Video as an acceptable form of evidence

Hmmm .... your example started off with YOU dropping the hammer on our feet .... and summarised with us 'being careful not to drop a heavy hammer on our own feet' . ? Interesting . Anyway, why is the feeling of pain the regulator of reality ... when any feeling can be illusory as well ? Regarding consensus reality , that's a better point . I remember hearing a talk from a Buddhist monk on 'illusion and reality ' , afterwards I was talking to him and he again bought up the points he made in the talk . I mentioned the point about consensus reality and he responded with ; " Well, .... yes, there IS that too . " -

I was wondering when someone would bring that up . Many a time on Daobums (and elsewhere) a discussion has been had about if what we observe, in person, 'live' , with our senses is accurate, or indeed , 'real' . ...... but some forget about this when discussing the veracity of ' video' . -
Ummm .... as it says " Note : whale in image closer to camera .... " here ya go , try this :

Painting . It might be old ( but on tv here now ) , maybe even 'controversial ' .... but I like watching him work . A way to do trees with lake reflection ; from 18:40

I knew you where ridiculous , but I didnt realise it was genetic and through your whole family !

because most 'ancestry dna' type results are BS ! All these VERY obvious looking Aboriginal people here went for it and got results from all over the place with 0 aboriginal dna present .

In my next demonstration I shall break this baseball bat ..... by holding a child's ankles, moving forward while doing figure 8 twirls with him and then on the down stroke , break the bat in two with his face ..... ready ? -
If you think that .... ... you must be in an altered state .

Re the bolded bit : There was contention amongst the corner refs when I won as a green against the black belt . Some didnt like my initial attack as it was not at an accepted target. Opponent was a VERY tall guy with very long limbs , he was outreaching everybody , and had been winning by relying on that advantage . He started by sticking his long arm and fist out in your face , even a side kick, your kick would not reach into him beyond his arm reach . he kept sticking it out in my face . It annoyed me so I kicked his hand , seemed the obvious solution , not that anyone taught me to do that . He went owwie owie ow ow , lost his whole body focus , hunched up and shook his hand in the air and then grabbed it with the other one , slightly stepping up and a bit forward as he did . I came in with a classic oitsuki ( being careful to retract my other (guard) hand back to hip and away from any useful guard , as I had been taught . And Frank ( ring ref ) explodes, blows his little whistle , goes into an exaggerated front stance pointing at me and screams " IPPON ! " (one pont, a kill, a win ). 2 corner judges didnt want to allow it as I kicked his hand 'not a proper target ' . Krank insisted as I was coming forward , and opponent was coming forward and I did the technique as required ( all needed to score a 'kill' ) , of course Frank held Veto, and I was awarded the win ... much to the ego fury of my opponent . Thats what I mean by 'karate as a sport ' . That guy would have creamed me on the street , but this was a sport, with rules and requirements of delivering technique 'correctly' . .... and I won 4 cheap drinking glasses in a cardboard display box with luxury car logos on them ..... whooopeee ! -

