Sorry , they just all changed their names ... so they cant be traced . There is that EU privacy law again ! (That should get a downvote ) I have always worried that 'Nungali from Australia' might not have his .... have his or her ...... privacy 'exposed' . .

I have found at least 2 ways to defray this ^ before I train or teach with someone I make it very clear : " I am a hopeless fighter ... you could beat me easily . " : ) The other main way is I show them how to do the technique on me instead of me starting the whole thing by doing it to them . This worked particularly well ( both approaches ) when I showed some 'stuff' to some Aboriginals . They are pretty sick and tired of people telling them about 'better ' stuff (in all areas ), especially this one ... lets say many of them are experienced in very real fighting 'arts' . Some are more than willing to show claimants 'what really works ' - they got some cool weaponry too . 'Fighting- one long side - boomerang ' . ( There are many boomerangs , only some are the throwing / returning type - they are designed to imitate a hovering bird of prey , to chase other birds into nets. ) This one is made from a strong small tree section where the root branches out from the base at 90 deg so the grain runs along with the curve . Some of them also hook over at the end a bit more . They are mostly used in a clubbing motion on the blunt end with the extra piece providing more mass at the 'rear' . It can be used like a short staff or jo , swinging with one hand or blocking with the shaft and holding it at both ends . It can be turned around to strike with the point , or go for a hit with the shaft and when its blocked the end can 'reach over' and hit the others arm , used like a kama or sickle to hook and pull limbs or a shield . I saw a doco two old guys made one and then it went for a 'white fellah ' test in a lab . The 'lab' was two re-enactment guys in full Euro armour in a ring, they gave up their axes and swords and went at each other full contact with these and shields . They where impressed with its utility , but mostly their strength ; against metal amour and shields , full power , they remain undamaged with only scuff marks and scratches .

At the risk of being a bit current affairs political (but this is for a different reason ) , we just had state election, the liberals 'lucked out ' why ? Their organization forgot to register them for candidates in time Imagine how pleased their candidates where ! ... or confused voters all over the place finding their party had no representation on the ballot .

Dude ! Thats in India ! .... I could not get a meal at 'Swami's Underinflated Indian Restaurant ' (Infamously cheaply catering to students from Sydney Uni - next door , for many years ) without the owner trying to engage me in the latest in Indian politics - which I didnt have a clue about nor an interest in . He even had his own political 'slogans' and philosophies painted on the walls inside ; Eg . " One can not always right injustices - but one can embarrass the guilty . " ... also the main wall had a picture of him beneath Ghandi and a slogan ; ' N. Pondisawarmi .... Australia's answer to Mahatma Ghandi " I have even seen him and his mate get into a huge argument in the middle of a busy night , central stage , between the tables , about Indian politics , of course. { It really amped up .... yelling, chest swelling , in each others face , spit flying. I was with a friend who traveled through India a lot, she said ; " This will go on for a bit, they will get more and more agitated, get to the point of near fisticuffs, it will seem , then they will agree that after all, they are both Indians , make up and re affirm their friendship . " - And that is exactly what happened }

Lets make a list ; ( I encounter this one a bit ) 'Cranky ponky-wonk face '. She look like she just heard one of my jokes .

yeah . I was watching a travel doco with a well known presenter . During his adventures he went to see a shaman and at the end he was asked if he wanted to seek any advice. he said yes and that as a TV presenter that was his work and love and he traveled away a lot and that meant time away from his family . What should he do .? The Shaman explained family was more important , it is traditional with us and many other cultures to first fulfill our commitments and our good experiences with our family and children when they are young , after that has been done we should seek our own things , enjoyments, and spiritual explorations in the older stage of life . Thats clear in lots of traditions . The presenter looked a bit guilty and sheepish on hearing this ... but afaik , he still carries on the same . The time I spent with the 'little guys' was fun, great , developing soul and self, and I was 'in there' and not running off, going away, working, but even so it passed so quickly and was gone . And that besides the effects it has on the kids / family . - you dont want to be there for them , dont have them in the first place !
