I had practice and direct experience of this and the conclusion I came to was it is dependent on memory . One might be fully conscious of something and doing it , but later forget it . So then there is no memory of 'being conscious' . My experience was doing a meditation that required breaking the sleep cycle . Since I could not remember doing it in the morning, and not sure I did do it, I started leaving myself a note at night saying I had done the meditation. Some mornings, I would have sworn I slept all night , yet there was the note in the morning . ' Stream of Consciousness' relies on memory to string it all together like a film , otherwise consciousness is like looking at 'stills' - series of photographs and forgetting the previous ones, each time a new one is seen . Hmmm , I never had that . I have had this unusual experience often ; I am lying there thinking I am asleep* and I hear a noise , its not that I am woken up by the noise , or other stimulus but I am surprised that I am 'awake enough ' to be aware ( but this probably is not when I am in a state of deep sleep ) . * what the hell does ' thinking I am asleep ' mean ?
  2. Secrecy

This revelation changes everything ; as well as making us realised we wasted our time offering any advise too a deceptively outlined scenario, it actually explains the reason for this 'secrecy of origins' . That is , ' it ' ( the 'liberated soul' / 'family member ' ) CAN NOT give an origin, place or country of birth and any questions about that will be diverted , excused , manipulated and go unanswered because they can not be answered . I dont know how many times I have explained this on daobums - its usually to someone playing with stuff they dont understand , or just somehow become placed in the situation . It usually happens to those with no experience , background or proper study of the subject but with a smattering of New Age 'fiddlin' . Magick 101 ; When invoking or encountering a spirit - test it . The very basic first test is to get a name . if it claims human identity, or any type of 'past' , question it on that identity and past . A 'lower order' spirit will not be able to answer these questions . It might have some good advise in some areas and seek to gain favour with you . But it is not what it it is trying to make out it is or what it is tying to get you to believe . Oh sure , the response will be 'its not like that ! ' - dont know how many times I have heard this . Its also been observed in clinical situations ; "They never have a personal identity though they accept most names or identities given them. They either conceal or have no awareness of personal memories. Though they claim to be separate identities they will reveal no detail that might help to trace them as separate individuals . " p 6 . https://selfdefinition.org/hearing-voices/Wilson-Van-Dusen-The-Presence-of-Spirits-in-Madness.pdf 'lesser order' goes from real nasty buggers up to , well , ourselves . It seems this one is fairly mediocre and perhaps relatively harmless . Maybe ? But deceptive ... like our poster here . I won't write more on this here , because , now , trust issue - I might come back tomorrow and find a new edit .... " No it isnt ... he is actually my Uncle Joe from Albuquerque . "

Errrmmm .... thanks , I think . I suppose its a classification within that philosophy ? I It doesnt seem to fit with my ( 'number' ) theory , which, as far as I can tell, seems to contain all systems and that manifests in a particular way . It also goes along with the 'number theory' of manifestation in TTC . But I am not familiar with this above system or the terms , I;d heave to look them up and try to get a concept . But maybe its just a list of states and what comes 1st or 4th is immaterial ? 'My' system ( or the 'natural' system ) would suppose a primal overall consciousness ( and a state of zero or 0 consciousness as a 'prelude' to that ) , so that would be 1. Then that would have 2 polarities ; 2. and 3. Perhaps the conscious and unconscious . They would then form an 'interactive' triplicity' that gives manifestation to a 4th stage , where these 'ideal' energies or concepts 'solidify' ( specific thoughts - 'the ten thousand things' ) and drive actions on the physical plane .
  4. Zeitgeist

What a strange world it is ..... away from here . Here are some Aussie police ..... 'policing' Sydney's gay Mardi Gras .
  5. Sam Harris and Rupert Spira

I too wanted to hear about this particular '4 stages of consciousness ' - to see if it fits in with my 3 : 4 theory . But this answer above is pretty confusing ? Dwai asked if you could enlighten US , yet you changed that to ' we ' .... " by 'we' " ... what we ? Then a quantum leap to 'summoning' Jeff .... or, at east , if it isnt a quantum leap, there is some connection inside your thinking . Now ... you have not been 'visualising' Dwai , have you ?
  6. Zeitgeist