yeah .... BUT .... Is that video an acceptable form of evidence ? The bolded bit is the key I think , and your comments about individuals ( my qualifier was : " What a history I have had with THAT mob! ) My comments where more about 'old school' and my experiences in the past . Back then it was verbotten to take the art 'way beyond' any rigid guidelines ... actually guidelines is too weak a word . [ back then I actually got third place in an open Shotokan tournament against a black belt when I was green . It was crazy, the guy was all over me and scoring ( back then a high level of control and focus was required - no full contact ) - in a real fight I would have been smashed . But none of his points where allowed - much to his building frustration - as he didnt perform his attacks EXACTLY the way the referee ( Fran Nowak ) believe they should have been technically performed . I managed to do your classic ( and very bad form , in this case ) Oitsuki ... pretty badly ... but the way it was 'required' and won . me at the end ; " I won ? " Back then much of it was political ( the JKA stuff and their trying to bring all under their regulation or you would not be recognised as 'proper' ). I realise its changed a lot now . Some have done research looking at the roots of their art . Some have incorporated some of the locks take downs and throws of old Okinawan karate - which sorta moves it away from it being Shotokan anyway . Im not saying they cant fight , nor that 'school curriculum karate' person cant fight - any one who trains to do a thing A LOT and gets real time experience will be better than one who does not . As a beginner , I trained under the then JKA all approved and recently made 3rd Dan ( which was still a big deal back then , very hard to get a 3rd dan from JKA .... if you where not Japanese) Frank Nowak , a German and the first JKA appointed non Japanese 3rd dan . His teacher was Kanazawa - the 'JKA poster boy ' ( their eidalon ) - talk about a robotic moving , ridiculously deep long stancing . military type drill sergeant . But still , he was good at it , I seen him go from a crazy low deep front stance straight into a leap over his attackers head, to hit with a back heel kick and the base of their skull . Obviously a very risky manoeuvre to try on an experienced person . - anyway , the video you posted ; look at the 'attackers' punch .... other hand pulled back at the hip when he punches ? Why do that ! ? - I mean , in THAT situation they are demonstrating . Thats exactly what I am talking about above . Most people have stopped doing that in our club , becasue I keep clipping them upside their head when they do it . However we do do that .... when we practice the technique and situation it is designed for , and then it does make sense . Regarding Rick , a lot of what he shows is pretty much what we do , I mean, a lot of his application / techniques , he has 'developed ' / discovered (?) as he says " WE dont normally think about that ." Well , I do and 'my we' does , as its all in there from the beginning . I might even venture to say Rick made Shotokan better by going back to where they got it from in the first place and 'reversed the changes they made to it ' . to make it Shotokan . Also a lot of Jap karate has re introduced weaponry back into it . Early days , you never even saw a bo . Old days in Okinawa ' karate kobudo went 'hand ' in 'hand' . I thought he missed a point about his 1 ... 2 ( moves ) at the end , thats a typical thing I see in karate .... its application might be better understood if one considers a big part of karate early influence being white crane ie , 'wings closing' - in karate ; 'cross arms ' or ' the wind up ' or as some refer to it 'loading ' ( evade, deflect, catch, direct or control ), wings open - seizing, controlling at striking ( or they can be reversed ) , we see it in the performance of nearly every 'block' , except it is 'angled ' ; inner and outer 'block' angled horizontally , upper block angled up diagonally , downward block angled down diagonally , in performance of shuto .... all through the moves actually . Oh, by the way , I am not surprised you think he can move better than many Okinawan style practitioners ..... some of them seem to have gotten 'worse' than the people I criticise ! And they teach all that standard 'school kid' stuff . Why ? becasue they have clubs and want to make money and most of their students are school kids ( that are going to drop out , so hit them with fees , uniform charge .... any charge you can think of, before they take off .... thats 'business' ... and a big reason why I refuse to charge ( or even pay my 'instructor' - I do however make a quarterly ' club donation' , to keep the thing going ) -
Your protest .... which I think is valid .... is more in the area of religion . For example , asking " How many times has your magic failed?" is an entirely different question to the rest of the post which is about religious ' theology / philosophy ' .... unless you are conflating the two subjects of magic and religion . I wouldn't advise that at all . And the specific term 'Magick' which you used , by definition can't 'fail you' , as it is a process of learning about life .... however, an individual could fail the 'curriculum' , but that is not the system 'failing for you ' . Well, you could see it that way I suppose : " That curriculum was no good .... it failed me ! " If you think 'Magick' is like doing 'magic tricks' or displaying siddhis , then yes, it could certainly 'fail you .'

No answers to mine above ? This 'found a bottle thing' - hearsay too . What 'finishing marks' and what do you mean by " flow over on to the next stone " ? Posting an image to what you are trying to describe would demonstrate what you mean . Google might be my friend but it still will not show me any entries about 'straw' inside the limestone blocks of the Great Pyramid .

Yes, it will appear that way if you approach this stuff the wrong way without proper instruction and guidance and get the supplementary material practices and 'realisations' that come with it . or one may , as Crowley warned : " otherwise he will be the slave of illusion, and the prey of madness. " The same applies to many other traditions eg Tibetan Buddhism ... and also apparently Christianity .

