation starting at the base of the spine on the right side and moving upwards on the right side of spinal column and reaching the back side of the head.I feel a warming sensation on the right side of the face and head.I know its not kundalini which is a very intense sensation with shaking and twisting. But why is the chi moving only on the right side and not the left side? How many governing channels are there on the spine? Is it 1 running in the middle or 2 running on the left and right side of the spine? How do i activate the left side of the spine?Or will it become active with time? Thanks