    I thought it was ; 'wearing a manbun in a public place ' .
  7. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

    I thought that was going to be the other way around ;

    No ... really !
  9. Stair cases . That seems to be the origin of some of the techniques in Chinto Kata . Chinto was a 'pirate' , a Chinese seaman washed up in North Okinawa, that turned into a 'bandit'. Matsamura went to capture him, but could not best him in their fight . Chinto took a higher position up the back of a sea cave . The Chinto kata has many unusual kicks from the 'hook stance' - a one legged stance with the kicking foot held behind the other , to kick out and then return to that position . During a fight on stairs , or from a similar situation ( a higher 'decking' ) it tends t be a battle over the higher ones lead leg ; the higher person is trying to kick the lower (as there isnt much more he can do ) the lower is trying to size the others leg . Chinto may have developed the technique fighting on boats - up and down stairs, landings and different levels on deck ?
  10. Man ! ... is that little bird that lives next door going to be pissed off !
  11. Anyone got interesting plans for February?

Going north to get some grass trees. Last time I was there I saw some advertised by the roadside , very cheap. But I was in the wrong type of car - no room. I suppose they are small ones . but many years later ; Going to visit my XGF and we are off for a 2 day trip. north Just as I return I am going south for a bit of a martial arts get together - our head guy passed on a few months back so some seniors are getting together again ( I missed the first one , it was 'admin' , organisation, restructuring and other immensely boring stuff I happily avoided ), this time for 'practice' . It appears only two of us ( I am one ) that has retained the fuller extent of our weapons system , so I hope to be doing a session on that . Then, just as I return from that , my Thailer ( Thai tiler ) turns up FINALLY ( I have been waiting MONTHS! ) to start work inside my now finished garden bath house . In between that I plan to float down the river a lot and go out to the coast and do some salt water fishing . I got dinner there yesterday - what an adventure ! Hooked up a decent fish , but he came back in, went under the wharf and through the netting into the swimming pool - snagged . So I had to get down in there dive to the bottom and untangle it, under water . Took me 3 goes , the things a fisherman will do to secure his catch !
  12. Story of Atlantis Part 2 - Conquest of America