Sounds good . Putting two heads together better than banging one against the wall Indeed , and at times I have been in that situation , but as you know , the money earned in that situation can be channelled into 'what we will' . But certainly less than ideal . I am STILL learning that . I think, once 'the ball gets rolling' it gains momentum and other things start magically manifesting to assist one ..... or we could say 'dreams start coming true at an increasing rate ' I have experienced this . Just one single example : ( Oh, and I should add , no matter how much of an idiot I am , it doesnt seem to impact on this process ! ) During our hell court case , more than 2 years long , although it we trounced them , like in any long and gruelling fight , there are times when you feel pressure , stress , need a break .... Also it was not that clear then , my mind was saying ' What if we DO loose ? EVERYONE ( for some God damn reason ! ) seemed to be turning against us , even some of the many people we helped over the years - except for two and saying we are going to loose , even 'friends' , soliciters , etc . What if I loose my beautiful abode - what will I do then , where will I live , I have no money ... I will be cast out, destitute , an old street person with health problems But then .... what the hell am I doing ! MY life has never been like that .... things have always 'manifested ' in some strange and unusual way for me . Stop being an idiot Nungers ! You know 'Big Mum' ( as my indigenous teacher calls her ) is looking out for you . So I get back to my old self and think ... so what if I loose it all, thats happened more than once and I ended up better off . I know everyone says they are no rentals and they are crazily high amounts .... but I think I just look online and see what IS available .... ... a 'Lodge' / defunct 'bed and breakfast ' .... up on the mountain ..... at THAT price ? Must be mistake . So me and friend go to check it out . WOW ! Amazing place , I peek through a window " Thats MY room right there. " We ring up .... Oh, MANY people are on the queue for that , but we somehow get to visit the owner , we click, they decide to bump us in ahead of any others . I wont detail how good it was as the main thing is ; one day I drove PAST it , all other times I would drive out, one way to the local town , or drive out , the other way, to see some friends . But this day I went from town to friends , drove past the house and .... wait a minute ! Drive back and do it again . Then it hit me ! This is the place I drove past on my visit to the area before I moved here 30 years ago and I noticed it, stopped and admired it and thought 'What a fantastic place ... and it just resonates with me, like I belong here . Oh what I would give to be able to live in a place like that .... even temporarily , but that seems impossible . I was living in my 'dream house' And that isnt the only thing like that , that happened , there has been many of them . Some times , to a seemingly trivial and material level : the motorcycle ( old retro version ) , I realised after I bought it , is exactly the same sort of motorcycle I dreamed about having as a teen ... I forgot all about that , but now somehow I have one . ( and the reason for that is , I never really needed money before, but I sure thought it might be handy and fun to have some ! ) At the beginning of our court case , they also threatened to take everything I had ... but after investigation they realised I had nothing personally owned ( worth anything to them ) so I was declared a 'man of straw' - a legal term which means basically 'forget it, he's a bum, not worth the trouble of shaking him upside down, only a few cents will fall out ) . The after the case and we won, and after the appeal and we won .. and after it was all finished and settled THEN I got, totally out the blue a multi hundred thousand dollar inheritance . - that now, they cant touch ! Who is working this all out ? ! Many have wondered why 'someone like me ' , never responsible , planning, or saving , ended up where I am . And also interesting is that I did all this stuff , not for any 'karmic reward ' ... it just happened , or I was drawn towards it for other reasons ; things like working with refugee relocation, nursing the elderly , cooking nurturing and feeding people , one could even say being a tarot reader all those years , or time spent as a masseur . I was never interested in charging for it though . And that leads me to another factor ; past life 'accoutrement ' , what we bring with us , I am supposing some experience (or karma ) along these lines already ..... I think it might be a bit hard to get to this stage of realisation or 'fluking' ( ) in one life time . What I mean by this is ... if someone is a BRILLIANT carpenter , they might have carpentry experience before this life ? hang on a minute ! That sounds like what is happening to me ! Surely I am not man of virtue !

