  1. Expressing gratitude for material things

    I am grateful for everything . Right down to the basics of simply being alive / existing . I agree that thus is healthy psychology , even more so when one gives appreciation and thanks and offerings of appreciation and thanks . I am strongly Lunar and Cancerian so a large amount of my thanks goes towards the great home environment I have - the actual house and surrounds , the nature climate and animals , etc . Regarding your last sentence .... and .... 'she who shall not be named ' .
  2. Martial Arts demonstrations gone wrong

    ANY 'demo' by Steven Segal . Gene LeBell responded in an interview to a question about Segal saying he could not be choked out ; ' ..... I got the choke on .... and since he cant be choked , I guess he got tired becasue then he decided to have a nap . Also, he must have forgotten to go to the toilet before as he decided to that now as well . "
  3. Martial Arts demonstrations gone wrong

    That depends ..... I have a crazy huge 'Conan style ' sword blank ' ,( blunt with no handle ever fitted ) , I even pared down some of the crazy stuff , like the claws holding clear marbles that someone made for me ..... but it is made out of the steel from one of the old saw mill blades from the old abandoned Boggy Creek Mill , that a friend bought out . It can cut bricks and concrete blocks in half , doent even leave a mark on it ( that you cant wipe off ) . So .... dont come at me with concrete or brick amour on !

  9. The Earth Is Immortal

    The Planet ? Its real name is Venus . Someone made a mistake somewhere . What we call Venus is actually the planet Vulcan. Check the myths and then the physical conditions on the planets and their positional relationship. What does Vulcan 'rule' ? Volcanoes , deserts, metal working, forges ( hammering and pressure , fire fuelled by 'wind' ) , heat, lightening, toxic fumes , etymologically 'darting flame ( via Sanskrit 'ulka' and varcas - brilliance and glare - to PIE ) . Now, what do we have on Venus ? an average temperature of more than 400°C, and a surface pressure almost 100 times on Earth. There are clouds of sulfuric acid and other corrosive chemicals. Volcanoes lightening and severe winds that blow at speeds greater than 100 m/s. It has sulfuric acid clouds which send down torrents of sulfuric acid rain. Makes 'Venus' herself seem unsuited What does Venus 'rule ' ? Love, , sex, beauty, fertility, animals, the ocean , nature , life . What does 'The Earth' have ? Life sex animals oceans and nature . So, what happened ? Venus, the Goddess used to ping pong between Mars ( God of war and her lover ) and Vulcan ( God of technology, weaponry and pollution and Venus' partner ). And where does planet Earth / Venus lie physically ? Between the orbits of Vulcan (planet Venus) and Mars . If only we could realise WE are on the planet of love and not think it is somewhere else, instead of ping ponging between war and conflict and delight in killing and victory and technology pollution and rising CO2 (the atmosphere of Vulcan) . ... and scientists tell us both Mars and 'Venus' may have once been like ' Earth' ..... Danger ! Danger !
  10. ' Donnellyism' . view of history / development ... which is actually a Victorian ( and even current for some people ) paradigm, now well outdated .... is based on white western expansionism / colonisation justification . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantis:_The_Antediluvian_World
  11. Great Heroes

    Things I hate ; Calling lame events and people heroic and heroes ..... like 'football heroes' ..... even the local supermarket has an advertising campaign calling their workers 'local heroes' . They should be ashamed of that ! They even put a picture of one staff member each week in local paper advert with caption 'local hero' yet every week, these people go unnoticed ;
  12. The Apocalypse

    a note on " The mastery of these four psychurgical operations, symbolised by “The Magician”, The High Priestess”, “The Empress” and “The Emperor”, ' First we have 0 the Fool ... the (sort of ) Dao of the tarot . 'out of that' comes the 'spiritual' level of the male female polarity- priestess and Magician. Then out of that comes the material form , Empress and Emperor , then combining all that , an hermaphrodite , that isnt back at zero , but at 5 , the student and master of male and female , or yin and yang (or any polarity ) and the spiritual and material worlds ;
  13. The Apocalypse