THE STORY OF ATLANTIS - PART 3 . ? South-east Asia . Is our next candidate folks . I just ordered this book ; 'Eden in the East ' The Drowned Continent of Southeast Asia by Stephen Oppenheimer http://www.bradshawfoundation.com/books/eden_in_the_east.php and https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg16021657-200-where-it-all-began/ " ONCE upon a time there was a landmass shaped like a crocodile foot. Its name was Sundaland and it dwarfed the neighbouring Indian subcontinent. Here, in the birthplace of the Neolithic Revolution 10 000 years ago, rice was first grown, bronze first smelted. So why haven’t you heard of it? The sea swallowed up most of it about 14 000 years ago. Until then, explains Stephen Oppenheimer, a professional paediatrician and an impressive amateur prehistorian, in Eden in the East, “the South China Sea, the Gulf of Bangkok and the Java Sea were all dry plains connecting Indo-China, Borneo, Sumatra and Java into one continent”. Oppenheimer trawls through the oceanographic record to discover the effects of the cataclysmic floods resulting from major rises in sea level caused by the melting of the ice caps. The first of these catastrophic postglacial events took place around 14 000 years ago. Two great floods followed 11 500 and 8000 years ago. ... His innovation is to claim that it is not the Near East but Southeast Asia—the sunken continent of Sundaland—that is the cradle of civilisation. ... Oppenheimer amasses the geological, archaeological, linguistic and genetic evidence in the first half of his book in order to later reconstruct the cultural background of Sundaland and to trace population movements. He then tackles the conventional notions about the origins of rice cultivation, megaliths, the blowpipe, the use of bronze, the genetic mutation known as the Polynesian motif, and the family tree of the East Asian languages. All are reinterpreted in the light of his Sundaland theory of cultural origins. ... Hancock posits his Atlantis on the continent of Antarctica on the basis of no archaeological evidence whatsoever, while Oppenheimer’s more plausible location is built on a respect for and detailed knowledge of the evidence. And unlike Velikovsky, whose catastrophism involved cosmic events plus terrestrial upheavals, the flooding of Sundaland is explained purely in terms of geology and oceanography. Eden in the East musters an impressive arsenal of facts and interpretations drawn from many disciplines that steer the reader against the prevailing tides of current opinion. ... he surveys flood myths, the separation of Heaven and Earth, anthropogenesis, the two warring brothers and so forth. Many of the fundamental stories in the Western traditions, including the Biblical accounts of Adam and Eve, Noah and the Flood and the Creation itself, are then presented as variants of Oceanic myths. And all ultimately derive, he says, from the Sunda homeland...... After reading this book, even those who cannot accept Southeast Asia as the sole source of civilisation are forced to recognise the discovery of the prehistoric past relies not only on digging beneath the surface of the land but on trying to plumb the depths of antediluvian cultures.
  13. Now yer talkin' ! (I was just going to link to this post ... but the search engine here ! That reminded me of ' Adele's fried rice ' . Adele was a flat mates GF that moved into our house . She didnt do much so one day we insisted it was her turn to make the dinner . She made fried rice . 1. The theory - rice and other ingredients are fried , then eaten (well, that was her theory ) 2. Practice - well, she had no practice at all, but 'in practice' she knew (from eating Chinese take away ) that it consisted of rice , some vegies, some bits of ham and some egg . 3. In real life - she knew the rice was 'fried ' so she put 2 inches of oil in a fry and heated it and then added the (raw) rice . Fried it a bit then added some chopped veggies and ham , then broke some raw eggs into it . Result ? Uncooked hard crunchy rice lumps mixed with overcooked fried vegies, all lumped and stuck together with the egg, sitting on a plate with oil oozing out of them .
  14. I agree ! In an octagon or ring its a limited familiar environment . Out on the street , well, there is limitless opportunity to use other things ( as I mentioned earlier ; land form, obstacles, manoeuvring the other into uneven ground, having the sun in their eyes, random weapons, not to mention escape ! You cant escape in the ring and you cant throw the towel in in the street ) and different tactics ; ( "What ! ? Fight you right here ? With those two cops watching us from over there !
  15. I think that punch at 4:47 'distracted' him - on the way up at the end of the grapple , blocks the first punch as he is getting up on one knee and counters back with a punch AS he stands - very good ! . 'Boofhead' doesnt seem to know what to do after that ( at 4 :49 )
  16. Secrecy