Got an image to demonstrate this ? 'Have' trowel marks ... or have things that look like trowel marks ? People describe the 'scoop marks' around the obelisk as looking like a big ice cream scoop had scrapped out bits of rock . of course, even if we had such a mechanised scoop and tried it .... no way would the surface look like that ( it would be fractured and broken, even ice cream will do that if you scoop it out - look closely at the surface , it isnt smooth at all. ). Even in this video here , they suggest the 'scooper' would have to be some huge type of abrasive 'belt sander' , but that 'belt sander would not have a flat surface , as a 'scoop' is deeper in the middle - so a belt sander that has a convex base plate ..... as we go on and look further into it, the ore the idea falls apart . Some of the blocks certainly LOOK LIKE they where once malleable and then set . I spent a LOT of time in the past looking into this and particularly Davidovit's ideas ... he is an engineer has replicated the process he believes they used and made a scad of bucks out of it ( geopolymer for deep site nuclear waste containment and burial ) .... but his ideas start to fall apart as well, the more we go into them . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Davidovits I cant find any reference to that whatsoever . I think you we need a citation for that ... otherwise its just ' hearsay' .

Went to local shop today ; 'Good' Friday. I heard shop guy reminding younger assistant ; 'Remember today is Good Friday , we can not sell alcohol today, its illegal ." Me ; " It is ? " ... Apparently so . I could have bought it yesterday and got shit faced today But no BUYING it today .... as if people didnt have a stash ready . No , no drinking alcohol , its Easter .... instead you should be eating a chocolate egg that came from a rabbit .

My friend loves the red dragon fruit I grow .... easter , but is trying to watch her weight, so I carefully trimmed the 'flaps' off the outside of the fruit and made it egg shaped and wrapped it in foil , for her 'easter egg ' . Then she never showed up - guess I have it for breakfast . - I bet the easter bunny is glad that he does not have to lay these

I persevered .... wish I hadn' t Same same , I have seen it all before . They keep hitting on a few good points , but sometimes , nearly every sentence uttered could be disputed ... too much to go through on that one. Sometimes , previous premises suggested , later somehow turn into facts that further extrapolations are then drawn from and presented as valid . Then again, at times he follows up his assertions with , maybe not, others dont think so ... but I dont agree .. ... so, a matter of personal opinion . Worse is the diversion into glossed over points , where we are told they are fully explained in other episodes of the series ( more 1 1/2 hr long vids ! Also, we can find out by following the directions at the beginning , the money / advertising part , that goes for some time , a thing he says he doesnt usually do, but in this case .... well, he does . " Lion cloth wearing savages " , he describes the ancient Egyptians ( Late Kingdom ) as . The Late Kingdom holds some of the most advanced .... ( ahh forget it ! Its plainly a loaded statement ! ... and it doesnt do his presentation any good . ) Its a shame as he does make some good points and at times asks good focused questions . I agree with him about the silly experiments some archaeologists have tried to replicate things , some of them are REALLY bad . He also makes a point that archaeologists only go on the evidence they find ; the see the marks, they find the 'pounding balls ' , they find no other tools so they assume the method . Well, that's what archaeologists do .... they are not supposed to make theories beyond physical evidence they find . The V.O. admits however that 'its all speculation" on video's part ( 54:40 ) Conclusions ? - The most likely solution is it was some type of advanced tool or machine that was designed so as to leave the effects and marks we see - and that the 'orthodox' explanation is too fantastic and unrealistic . ( I personally think that the 'advanced tool' we have no evidence of is rather fantastic . They make a point that the same marks are on stone work at other places and countries . Well, at those places and times , they only had similar technology to New Kingdom Egypt , so that isnt surprising . What is surprising is the suggestion that they might all have had this 'advanced tool' , that in all these other places there is no record of either . Some secret advanced hidden technology tool , mega hard granite rock scrapper , that is used in different countries , with similar technology levels , sometimes separated by 1000s of years , that leaves no other trace other than the marks in the rocks that they presume must be left by a tool that made similar marks ( they do show a few ideas and admit none of them would have been suitable) . To me that is just as silly as them showing how hard it is to use a pounder by showing soft western tourists trying it out , or themselves or modern archaeologists ... too hard , it hurt , etc etc . Well go look in some mines and places where , admittedly with iron picks and shovels navvies and miners did amazing feats of engineering , and suffered and died from it , with no more than picks and shovels and wheel barrows .... and in recent history too ! . " I only lasted a few minutes at it " ... they didnt even address the possabilities of relays of people , it isnt impossible that people swapped jobs every 1/2 hr or 15 mins .... lots of other options possible all through their complaints about logical impossibility are not mentioned either . From 0;55 on you will hear the standard explanation ... rave , all familiar , as before , replete with holes of logic all through it . So just go to there and watch 10 mins if you want the gist of this video . ( As to why this idea of his - and others ideas , its 'standard fare - is imprtant to us , he doesnt say ... but he will be making a video about that in the future ) I' ve addresses all this before here in a few posts , so go there for the info . OR I will soon have a 3 hr video coming out where I read all those posts to you . or you could buy my book coming out . I also offer tours where you can pay for my holiday get a 'discount price' for booking early ; Egypt ... or the Egypt / South America package ( with a stop off for a bit in Columbia ) . PS . dont bother with the last 8 mins - merchandising T- shirts , etc - why didnt I think of that ?
-
I taught at the local Steiner school for a while - year 10 ( great kids ! , I knew most of them outside of school anyway ) I introduced some of these ideas with them ( to save them from 'vocational 'guidance' and careers of shop assistants ) ; " You kids, each one of you, is unique and individual and have a potential genius to express in your special field . " I explained a bit, they got curious , some started talking about what they wanted to do and where they wanted to go . But one kid didnt like the whole thing , he protested that he already knew and was already doing it , and he would after schooling shift into that as his career , along with continued study in that field . It was to be a gardener , supplying bio-dynamic produce . He had already started , his father had been doing it and he had loved it from an early age ... a few of the above indications where present , but most of all , he was sure in himself this was his life's path . And who are we to say not ! An important aspect is to NOT interfere with other wills , if you did , it would be a 'magical declaration' or 'spell' that you dont believe others have the right to express their wills, so then, neither do you . Anyway, thats just some thoughts off the top of my head , and its probably already too much for most to bother reading . OR I could finish with a quote from Crowley " Now that my lecture is finished , I open the floor to questions about what you where preoccupied thinking about, or reacting to, instead of what I was actually saying "

