You left out the 'eternal extension' of macro/microcosms . That is we can see the 'as above so below' reflection in sub-atomic physics and astrophysics , but what if these realms extend to many (or infinite ) levels of 'smaller' and greater' . So or 'eternity' has to be 'in and out, to and fro , up and down , in and out . So we could postulate ( for ease of terms ) a really big being ... huge Maha Vishnu type dude , and hence 'being' in a ( to us ) immensely slow time scale . Then such cycles as you mention may be like 'mere' heartbeats to him .... breaths in and out .

Spirit can also mean something else in English ; ' in the spirit of ' or his or her 'essential spirit' ... the 'essence of a thing ' . The essential spirit as a 'distillation ' . In a few systems one's 'spirit' , essential nature , 'individual essence ' , 'mode of being ' is connected to one's dharma , Great Work , the 'mission' this incarnation sets out to accomplish - your spirit and your way . Perhaps 'spirit' / Dao is the way of ' Nature ' , how it sets about to fulfil 'it's' purpose . So by following that way we are in harmony with the way . If one understand the way , of say, farming ( seasons, weather , Moon phases, etc ) and is successful, it may make little difference if one sees the 'animating' or 'originating' forces behind those things as hierarchies of personified or abstract beings or just 'the way spirit moves' .

Just a random thought - you where out picking medicine in the woods ? is this theoretical or actual ? If actual what was the last medicine you picked or collected just before the appearance of 'this beautiful woman ' ?
-
? a theoretical heart attack ? Lets be honest here . I actually met a real person like that .... she approached me and asked if I was really ( some name of a person ) , but she was not 'evil' or nasty , just seemed sad and lost and continually searching for this person she had lost . I even wanted to say yes I was that person . I prefer the adopt and integrate approach . But yes, that does depend on what one feels . There is another real woman about ; not 'evil' as such but 'sneaky' , attempted manipulator , untrustworthy . If I met a 'spirit' like that , I would have an aversion to integration . Then again some forces cannot be integrated , then they must be purged or banished . But my field of such things is in the western tradition , and that might not be appropriate to you . I am sure there would be counterparts in the cultural system you are involved with .

How would you counter this hypothesis to the ‘Enlightenment’ idea?
Nungali replied to galen_burnett's topic in General Discussion
Receiving empowerment cannot be the same as Baptism at all . If one cared to look up what baptism is, if you didnt understand that already, you would see it is an admission ritual / rite into Christianity ... and as far as 'empowering goes' it actually makes you submissive to the 'power' of priests . . Daniel made other wrong claims like this previously which I showed to be false and posed certain questions and facts to prove that , he never answered any of that , diverted and when called out said I was 'now on ignore ' . But I am not 'ignoring ' certain misleading statements made here .- 568 replies

Why study martial arts if you'd never fight back?

So not the ' crescent moon sword ' ? I have little familiarity with Chinese weapons ... excepting the zi-wu (子午) mandarin duck axe : lesson 1. Chop ducks head off , with axe pluck and gut and chop into pieces . Marinate in mandarin juice and 5 spice . Slowly render in a pan, skin side down, occasionally tipping off the fat about 20 mins until skin is golden and crisp . Turn and sear the other side , allowing the juices to remain in the pan . remove duck to roasting pan , add sliver of mandarin peel and some honey to the pan juices, reduce to a glaze and pour over duck , low roast for 10 mins . yes , this is the way of the world now ; should she have put ear plugs in , like one would when offended by any other loud noise ? No ... everyone else should never practice with a fan again in 'her' class . I know what I would be doing ... Then again, maybe she had a phobia ..... apparently anything can be phobia nowadays ... anything you dont like or dont want to do hang on ..... < checking > .... yep ; Anemophobia ... or if one finds that hard to remember it also goes under another name .... ( wait for it ) .... Fanaphobia. I wonder what the fear of paying back people money they lent you is called ? - yep, we got that too ; Chrometophobia, ... which strangely enough " is a relatively unknown phobia that has only been diagnosed in a handful of people " .- 66 replies

Why study martial arts if you'd never fight back?

IME it was three weapons ; jo sword and tanto ... they where the three on the 'altar' ('shoman') . You have seen longer staff used by aikido ? No one wanted to touch one , again IME . I found them very 'in the box' and not wanting to peep outside ; do you guys want to try a long staff, a bo ? " Oh, no thankyou , we do not use those. " Towards the end of my training with that last club (not aikido ) I really started to enjoy the use of the bo and its advantages and wide range of applications ... but that took a fair bit of practice and familiarity to realise .- 66 replies

Why study martial arts if you'd never fight back?