A bit of both - two types . On the indigenous level its a type of 'cosmic star lore ' for teaching and personal development and a type of 'seasonal astrology' for agriculture, gardening, hunting and gathering . They are collated from various sources so its not via a lineage . Its western equivalent of the cosmic star lore type , in our group that practised it, is more like a 'Stella Yoga ' for personal development .... this had a more 'mundane counterpart' in the process of being able to draw up and understand your own chart ; that was via a group member astrologer doing an ongoing weekly workshop on reading your own chart. The Stella Yoga work and the group we where in was to do with a lineage ; you could work it out from material in the public domain, but it might be near impossible to comprehend it or do the associated assumed stuff that goes with it , if you where outside that 'lineage ' I hope this makes some sense ? See the problems one runs into when secrecy is involved With the 'seasonal astrology ' here it is a blend ; the indigenous local weather cycles ( of course , one must use local forces and elements in the local environment eg, not here , but up north there are 6 seasons , we dont really have the trad Euro 4 seasons and neither did the Aboriginals , of course ) that modifies the principles of hermetic western agriculture ( the shortest way to explain that is , its like biodynamic gardening / agriculture ... but different .
  17. Mr N. taught the 3 levels of technique (outside of training ) are ; when your mates are trying to best you - 'wrestling' and 'joking around' . When you need to defend yourself from attack or injury . When your household and home have been invaded and family are threatened . Old school , no sport application in there. His 3 (again 'old school', again ) reasons to train and develop ; 1. To protect your parents . 2. To protect your household ( home and any relative in it ) . 3. To protect yourself, so you are enabled to fulfil 1 and 2 .
  18. gets slammed on back , cant move for 20 seconds wile the other tries to get in a position to do something .... then as he pins him 1 ..... 2 ..... I can move again ! - throws him off . man! I didnt know Bollywood style 'professional ' world championship wrestling had come so far ! Over here when that stuff was popular , for some reason , a lot of kids from 'special school' ( intellectual disestablishes) made up half the audience - they LOVED IT ! - I knew people that would go and deliberately cheer the 'bad guy' .... which really infuriated the ''special kids' . ( oh my what some people do for entertainment ; teasing the disabled at a a ' professional' wrestling match ) Oh wait ! I have been doing that here myself with Onionaught . (I'll stop now as I just saw he got a 'vacation' ... I DID try to warn him about that )
  19. Agreed ! Everything changes from a static practice when it becomes a dynamic, moving, changing, interplay , or forces . Common sense really . Yep. One guy in our club - ex Krav Magra / Israeli military ; " I learn not to grapple . At home , you fighting one 'mugger', if you go down ( grapple) , their mates hiding and watching then rush in and give you a kicking . If you beat him good, they get nervous you might be good fighter and maybe find someone weaker to pick on."
  20. Yeah but ..... none of youse Indian fake martial artists could do it in the REAL ring , where the 'real men ' fight ! :
  21. Oh Isee ... nthing to do with you ... its the whole Daobums site fault ! None of us like 'the truth '
  22. You say I am not making sense or know what I am talking about , yet when I clarify it , so that others can understand as well, you dont seem to be able to stand it .
  23. below you comment that : " your crazy assumptions and false generations that others in here obviously share with you. " You know why they share them with me ? Because they are not false assumptions . YOU are the one making some rather silly basic mistakes here , and others can clearly see it . Many martial artists realise that a formal practice will be adapted in a dynamic situation , but it seems you are not one of them . You will see all sorts of silly karate at 'higher levels ' thats my complaint about it , And the video I posted of that silly hikite movement done by SENIORS , black belts , making a video to promote their style or technique . No, I am telling you hat you seem so stupid that you have now gone backwards in comprehension , just when you previously seemed to be half getting what I was saying . Which is , yet again ( for anyone that got confused by Oneironaut's flapping about ) When defending ; When the punchy guy punches, why does the one defending fling one arm out first and not grab anything, and withdraw that arm while he is blocking the punch that is coming, then punch back and withdraw the other arm . if hikite is a grab and pull in for a punch, why do hikite while you do a block ? When attacking : Why, does punchy guy when attacking the other one , punch with one arm and draw the other arm and hand back to his hip, leaving his guard down and his head exposed ? The punchy guy is initiating the attack , why pull his hand back as he punches , there was never any punch from the other to seize and pull back . And I am not talking about lone practice in the air , I am talking about two guys practising a techniques . and I fail to see why , with the explained question and the video together , one can not comprehend the question ? yeah it IS simple and I am not saying why do that i the first pace . Its one of the most common bully techniques ' you grab them with one hand and rain punches with the other , as the first thing a person that does not want to fight does, is to flinch, duck, try to get away . Also this is why a few martial arts practice so much against being 'seized' . Again, I am talking about what SOME karate practitioners do in their practice and