    Apocalypse Tarot card " The seers in the early days of the Aeon of Osiris foresaw the Manifestation of this coming Aeon in which we now live, and they regarded it with intense horror and fear, not understanding the precession of the Aeons, and regarding every change as catastrophe. This is the real interpretation of, and the reason for, the diatribes against the Beast and the Scarlet Woman in the XIII, XVII and XVIII-th chapters of the Apocalypse; but on the Tree of Life, the path of Gimel, the Moon, descending from the highest, cuts the path of Teth, Leo, the house of the Sun, so that the Woman in the card may be regarded as a form of the Moon, very fully illuminated by the Sun, and intimately united with him in such wise as to produce, incarnate in human form, the representative or representatives of the Lord of the Aeon. Seven are the veils of the dancing-girl in the harem of IT. Seven are the names, and seven are the lamps beside Her bed. Seven eunuchs guard Her with drawn swords; No man may come nigh unto Her. In Her wine-cup are seven streams of the blood of the Seven Spirits of God. Seven are the heads of THE BEAST whereon She rideth. The head of an Angel: the head of a Saint: the head of a Poet: the head of an Adulterous Woman: the head of a Man of Valour: the head of a Satyr: and the head of a Lion-Serpent. This sacrament is the physical-magical formula for attaining initiation, for the accomplishment of the Great Work. It is in alchemy the process of distillation, operated by internal ferment, and the in fluence of the Sun and Moon. Behind the figures of the Beast and his Bride are ten luminous rayed circles; they are the Sephiroth latent and not yet in order, for every new Aeon demands a new system of classification of the Universe. At the top of the card is shown an emblem of the new light, with ten horns of the Beast, which are serpents, sent forth in every direc tion to destroy and re- create the world. Further study of this card may be made by close examination of Liber XV - The Book of Thoth . Further analysis of Book of Apocalypse is in the Golden Dawn book (by Israel Regardie) in the section ; The tarot on the celestial sphere. As far as the ritual goes that goes along with the 'secret interpretation ' see O.T.O . 'Knight of the East and West' degree .
  14. Great Heroes

    My vote goes to Ernie ; Loss of Endurance Endurance departed from South Georgia for the Weddell Sea on 5 December, heading for Vahsel Bay. As the ship moved southward navigating in ice, first year ice was encountered, which slowed progress. Deep in the Weddell Sea, conditions gradually grew worse until, on 19 January 1915, Endurance became frozen fast in an ice floe.[87] On 24 February, realising that she would be trapped until the following spring, Shackleton ordered the abandonment of ship's routine and her conversion to a winter station.[88] She drifted slowly northward with the ice through the following months. When spring arrived in September, the breaking of the ice and its later movements put extreme pressures on the ship's hull.[89] Shackleton after the loss of Endurance Until this point, Shackleton had hoped that the ship, when released from the ice, could work her way back towards Vahsel Bay. On 24 October, water began pouring in. After a few days, with the position at 69° 5' S, 51° 30' W, Shackleton gave the order to abandon ship, saying, "She's going down!"; and men, provisions and equipment were transferred to camps on the ice.[90] On 21 November 1915, the wreck finally slipped beneath the surface.[91] For almost two months, Shackleton and his party camped on a large, flat floe, hoping that it would drift towards Paulet Island, approximately 250 miles (402 km) away, where it was known that stores were cached.[92] After failed attempts to march across the ice to this island, Shackleton decided to set up another more permanent camp (Patience Camp) on another floe, and trust to the drift of the ice to take them towards a safe landing.[93] By 17 March, their ice camp was within 60 miles (97 km) of Paulet Island;[94] however, separated by impassable ice, they were unable to reach it. On 9 April, their ice floe broke into two, and Shackleton ordered the crew into the lifeboats and to head for the nearest land.[95] After five harrowing days at sea, the exhausted men landed their three lifeboats at Elephant Island, 346 miles (557 km) from where the Endurance sank.[96] This was the first time they had stood on solid ground for 497 days.[97] Shackleton's concern for his men was such that he gave his mittens to photographer Frank Hurley, who had lost his during the boat journey. Shackleton suffered frostbitten fingers as a result.[98] Open-boat journey Main article: Voyage of the James Caird Launching the James Caird from the shore of Elephant Island, 24 April 1916 Elephant Island was an inhospitable place, far from any shipping routes; rescue by means of chance discovery was very unlikely. Consequently, Shackleton decided to risk an open-boat journey to the 720-nautical-mile-distant South Georgia whaling stations, where he knew help was available.[99] The strongest of the tiny 20-foot (6.1 m) lifeboats, christened James Caird after the expedition's chief sponsor, was chosen for the trip.[99] Ship's carpenter Harry McNish made various improvements, including raising the sides, strengthening the keel, building a makeshift deck of wood and canvas, and sealing the work with oil paint and seal blood.[99] Shackleton chose five companions for the journey: Frank Worsley, Endurance's captain, who would be responsible for navigation; Tom Crean, who had "begged to go"; two strong sailors in John Vincent and Timothy McCarthy, and finally the carpenter McNish.[99] Shackleton had clashed with McNish during the time when the party was stranded on the ice, but, while he did not forgive the carpenter's earlier insubordination, Shackleton recognised his value for this particular job.[h][100][101] Not only did Shackleton recognize their value for the job but also because he knew the potential risk they were to morale. This allowed for Shackleton to remain in control of the morale of his crew members. The attitudes of his men were a point of emphasis in leading his men back to safety. Shackleton refused to pack supplies for more than four weeks, knowing that if they did not reach South Georgia within that time, the boat and its crew would be lost.[102] The James Caird was launched on 24 April 1916; during the next fifteen days, it sailed through the waters of the southern ocean, at the mercy of the stormy seas, in constant peril of capsizing. On 8 May, thanks to Worsley's navigational skills, the cliffs of South Georgia came into sight, but hurricane-force winds prevented the possibility of landing. The party was forced to ride out the storm offshore, in constant danger of being dashed against the rocks. They later learned that the same hurricane had sunk a 500-ton steamer bound for South Georgia from Buenos Aires.[103] On the following day, they were able, finally, to land on the unoccupied southern shore. After a period of rest and recuperation, rather than risk putting to sea again to reach the whaling stations on the northern coast, Shackleton decided to attempt a land crossing of the island. Although it is likely that Norwegian whalers had previously crossed at other points on ski, no one had attempted this particular route before.[104] For their journey, the survivors were only equipped with boots they had pushed screws into to act as climbing boots, a carpenter's adze, and 50 feet of rope. Leaving McNish, Vincent and McCarthy at the landing point on South Georgia, Shackleton travelled 32 miles (51 km)[96] with Worsley and Crean over extremely dangerous mountainous terrain for 36 hours to reach the whaling station at Stromness on 20 May.[105] The next successful crossing of South Georgia was in October 1955, by the British explorer Duncan Carse, who travelled much of the same route as Shackleton's party. In tribute to their achievement, he wrote: "I do not know how they did it, except that they had to — three men of the heroic age of Antarctic exploration with 50 feet of rope between them – and a carpenter's adze".[106] Rescue Shackleton immediately sent a boat to pick up the three men from the other side of South Georgia while he set to work to organise the rescue of the Elephant Island men. His first three attempts were foiled by sea ice, which blocked the approaches to the island. He appealed to the Chilean government, which offered the use of the Yelcho, a small seagoing tug from its navy. Yelcho, commanded by Captain Luis Pardo, and the British whaler Southern Sky reached Elephant Island on 30 August 1916, at which point the men had been isolated there for four and a half months, and Shackleton quickly evacuated all 22 men.[108] The Yelcho took the crew first to Punta Arenas and after some days to Valparaiso in Chile where crowds warmly welcomed them back to civilisation. There remained the men of the Ross Sea Party, who were stranded at Cape Evans in McMurdo Sound, after Aurora had been blown from its anchorage and driven out to sea, unable to return. The ship, after a drift of many months, had returned to New Zealand. Shackleton travelled there to join Aurora, and sailed with her to the rescue of the Ross Sea party. This group, despite many hardships, had carried out its depot-laying mission to the full, but three lives had been lost, including that of its commander, Aeneas Mackintosh.[109]