meh .... staff spinning . Why ? Every time someone tried that towards me I just thrust in wildly , you are bound to hit something and then they go haywire . With jo (shorter staff ) there are some times when a half or full spin might be required . With longer staff 'bo' there is a disarming technique that uses a spinning action . Its in a rare staff form we knew as ' makarbay ( sic ? ) no bo ( from Ted Lange but he only taught the first half ) . An old vid from Fusei Kise shows a version of the whole form (so I am assuming it originates with their teacher Hohan Soken . Its got heaps of 'twirlies' in the second part . then I found a vid of Kise giving an 'advanced 'weapons class to a class of black belts , showing them how to twirl a staff ( again ... what for ! ???? ) , many of them looked like they never touched one before , could not even comfortably do one figure 8 forwards , let alone backwards . Then someone in class must have asked the same question , Kise then gets them to attack him with a downward 45 , and he twirls up and then attack with an upward 45 and he twirled down . In both cases he steps in twirling at the right moment , interceopts the others move , staffs lock, one slides, the attacker is bent over and either gets locked up or thrown away . So I bought that into training to . It doesnt really work though unless you are attached with a 45 the same way those guys attacked Kise ... mostly with elbows out and not held in close to the body .- 66 replies

Why study martial arts if you'd never fight back?
Nungali replied to Franky's topic in General Discussion
It can work fine , at the right time, if it is not an initial attack, as performed in training . Of course there are exceptions to everything, I have even got my old 'instructor' with it * ..... but he was hopeless and understood little . * come lumbering in with the sword above my head , ready to cut down and project a strong mental message ; ' I'm gonna pretend to cut down on his head but really thats a feint , I am going to do something really nasty and sneaky ' ... you could see the 'fidget' in his eyes .... just walked in rather slowly and chop ... you're dead . He didnt really know what happened . he did 'feel the force' ... its just that I cheated We should put on a seminar together- 66 replies

XVI. PRINCE OF JERUSALEM. WE no longer expect to rebuild the Temple at Jerusalem. To us it has become but a symbol. To us the whole world is God's Temple, as is every upright heart. To establish all over the world the New Law and Reign of Love, Peace, Charity, and Toleration, is to build that Temple, most acceptable to God, in erecting which Masonry is now engaged. No longer needing to repair to Jerusalem to worship, nor to offer up sacrifices and shed blood to propitiate the Deity, man may make the woods and mountains his Churches and Temples, and worship God with a devout gratitude, and with works of charity and beneficence to his fellow-men. Wherever the humble and contrite heart silently offers up its adoration, under the overarching trees, in the open, level meadows, on the hill-side, in the glen, or in the city's swarming streets; there is God's House and the New Jerusalem. https://sacred-texts.com/mas/md/md17.htm

What about being the King of Jerusalem ? Would that make you even more Jewish than being a mere prince would ? Ask Baldwin the First . I am pretty sure he remained Christian and didnt automatically become Jewish . Even the King of Spain retains that title : King Felipe VI of Spain holds the title "King of Jerusalem" as a part of the traditional titles of the Spanish monarchy. The Queen of Jerusalem Isabela I, married to the Cypriot royal family through king Amalric II of Cyprus, their daughter Melisende married to the king of Antioch and had her daughter Mary. My favourite non Jewish King of Jerusalem ; " In 1948 King Abdullah I of Jordan was crowned king of Jerusalem by the Coptic bishop. " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_of_Jerusalem "

More than just compatible . You do realize Crowley re wrote all the OTO rituals to turn them from Christian into Thelema ? The Book of the Law holds a central part in those rituals . The Man of Earth triad gotta be one of the most Thelemic things on the planet ! Its actually 'militantly Thelemic ' ! But this is what happens when one does not have experiential direct knowledge and instead bases their conclusions on a word or two. So I assume its due to the companion in IV and the Prince in PI titles . For others who might be interested : The Royal Arch ( 'red lodge' ) , in Freemasonry , is a whole different school to the first 3 degrees ( Blue lodge ) . It is about the reconstruction of Solomon's temple . . . and learning certain lessons that are encoded within the masonic version of that story . Like a LOT of Freemasonry , it is Christian based or focused , and as they do , Christians have a certain crossover into Judaism because they accept the 'Old Testament '. OTO version does none of this ... in fact , their 4th degree , it could be said, in some ways , makes a mockery of that - not of Judaism or the reconstruction of the temple , but of the complexity , regalia, titles, degrees, and paraphernalia that clutters the essential teaching of the Masonic Blue Lodge and other forms of Masonry [ remember that the 9 degrees of the OTO are a cut down version of the 97 degrees of the Rites of Memphis and Mizriam ( and other things ) ... and yes, Mizriam is a Hebrew cognate of a common Semitic source word for ' Egypt' - but this doesnt mean ' it is Jewish ' either as it is similar to Miṣr in modern Arabic, Misri in the 14th century B.C. Akkadian Amarna tablets, Mṣrm in Ugaritic, Mizraim in Neo-Babylonian texts, and Mu-ṣur in neo-Assyrian Akkadian (as seen on the Rassam cylinder ). ] But all that gets stripped away in PI .... although there is a title for the person , as shown in the ceremony title (it is not a degree as such but more a 'pendant ' to the IV degree ) one certainly does not become a Prince of Jerusalem after it , in fact one becomes 'not a Prince of Jerusalem ' after it , one becomes not a Prince of anything after it ... in fact, one becomes not an anything after it - no form of address , no identity, no magical name or motto , no insignia .... nothing , void .