Another type of Daoist aspect is , in the raising of children , to be relaxed and let things sort themselves out as they do ... an indication of a path might only be for one set of experience relevant to the whole (as in my case ) In raising children ;" do not build a pool for a goat nor a pen for a shark" . Be aware of any indication they show that might be an interest, a curiosity or a development , support it and nurture it , be on guard not to FORCE them in ANY direction . Let it unfold naturally . We could also look backwards in our life for indications of any current confirmations as to the path we are on eg . I partook of an unusual 'off shoot' rite ( let's say ) , it was VERY good , and potent , the Master of the Lodge was excellent ! But, as it is in western occultism ( and in Ancient Egyptian symbolism , which I just commented on earlier here today ) their regalia can seem a real strange concoction of clumped together symbolism . We ended up having a conversation , much like this one , and he laughed and showed me a photo of himself , VERY young , looking a little confused , on a stage with other kids all dressed up, and him dressed in a costume like the one he was wearing in lodge ! WTF is that ? It was a school play , he was stuck into a particular role , they didnt have the exact costume so they had concocted that out of what they had . - This might seem a strange 'indication ' but I have seen it many times ; the really good nurse that played all day long in her toy nurses uniform as a kid , etc . Some might say the influence of things programmed them into a career ; giving the kid a nurses uniform or me seeing the window dresser influenced influenced us become a nurse ; a (let's call it a ) 'set designer ' (as part of my 'skill set' ) . But .... I saw and was interested in all sorts of things .... I dont remember much about all of them and I never became a jackhammer guy (used to LOVE watching them ) , and so on . The woman that was a nurse had other clothes and 'dress ups ' , but none appealed to her so much . There are a whole lot of reasons why we might loose awareness of our True Will , I wont go into that now . But some had it worked out at an early age ....