  17. Love it . Can I get a source on this ^ ? It is possibly a bark painting, yet I have not seen one before with the laced on 'stick frame'. (Perhaps a later addition ? ) . Also i am familiar with the style as a type of Australian Aboriginal art , yet it has unusual elements . Also the same with the mythology / story ; familiar, and again , one of a type , yet unusual elements. Perhaps there is PNG, Pacific Island or even African influence . Also there is a link between 'Great Snake' (and Great Ancient Forest ) in African, Australian and Voodoo 'myth' .
  18. Calligraphy as Cultivation

    Dave Brown , the best sword teacher I ever had , is a calligrapher. In the Japanese tradition , a Man should have several skills , otherwise he isnt a 'real man' , he is considered rough or undeveloped ; art of sword, unarmed jitsu, be able to make a nice cup of tea ( sado ) , be able to compose poetry and write it out beautifully (shodo) , and do a good arrangement of flowers (ikebana ) .

    Is the above an extract / quote ? It seems so due to the header ; Generic Earth Gate Comments from recent Sorcerers Guild posts about Crowley and his imprint on western magic I first found the comment about Crowley with a woman interesting as he once wrote that all of his higher initiations where made possible due to women , But when I read the supposition that it may have been his mother .... ... the writer obviously never read what Crowley thought and wrote about his mother !

    Why not ?
  23. for deletion (cleanup)

    Indeed ! Also at John 4:14 . and the 'Wine of Life' in the western initiation tradition . And in ovid's mythology of the Raven * thats why he doesnt sing and only 'croak' as his throat is so dry from not drinking . ( Looking more at this bird ; The Jacobin cuckoo (Clamator jacobinus), pied cuckoo or the pied crested cuckoo, is a member of the cuckoo order of birds that is found in Africa and Asia. It is partially migratory and in India, it has been considered a harbinger of the monsoon rains due to the timing of its arrival.[2] It has been associated with a bird in Indian mythology and poetry, known as the chataka (Sanskrit: चातक) represented as a bird with a beak on its head that waits for rains to quench its thirst.