drills ... which actually 'goes out the window ' - is NOT done as soon as they do ( good ) self defence and sparring . Again, you seem to have gone backwards - you seemed to be getting the point ... but nw you have reverted to what you saying pages back ; you are grabbing and pulling when punching . I am asking why do the movement for every punch and even block when you are not grabbing at all . get it yet ? Oh, sure there are . Its these type of drills though that I am referring to , a bad drill gives bad habits ; drilling punching while you drop your guard is bad practice ... any one knows that .... except some of these karate guys . No , they are NOT crazy assumptions that others here share with me . Unless you are going to postulate that TDBs is full of crazy people ... except you Like I said , karate got adapted so kids could practice it as a form of exercise . I call that 'modern karate' . Its for kids and sport . It isnt like traditional old style karate that was used for self defence , fighting and 'body guard ' work ( including minding the king ) . Traditional style ( 'seito' ) is deadly . You cant have kids practising deadly techniques in the school yard ' you want them all in a line m neat, dressed the same way and being respectful, orderly and relatively uninjured . Its just plain common sense ! So kids practice like this ( in one example ) ; 1 . Steps forward and does a mid section punches at the other . 2. Moves backward and stays 'inside' ( the others punch, ie, the defender moves towards or stays on the attackers centre line ) and one hand moves forward , as if doing hikite , and is withdrawn , as the other arm comes forward and does an outer block . The defenders forearm, blocks the punch by striking and diverting the attackers forearm, then he retracts that blocking arm (in a hikite movement ) while he punches back with the other . In seito form (same example ) 1 . Steps forward and does a mid section punches at the other . 2. Moves off line to the outside , the first movement of ' one hand moves forward , as if doing hikite ,' is actually a deflection of the others punch, to stop it 'tacking' you as you move to the outside . The other arm moves the opposite way, so as you 'slap' the punch out of the way, you are in a cross arms position ( or 'cross wings ' - as all of this was developed from white crane system - 'Chinese Hand ' ) . outer 'block' movement is a strike ... NOT a block , its a strike , with the back of the knuckles to the outside of the others elbow at the 'weak point ' ( kyusho ). While the other hand is retracted to .... (a) - 'wings open' . THEN that striking back fist turns into an open hand, slides down the others forearm, seizing the wrist and rotating it into a wrist grab WHILE their other arm comes in to drive a strike into their kidneys, then same hand does a palm strike up under their seized arm at the elbow , while the other hand seizing their wrist is rotated towards their face and down and back, while the elbow is rotated up and forward , driving their body and head down, then you step in and kick, big toe into eye socket , or if they have turned their head away fro protection, into the top of the jaw joint just below the ear . You cant have kids doing that to each other . The same with the Inner block ; the forearm is swept from the outside of the body towards the centre line , using your forearm to deflect a strike on the others forearm . In Seito, that sweeping across motion is led by the fist with the second knuckle of the second finger striking the point in the attackers punching wrist Anywhere from H5 to H7 will do it . A good hit here will disable that arm . If they punch after that with their other arm, its a simple matter of swinging your fist back the other way with a back fist to catch them at HT 3 . Disabling that arm . Now you are inside their guards, they have two disabled arms and your fist /arm is in the position to bring it down, again striking with the middle knuckle, down the face, below the eye in a whipping motion, or just run it down the front of their body if you dont want to rip half their skin off their face . if you had watched all the Hohan Soken / Dillman vid above you would have heard this all explained . Dillman quoting Soken ' 'Why you block ? No block ! " and Dillman ; " Every thing he hit was a pressure point , everything . You cant have kids doing this . Nor can you use it for sprt or competition . And I am NOT saying it it isnt possible to fight using kids style , but it drops your guard and has other mistakes in it and is NOT effective as real fighting style , its a kids / sport style - and thats why some 'black belt' karate kids get totally creamed by boxers and other type of MA . And YOU refer back to the whole run of the conversation on that topic and what i originally ACTUALLY was referring to . No its NOT just me, becasue as you said earlier ; " your crazy assumptions and false generations that others in here obviously share with you. " I could not give a flying f*** at the Moon about what you think anymore . The explanation is written out here to help others try and decipher the mess you have made this topic into .
  24. Secrecy

All of the fruit in this garden is for you ...... except this one tree ( thats more directed @Luxin ) From one 'rafter' to another ; I too have studied a form of astrology that is sidereal and mostly unfamilar. . Especially so considering the south hemisphere and local indigenous considerations
  25. Are mistakes lucky?

I'd say a mistake in a print run of cards would be in all the sets . I would nt consider it 'lucky' at all . One morning I woke up after a long party , still pretty out of it . I was late to meet someone in town, I quickly got dressed and went . While walking through town I got some strange looks then realised , my fluffy lined track pants , with large seams and big pockets where on inside out . I didnt feel lucky .
